All this talk about text chat and defcon's extremely anti-text chat stances makes me wonder why @NewBlacksmurf hasn't commented in a while.

Why should my friend miss out on any coms? No matter if vc is not blocked or not ....on the chosen console version?
I agree with there is no reason people should not choose the game and platform that best suits their situation/s. My friend, it is the console version....ur 'friends', Pc version. Both have their needs met.

..... Right, as I have stated before, I want Voice Chat kept in the game, and not removed at all. It's nice to have especially in groups when people understand me and any other part of gameplay that requires fast communication. I'm asking for an added text feature ontop of voice chat. I've said both of those facts numerous times.defcon.dealer1b14_ESO wrote: »
And ur extremely anti-vc only stances makes me...well, I'm not surprised ur here

Sure, my want is that they continue to keep text chat out of the console version, and that ppl new to this type of mmo gaming use what the devs have in place to trade, chat etc etc.
That is not every ones stance, but it's not just mine.
The most oddly thing that came out of the Reddit answers was their response about text chat and because we play consoles on a TV that it would be too hard to read and would not work good and that it would take up too much of the screen because they would have to make it large to read the text.
The game is 1080p on both consoles, many play the PC version on PC at 1080p and some of us, like me and my Wife play the PC version since Beta on our TV's with a wireless keyboard and mouse at 1080p sitting on our comfy couch.
So how can text be too small for TV screen to read by having a chat box, yet I and many others play the PC version at the same exact resolution and have a chat box that we have no issues able to read? Of course, I fully understand that there are various sizes of TV's out there and sitting 10' from a 65" screen versus sitting 10' from a 42" screen can possibly make things hard to read in chat box, but that is why you have an option to use the chat box and another option to size the chat box.
In my opinion, it is a weird response that does not hold a lot of water in my opinion. They need to figure out a way for console players to have a chat box or something that would make it easier for those that can't speak or don't want to be spamming voice channels asking everyone if they want to buy a stack of wood.

Because I'm playing...it's pointless to beat a dead horse.
If a game doesn't have what you want...stop playing and do something else.
I like the game as is. Other than server bugs I'm good

Let's all agree that this will be the last thread about this topic, please. ZOS has seen your outcry. They see that it's the same 37 ppl complaining over & over, post after post.
We get it. You can't figure out how to coordinate with the in game coms. You need your training wheels back. We all understand.
We just don't care.
So please, let the horse R. I. P.
@NewBlacksmurf
Good reasoning. Wish I couldI'm stuck at work until Midnight my time almost every day. That's why I'm only able to play at late night hours.

Horrible reasoning, if we took that stance with every game we play there would no new be improvements, especially in an MMO setting where the game is actually an ever evolving game. All these console players don't know about the days when DK vamps use to take on groups of 15+ players and win, if Us PC players wouldn't have been so critically and vocal about a lot of the aspects of the game you console players would not even being enjoying it now. If we simple would have said forget this game I am done playing an unbalenced bug ridden game there would not have been any ESO tamariel unlimited it would have lived and died on PC. So to all the console players out there, next time you run into a PC player ( there are some among you know, thanks to the Xfers ) tell them thank you for paying to beta test the game for a year

So what about the deaf player who only plays console games ? What about people with social anxiety who are console exclusive ? You have absolutely no valid reason as to why both forms of communication can not exist on both platforms. DCUO is a console MMO that launched with text and voice chat and it worked perfectly fine. Just in case your new to the game industry, especially MMOS you would know that what is often advertised for a game changes drastically over the life the game. One more thing, they never said the game would never have text chat, just that it was launching with out it. Also you post on here like you speak for ALL console players and that you ALL don't want text chat well guess what that is YOUR opinion and nothing more. Before you give me some anecdotal evidence of the legions of console players that you know said they don't want text chat I know another legion of console players saying they do want it xD. Good luck chatting with your trade guilds who atleast here on the PC side have 500 active players all chatting at once. Someone said it here already, to have an effective MMO both text and voice chat are required, any MMO player who has a decent amount of /played will tell you the same.
Awaiting the response from @defcon.dealer1b14_ESO because he is the only one here saying no to the optional text chat. Although I am pretty it is a troll and has been fed way to much already

Ps, they also see its just the same 2 or 3 players in all these threads that vocally don't want it.
I would love a text chat box. Especially if Microsoft and Sony make Chatpad's for these consoles like they did with the last Gen consoles. I can't believe that these still aren't available yet. I always used both my 360, and PS3 with the Chatpad attached. The Smartglass functions wouldn't really be good, and neither would Controller text entry, since both would use an on screen display that would block 75% of the screen.

I've raised this issue before - so feel free to comment - what about deaf people and people with hearing loss?
This together with the subtitle failure on the console make this a legal and social issue. You keep saying - it's not something you want. Agree but it is definitely something that some people NEED.
