ask you anything? ok.. WHY? why did I just drop 25 dollars to buy the new DLC...nothing has changed in the pvp format. it is still unbalanced and not worth playing. I am confident this will be my last DLC for this game and since I have xbox live solely for this game i will no longer be purchasing it.

the breakdown is in how you allow the campaigns to be dominated by a sole alliance. this of course by design, azura star is owned by the dominion, thornblade by ebonhart , skull of corruption by daggarfall. your new campaign, scourge will be owned entirely by ebonhart within an hour of this postings. that's fine i get it, more people get to own the maps. but to wait in a queue for hours just to get in to azura star just to access the new DLC is beyond contempt. to access it through the other campaigns you must sneak across the entire map a dozens times as you are killed constantly at the respawn. or you have to navigate through the many 1 on 1 duels that now take place in the game. you have taken the fun out of this game and made it dreadful to play, i know this because many of my friends have left this game for that reason. its not fun..its dread! and now as i write this from with in the emperial city my character was just transported back to elsweyr. so now i have to sneak back again.

As a PC player, I HAVE to ask.. how did you get that number? Does Sony put that somewhere where PS4 players can see?

@Darlgon Mostly PC player here too... BUT I do have access to a PS4.. and the game for PS4...

So, Playstation accounts have these "trophies" you earn in games. They are the same as the achievements we have in game. They are tied to your playstation account, if you allow - people can see them etc. As well, when you go look at the available trophies for a game, it will tell you the % of players that have earned that trophy. So yeah, it's super available.

Keep into account though, I've heard of people creating 10 user accounts on the same PS4 just to open themselves a guild bank, and the PSN trophy system would take those into account. ALSO on console you can rent the game and make an account, so anyone that rented it and didn't buy it in the end is now also part of that statistic.

[EDIT] In case you didn't know, console is different from PC.. you don't need to pay per account, just for the disc. So I bought the game (transfer actually) so I can play, as well, anyone who comes and signs into their account on the PS4 that has the game.. they can make an account under their own playstation account and play it. (of course, they can't play it when they go home) Just so you don't think people are crazy paying for 10 accounts in my example above ;)

There are two tiers of delves which haven't yet undergone expansion as part of the "Larger Delves" initiative which began in Update 3. Are expansions still on the cards for the 6 small delves in Stormhaven, Rivenspire, Deshaan, Shadowfen, Grahtwood and Greenshade?

So any chance the endurance set will become just as viable as the willpower and the agility set? It would be very simple just change stamina regen to either physical or spell resistance, that way you have a set viable for magicka dps, stamina dps and tanking.

I see in your future having to divide the patch notes up into:

Please pick which DLCs you are playing:

    Base game patch notes
    Imperial City DLC patch notes
    Orcsinium DLC patch notes
    Mrykmire DLC patch notes
    Clockwork City DLC patch notes

@Darlgon I am personally trying to promote the following usage:
    • Update 7 for the base-game patch's new updates and features (like VR16, Vet CoA Pledge, and Cyrodiil gameplay changes), as this applies to all platforms equally and matches the naming conventions and features of Updates 1-6.
    • Imperial City DLC for the new features in IC (like TV Stones and the new quests and dungeons).
    • Patch 2.1.x for PC/Mac-specific bug fixes and tweaks.

So, when we start the game we get "you have already done the dungeons, want to skip?" and come out level 3.

Will we ever get an option "You have a v16 character, would you like to skip the story mode (again)."

I for one am a PVPer and just competed my 2nd now v16 character, I'd like more but it is such a ball ache to level them especially when grinds get nerfed left right and center. Even if you make it to skip to v1 OR to not have to do cadwell silver/gold each time would be a bonus and to start with all zones unlocked that'd be awesome!

Heck, I'd even pay 5,000 crown to level a character from 1 to v16 (available if you already have a v16 character).

Whilst I appreciate you want people to play the PVE content, after the first time it becomes repetitive...

Ooh I too would like this idea, I have six vets all together (4 on pc, 2 on console) and it does get repetitive.

A tutorial is a tutorial, but skipping the entire game you may as well ask them to just throw us in Cyrodiil with everything maxed out so all we can do is PvP from start to finish. Progression is what makes a game worth playing. Don't want to play through the game again? Don't make an alt. That simple...

In short this would should never happen.
    Fixed ;)

Hopefully it doesn't happen....but I've seen worse decisions made.

If you honestly think this is a possibility then I pity you. No gaming company in their right mind would give players the option to skip through all of its content just because they completed it once. If you still believe otherwise then name one game that has, and by game I mean an MMORPG.

World of warcraft, i simply said it does get repetitive and you can't deny that. Also, telling someone not to make alts so they can experience the game with that class/race is contradictory to your statement. you liking this idea or not is irrelevent, it was his idea, I agreed with it, you don't like it? move on and deal with it. simple as that...

Well then that is just one more reason I am glad I never picked up WoW and also explains why they hold those tournaments. Should've known they were compensating for something. As for the rest of what you said if they are going to make an alt just to give it up due to not wanting to bother with the main story then what's the point of making it in the first place? Also whether I like the idea or not is what is irrelevant because the idea in general is stupid in a gameplay vantage point. I could easily go into all the reasons but I will not bother as it is quite the list.

We do need to pay for PS+ or whatever the xbone version is though.

Oddly, PS+ is supposed to be account specific...but as I found out last night, it's entirely possible to play ESO on an account that does not have PS+....as long as one account linked to the PS does have.

Creating another eight accounts (as alluded to above, I have two - EU and NA) seems like a lot of work for a guild bank though...

Is there anything definite, a side from promises, that you can give us (so we can know to stop playing your game today or not), to assure new players or returning players that we can actually close the power gap between ourselves and high cp players in a system where the higher CPs you have the faster you can earn them. Without it costing us real money from the cash shop.

I almost shut off the stream when they finally answered my question.. the ducking around the question talking about bowling pretty much made me think they were trying to avoid telling the bad news of "yes we're planning on raising the cap to VR20 for Orsinium"

But thankfully it's staying VR16. now I can just take a break from the game (and hopefully the loading screen problems will be fixed by then) until Orsinium instead of outright quitting the game for good.

Thats when they stopped calling update numbers and went to the ESO 2.0 thing. Basically, we started at zero when the plain milk became chocolate milk. Its still milk, but it sure isn't the same.
Regardless of what the patch is actually numbered, it's still the seventh update, thus still Update 7. On PC, Tamriel Unlimited is 2.x.y, but on Console, it's 1.x.y.z (for Xbox) and 01.xx (for PS4), so Tamriel Unlimited is used as the general reference name instead of 2.0.

It's like "Imperial City Base Game Patch"; that's a mouthful as it is, referring to the base game update that came with the Imperial City, but it's also misleading because it doesn't actually have anything to do with Imperial City. Thus, Update 7 would have been a more logical name. And what happens if they release a major update that isn't connected to a DLC? For example, Update 9 could be completely focused on adding to the Justice System in preparation for the later release of the Thieves Guild and Dark Brotherhood, which may or may not be Updates 10 and 11; they could be DLCs released without an accompanying major update to the base game.
    • Base Game Updates should continue to use the Update numbering, to be consistent with Updates 1-6.
    • DLCs should use their name.
    • Patch Numbers should be confined to platform-specific changes.

Why is it so hard and sacrificing to gain armor and so easy to remove armor through breaches and penetration. You sacrifice a lot of resources, dps and regen to gain armor and you sacrifice nothing with breaches coupled with penetration traited weapons and passives. Are you ever going to put a cap on how much penetration you can achieve coupled with breeches so that heavy armor is not mostly voided leaving you with nothing but the sacrifices you made to get a high armor value?

Can you change the way tel var stones are awarded upon killing another player while in a group so that healers and people in more support based roles can actually be included in the rewards? This was never an issue with AP, but for TV stones, if you aren't dps'ing the entire time and instead decide to heal group members so you don't wipe, OR so group members don't lose their stones via death, more often than not you'll end up getting no stones. The imbalance is pretty stark - if two groups collide, the dps can literally net thousands of stones each while the healers net <50 stones from the trash mobs that were caught in aoes during the fight.

Can you distribute TV stones to the group rather than single players? Because to be honest, I'll never want to heal or run purges/rapid maneuvers in IC at this rate because you walk away with diddly.

Greetings! Below are the "Ask Us Anything" questions and answers from our latest episode of ESO Live. Enjoy!

@GruntMasher117 - How long does it take to create a new zone in the studio?
For a zone the size of say Glenumbra or Auridon, it took roughly 30 to 33 weeks, including QA time. But for a zone like Orsinium (the upcoming new DLC game pack), it has taken us a bit longer though as its huge!

@Mix - Will there be a costume that is just Cadwell's hat (his cooking pot)? So we could be seen wearing a cooking pot for a helm but the rest of our gear would be whatever we have equipped? I love his helm, but the soul shriven rags get a bit boring
That has actually been discussed as something we might want to do. We’ll take a second look at this.
While answering this question, we would also like to take the opportunity to let you all know that while we do not respond to all requested features and products for the Crown Store on the forums, we read them. We see all of your requests and we take them seriously. We want to let you all know that we can’t always act on the requests and when we can we can’t always react quickly. Please though, keep the conversations going; we do hear you and appreciate the feedback.

@Gidorick - Will we see the "rare shaggy giant centipede herdbeast that can live only at high altitudes" in Orsinium that is spoken of in the Pocket Guide to the Empire, 1st Edition/The Wild Region?
Lady Honnorah af-Lahreq says, “No such beast is mentioned in either De Brazy’s ‘Steeds of Tamriel’ or Luponio’s ‘Mounts of the World,’ so it’s probably safe to regard them as mythical. (I’ve always found the Orcs to be more fanciful than most people think!)"

@silky_soft - When is CP catch up and cap starting?
We are still working hard on the Champion Point catch up and point cap systems. We don’t have a time frame to share yet, but we’re looking forward to getting these new improvements into your hands.

@Acrolas - Why does killing a non-combat animal lock you into combat far longer than a combat mob does?
What you described sounds like a bug. We’ll look into it. Thank you, Acrolas!

@Rhass - What's going on with the politics in western Skyrim? We have heard there is another king claiming to be the true king of all Skyrim and this has caused a political split between the east and west because the Skald-King also makes this claim. Who is this west king?
Phrastus of Elinhir says, “Shortly after the Second Empire dissolved into chaos, High King Logrolf of Skyrim was assassinated. The succession was disputed, and the kingdom of the Nords split into East and West Skyrim, with the west being ruled by the Jarls of Solitude. King Svargrim has ruled West Skyrim since 561, and though aging, is still hale, and shows no desire to give up the throne.”

@Mix - Will Argonian horns ever be allowed to clip through helms? I used a mod "horns are forever" in Skyrim to allow them to do this.
In all likelihood, we will never allow the Argonian horns and adornments to clip through the helms. In our opinion, geometry clipping looks bad. We provide players with a choice of hiding their helm so that can see the head customization options on their characters, or wear a helm. There are too many chances for bad clipping with all of the horn/adornment/helm permutations.

@DRXHarbinger - Does leveling up a skill grant any XP at all? Such as my Medium armor is like level 11, so if I sweat it up to max level will that have yielded any XP gains at all? I know it's easy to boost by jumping in and out of lava etc but just wanted to know if skill leveling / inspiration gains give XP.
Skills level up in a variety of ways. Class abilities rank up as long as the ability is slotted when you gain experience. Armor skills require you to be wearing that type of armor when you gain experience, the more pieces of an armor type slotted the faster it will progress.

@Rhass - Is Daggerfall invading the west part of the Rift (presumably through the pass from Helglen aka Lion's Den)? We also see in Craglorn, near the city of Elinhir at the border to Falkreath, there are Daggerfall with siege weapons and the conversation with them implies invasion beyond the sealed Skyrim gates at that location. Does Falkreath belong to DC at this time?
Phrastus of Elinhir says, “Dear me, no—Falkreath is part of West Skyrim, and its jarl owes allegiance to King Svargrim in Solitude. As I can tell you from personal experience, the Covenant soldiers you see near Elinhir are part of that alliance’s expeditionary force to Cyrodiil, and are holding open the supply lines from Cyrodiil to High Rock.”

@GruntMasher117 - Are there plans to add in new types of weapons or equipment available in the game? (Example: spears)
New weapon types specifically? Not going to rule that out, but we don’t have any plans short term to add spears or something like unarmed combat. Longer term it’s a possibility!

@Hyade - First, can we get the fog pushed back? The fog is constant and thick, and takes away a lot of immersion for me.
In certain situations, the fog is intended to be heavy and thick to contribute to the mood and atmosphere of the region. Aldcroft in Glenumbra, for example, is a spooky and moody place – as are many areas of Tamriel. The fog distances do change based on weather and time of day, and yes, we are able to change them. But, we have set maximum fog distances in each environment to hide other immersion-breaking issues such as LOD (line of distance) transitions, and very low-detail terrain, the worst culprits being the mountains and large rock features in the geography. This is an old issue and something we have been slowly working on addressing.
Additional LODs for all of the environment assets is somewhat prohibitive, but we are working through the problem. We have improved our tree LOD system and our skybox system so that we can have trees draw further in the distance and create the illusion of extended background mountain ranges, so the fog distance in Orsinium (the zone for our next upcoming DLC game pack), is set somewhat farther back than other zones. We would like to go back through the older zones and update them accordingly, but that work is currently lower priority than creating new DLC zones.

@Hyade - Is a DX12 upgrade a possibility in the future? ESO runs pretty darn well, except when there are many things requiring animation on screen at once. My slight understanding of this is that there are too many "draw calls" going out in such situations, and that DX12 handles them drastically better. Right now I run my game on lower settings specifically because of the lower framerate I get in cities, and it sounds like DX12 could improve the situation.
Yes, we are planning on a DX12 upgrade and expect that this will give us a number of graphics performance improvements. We cannot provide an ETA at this time, but it is something we’re working towards.

@CirithValaria - What are your thoughts on making Craglorn dungeons public instead of instanced, but keeping the difficulty as it is. This would make the zone more "solo" friendly and still keep it group based.
We’re focused right now on getting new DLC zones and content ready, so there are no plans right now to go back and make those types of adjustments to Craglorn. Ideally, we would love to revisit Craglorn and make it a bit more solo friendly, where solo players can go. But no promises on if or when that might happen.

@Arato - Will veteran ranks be increased for Orsinium or will it remain VR16 so that PVE players who don't want to buy a PVP dlc can catch up?
Nope – we are not raising the level cap for Orsinium. Orsinium is going to be focused much more on PVE, story, and widening the number of gear options. But that’s all we’ll say for now. Let us catch our breath from Imperial City launch first! Rest assured, we’ll have more news on Orsinium soon.

@dudenamedchris - When will guards be killable?
We don’t have any immediate plans to add this into the game, largely due to the potential for exploitation with the Justice System.

@aneova_ESO - Why did you make it so complex for the newer Motif's? Also, why is so much material needed to upgrade our armor and weapons? 100 is extreme, you'll never be able to update the writs to the new tier if this remains.
There are a few reasons we’ve been splitting up the crafting Motif’s lately. Most importantly, to diversify crafters across the community, at least initially, as players learn individual chapters over time. This provides more niches for more crafters to participate in, and encourages wider overall economic participation. Additionally, we launched with a large number of easy to obtain crafting motifs and we want our crafting community to have aspirational content akin to combat-centric players.
Lastly, for particularly iconic appearances such as Dwemer and Glass, it should feel like a significant accomplishment to unlock the entire motif, given how recognizable and special they are to all of us. That being said, we understand it can feel a bit overwhelming to have to hunt these down across the game and over long periods of time, so we’re looking very carefully at the time investment required to obtain motifs in future DLC content.

In regards to the amount of materials needed for VR16 equipment, the goal was to provide some parity between the challenge of obtaining maximum level gear through non-crafted means (PvP, Dungeons, Quest Rewards, etc) with their crafted equivalents. Any writs we add for this tier will accept VR15 item deliveries which require the much lower amount of raw material.
