This post was originally a query and plea, as you can see from the text below. Happily, it turns out ZoS listened to player feedback on this issue and decided to do the right thing. For which I thank them profusely!

Please don't! No one cares about whatever "limited time offer" reskin of existing mounts, items, etc. you may be hawking. Ads belong on the endless loading screens you've decided to grace us with, where we have PLENTY of time to read them and nothing else of importance to look at while we wait. I promise you that if you do this, like the last 2 times, I will refuse to buy the advertised item. Keep it classy ZOS, we know you can.

We don’t plan on doing the in-game messaging anymore. That was, honestly, just to get the word out about the Senche-Leopard due to the very limited amount of time it was being offered. We heard our players loud and clear that they didn’t like the in-game messaging, so it’s gone the way of the dinosaurs. We’re working on better in-game messaging about limited-time offers and sales that aren’t as intrusive.

I would think they are not going to. There are no special "limited time" items in Crown Store currently, and hopefully this time they listened to the massive thread about the topic...

Indeed! The forums have become a general whine fest. If I disliked the game as much as some of the folks on here seem to, I would simply quit playing and find another way to pass my time.

That makes no sense. We got cross-screen ads in-game as paying subscribers. When we raised our displeasure, the official response was a lie (i.e. We can't send an-game email).

So more frustration ensued. We still have not gotten a response about it here, which makes me wonder why. Saying "we don't plan on doing in-game messaging anymore" isn't the same as saying we won't do in-game messaging again.

Someone from ZOS needs to come here and make a definitive statement that these ads will not be used again. Until then, I simply don't believe what I'm reading on Sony's site.

The fact that this information was shared on the playstaion blog and not here kind of makes me wonder if being on here is even a viable way too communicate worn ZOS.

Excellent news. Though I think announcements like this should merit their own thread/announcement from ZOS here on the forums instead of JUST being buried in another post made by players. Then it would not get missed and everyone would know ZOS at least occasionally listens.

because it is something pretty much only the LOWEST denominator of MMOs do first off. Secondaly, they promis MANY times to never do something like that. THEN, they tried to outright lie to everyone to get away with it by saying they could not use the mail system, which EVERYONE knows is BS.

Let me give you an example that happened to me. I finished up the Thizzarinni (sp?) Arena quests, after fighting my way through the qualifying rounds, meeting and defeating the 3 Champions, prevailing over the Grand Champion, I walk out to get my reward. I am basking in the glow of the accomplishment, listening to the announcer sing my praises and what do I see? 4 messages about a skin for my mount. Way to ruin that moment.

Excellent to hear! I only saw the announcement come up once (well, it came up in multiple languages - does that count as coming up more that once?), but it was somewhat irritating and, more importantly, not even effective. It still only reached the people who happened to be online during the brief periods when it came up. If something is irritating to customers and not even effective, then it needs to go away. I'm very glad ZOS has listened to the feedback on this.
