ZoS is going to do what it wants to do.

Unless the entire console user base votes no to text chat then there should be options. Unless the entire PC user base votes no to voice chat then there should be options. As long as there is a divide then ZoS is doing a disservice to themselves and all gamers by not having options.

It goes without saying they cannot roll this game like someone who can see. They get on to socialize with us and other players and to enjoy the sounds. Add text, and they will miss out on a lot.

They spend their money and make choices just like the deaf, non deaf or anyone else. They choose not to buy a game that the company clearly says it won't have VC. If they did and complained, I'm sure it would be met with a logical response of 'it's not offered, why did u even buy it?' type responses...and rightfully so.

Again, we console players do not feel left behind if there is no text chat in our console games.

Selling things? Finding groups in Cyrodiil? Getting help w/ specific quest objectives? Recruiting for their guild?

As someone has already said, please stop claiming to speak for all console players. There are people here in this thread who are console players who are saying otherwise. You do not speak for all of us, so please stop claiming to.

Nobody, literally nobody, is calling for voice chat to be removed. Your friend can continue to chat with you and enjoy the game's sounds all he likes. All we're asking is for text chat to be added. People who don't like one can mute it. People who want both (like most of us in this thread seem to be agreed) can. And people who want to turn both off and run totally solo can.

Thanks for the advice, but I speak for several that are actually in game and talking as well as other 'pro no text' posts that get buried under repeat 'add text to console' posts, and being active on consoles for several yrs. Also I believe the several polls asking if text should be added, show more than just my nay vote...but I'd check just to be sure

So while I appreciate the advice for me to not speak for others, I have to respectively decline.

I'm sorry, but your blind friend not wanting to miss out on "any" communications is simply not a compelling enough reason to shut out the entire console playerbase from an optional text chat box, especially when they are already missing out on coms right now just by being limited to zone / guild / area / etc.

And more especially since the current workarounds involve going outside of the game to log into websites and forums just to sell your things outside of guild, recruit people to your guild, band together to take keeps and defend resources, etc.

How does your blind friend handle these things right now, I wonder?

The ps4 ppl we've hooked up with at times have been great. The situation is explained about him just being in the group for chat and not one person has complained. He's had a great time so far. We also roll other console games and have the same fun.

Why can he not do that if people who prefer to use chat boxes to sell things and recruit for guilds and activities are typing to each other?

He can still log in, hook up w/ you, chat w/ people about whatever as much as he wants to. Text chat doesn't hinder this in any way.

You keep dodging this question, and I'm curious why.

Probably good advice. I think I'll take it. My point's been made and if this is really the best argument that pro-VC only players can come up w/, we'll probably be seeing text chat added in the future.

My friend paid the same amount for his game as I did and the rest. What he does in game with his toon does not matter.

Again, why should he miss out on anything coms wise in a game he choose to buy that advertised VC only?

He sure can, and does login, hook up with us and chat.....and all chat is via the mic on the console, so if someone speaks, he can interact if he chooses...he may not be able to see, but he is not dumb. He has given a few ppl advice on certain things i.e 'try using a weapon with fire damage on wooden things and or "vamps".. etc.

If u continue to avoid my reasons, that's not me "dodging" ur question...I believe that's u not getting the answers u want.

I agree, voice chat has to be permanently off for me because of all of the horrible feedback, various volumes, screaming, music playing. It is a mess.

Text chat with trade channel, area chat, etc. needs to be implemented.

Plenty want this feature added. I don't see how it would do any harm or hinder anti-text chat people's gameplay. Just make it so it can be disabled by people who do not want it.

Really want it as well. I just can't enjoy the game as much as I can without it.
As a sign of how much it effects me, I am not spending any real life money on ESO Plus, Crowns, or any other "extra" thing unless text chat gets added, period. If it gets added though, the first thing I'll do is buy $100 worth of crowns to show my support that ZoS is listening to customers.

I agree with there is no reason people should not choose the game and platform that best suits their situation/s. My friend, it is the console version....ur 'friends', Pc version. Both have their needs met.

I'm sorry, but your blind friend not wanting to miss out on "any" communications is simply not a compelling enough reason to shut out the entire console playerbase from an optional text chat box, especially when they are already missing out on coms right now just by being limited to zone / guild / area / etc.

And more especially since the current workarounds involve going outside of the game to log into websites and forums just to sell your things outside of guild, recruit people to your guild, band together to take keeps and defend resources, etc.

My friend chats away with folks in and out of groups. I think I pretty much covered wat he does in game..and even if not, I'd hope the obvious would shed light on ur confusion on wat he does about the 'walkaround yada yada'....but just to recap...he logs, we hook up, he chats, we chat, ppl chat he enjoys his time.

The ps4 ppl we've hooked up with at times have been great. The situation is explained about him just being in the group for chat and not one person has complained. He's had a great time so far. We also roll other console games and have the same fun.

He can still log in, hook up w/ you, chat w/ people about whatever as much as he wants to. Text chat doesn't hinder this in any way.

I don't feel that your solution of "just use voice chat, who cares if things are really clunky w/ VC-only as compared to its PC cousin" is an acceptable one.

You see, I actually care about this game and where it's headed. You seem to only care about yourself and are using the illusion of being backed by many silent, voiceless "others" to make it sound like your opinion is more than just your opinion.

It would have Zero effect on anti-text chat peoples' gameplay if they make an option to disable it if they don't want to use it.. Why not try to make everyone happy and not give one side the virtual middle finger?

The 'us' I'm speaking for have posted in the similar threads that got combined to this small one. again, the poll speaks volumes that it's not just me and my opinion/want.

I like quick chat , voice chat in theory, still spend all voice coms in psn party chat.no one uses it on ps4.
We need all tools available hat logs are 1 of em.
