Are on-screen advertisements for the Crown Store acceptable?

    It's OK if and only if it's OK for people to spam trade, guild and lfg, etc in zone chat.
    If we can do it why does it bother people that ZOS does it? (I do see the top section that players cannot announce but in general any company announcement should appear in this manner)
    Zos can do it.
    Is it their right? Yes, it is their game.
    Do you have to put up with it? Yes, if you play the game and they don't stop. No if you don't play.
    How does it feel? How many times do you give to a beggar on the street who approaches you.

    On-screen advertisements for the crown store are NOT acceptable.
    We're walking further away from the mmorpg as a virtual world and coming closer to the manic in-game advertisement of mobile/web games...
    Couldn't they announce it in the launcher, like lots of games do?

    Our efforts have been rewarded!! See, we can make a difference in some things! Its not always about 'complaining to complain', we honestly are trying to help ZOS. Thank you to all who voiced thier opinions, whether for or against, and thank you Zos, who just earned back a little bit of respect.. at least from me! :smiley:

    We don’t plan on doing the in-game messaging anymore. That was, honestly, just to get the word out about the Senche-Leopard due to the very limited amount of time it was being offered. We heard our players loud and clear that they didn’t like the in-game messaging, so it’s gone the way of the dinosaurs. We’re working on better in-game messaging about limited-time offers and sales that aren’t as intrusive.

    That's good to hear but I have to be worried about what they might be working on now to message players? In-game flashing neon signs? Maybe AoL mass mailing of disks? Viagra/crown store email spam? o.O
