that's fine. The shop items offer no advantage.
this sounds to be a mix between Rift and SWTOR. Rift is 100% free, SWTOR is free to a point. You have to sub to get unlimited access to everything. If all the shop has is like vanity mounts and pets and different colors for dye who cares.
If you think that xp boosts, gold boosts etc are all they will sell you are dreaming. Look at LOTRO and SWTOR's stores. They both sell end game items including gear etc. LOTRO also claimed they would never sell anything that has an advantage. Now they sell end game wepaons, armor and the rare stat boost tomes on the store. This game will go the same way.
STO is also a good example. They also first claimed that they'd never go F2P and sold people lifetime-subscriptions for $300 (iirc) and then went F2P but claimed there would be no pay2win. Now you can buy the best ships in the cash store exclusively I believe (you can buy the components required for the best ships with in-game credits but someone else had to pay for them with RL cash and then sell them to you in-game so pay2win just the same).
I am one of those people who got suckered into buying a lifetime sub. I havent even loaded STO in a year or more. I have a lifetime VIP sub and still wont play it.
Looking forward to all the "Buy our winter consumable snack, reindeer mount and elf costume now! Limited time seasonal offer in the Crown Store!" facebook posts, announcements and nudges in the store.
The telltale here is the inclusion of Soul Gems and Potions to avoid doing ingame content or trading with other players and crafting professions (alchemy), which is indicative that this shop doesn't care about ruining or bypassing ingame content in order to make a sale. Disappointing.
In fact i would rather have good small population sustainable game with good community like EVE rather than generalised f2p MMO which i fear this will become.
Still not totally surprised as i fear that game suffered from too much MMO crap added to potential sandbox TES MMORPG.

STO was a good game... then it went to hell with F2P/pay-to-win. I hate to see ESO do the same, but I'm not optimistic/naive enough to believe that it won't. I'll hang around probably until it slides down that inevitable slope, but then I'm gone.
Please choose which one is the closest to your feelings. Curiosity here. Personally, I like the way the game was and am fearful of any changes B2P might bring. P2P always guarantees that anyone playing is at the same advantage as the rest. In P2P, time commitment, skill, and in-game choices are the only factors separating players.
I am curious as to what everyone else thinks, because there are other sides to everything.

Unfortunately, the consoles dictated these changes. You can't make PC players pay a sub fee and then either make console players pay no sub fees or make them pay two sub fees (XBox Live/PS Plus and the ESO sub).
The future of this game is certainly bleak. I'm already on the hook for sub fees that will take me into May so I will experience almost two months of the new model. The cash shop with its potions and soul gems portends storms on the horizons as time invested in the game is thrown out the window in favor of anyone willing to pay ZOS to be an instant winner.
Yup imagine how sadly done the fighters and thieves guilds are gonna be?rendolpheb16_ESO wrote: »I'm having a *** day today.

My favorite game become B2P and I'm totally disgusted with the incoming DLC consolish that I just read in the FAQ.
I know there is much worst then this in life, but still a *** day ...
I don't see how dropping the subscription will improve the future content of this game, the futur fix on class & bug.
I'm afraid that customer service will go down pretty fast too.
I'll wait for my final judgement on this game until I see what is really the '' Tamriel Unlimited '', but there is a part of me that know that I'm lying to myself and get enough experience from sub to B2P or F2P model that never ended well ...
the all of the nay sayers leave and new people come and all are happy again some time after and im still here playing and enjoying the game No loss.
Why do people put so much attention onto the bill for the experience being generated? when the game is no longer fun leave its easy as that, to me the reality is simple, no monies being generated to ZOS, no ESO period. If the B2P/P2P model works i am on board if it makes the game unbalanced through play to win options, then i will leave or spend more money either way i still like my time in game.

rubbish FF14 makes you pay a sub on PS4 and if you play any other game online u need PS plus.

I am 99% positive they went with a b2p model simply so they could sell it on the xbox one. So ya consoles stuck it to us. Also why no compensation for people like me who have paid every month? Shouldnt we get the 1500 crowns or whatever for every month we have paid a sub since launch? Yet we get nothing but a screw you from zenimax for being loyal customers.
say you get 10 inspiration a day sub guy gets 10% more wow he gets 11 !I just stupidely resuscribed for 3 month YESTERDAY
I feel betrayed
I feel bad
I feel sad
But I'm trying to not freak out just yet.
I don't mind the fact that you have PREMIUM version, but WTF with 10% XP, gold and inspiration gained THAT'S CHEATING!
I don't mind that unsubbed players have to buy the new content like a Dungeon, or an adventure zone. In that way if they are only interested by Cyrodiil, they do not waste their money for nothing. SO that's the part of the buisness model I'm the most okay with.
I'm VERY SCARED about the cash shop. If they only sell pets and mount okay. Gems and Potion is NOT OKAY. And who tell us if in 6 months they will not slip more into the trap of making more money cause you will always have idiots that are ready to buy stuff to be more powerfull than others.
This cash shop STINK!
Now I'm really laughing at all people sharing their deadhorse screenshot last week. HAHAHAHA
Yes I'm emotional.

From what the FAQ said, we are getting backdated crowns as if it had existed since launch

EDIT: Let me put this in perspective - at the time I voted (including my vote) 66 people voted "dislike" and only 7 voted "like". That is almost 10 times the number disapproving over approving and these are your customers speaking. That doesn't matter. There is a bigger issue here and it is global to all game producers that I won't mention here because I know it will be removed. Suffice to say, it is not a coincidence that the B2P format would come out at the same time as the console roll out.
