I'm not sure if I like the idea of partying and adventuring together with other alliance's members, though... Having a city where all three factions meet but still being able to PVP and quest around would be nice.
The city would have guards, though... That would do their best to prevent any type of conflict on the streets...

It would definitely need to be a flat out PvE zone and any duel implementation (which I personally think should be introduced game-wide) should definitely come with a toggle option for those who do not wish to duel so they won't be spammed with challenges. And there really should be an arena as well where multiple people can fight in small groups AND it should have PvE monsters you can challenge as well and fight against. Betting with in-game gold should be enabled and there should be some very cool rewards for the victorious fighters. And spectating, of course!
Absolutely, I feel the same way. All of Tamriel should have been a flat out PvE zone where all factions can interact/see each other, obviously each faction would start off in their own zones and then can venture out to the other factions' zones regardless of level (especially since enemies now scale to your level), and doing that would make ESO more open world (and less theme-parky), to be able to venture to wherever you would like to travel/quest/RP/grind in, or whatever else suits your tastes.
PvP/duel implementation, like you said, could also have a toggle feature to protect lower level/non-PvP players from the usual griefers. I'd like to be able to engage with other faction players in more ways than just blowing each other up, setting each other on fire and pelting each other with arrows in Cyrodiil. I feel like a lot of RP and social interaction opportunities are just lost by splitting the whole ESO player base into 3, especially since the zones aren't as bustling as they were at launch (which, of course, happens in every MMO.)

Tis a lawless and dangerous place where you can drink with your enemies from other factions and encourage them to turn traitor... where that Daggerfall Covenant hero can meet secretly with his Aldemeri Dominion sweetheart who works for Razum Dar... where everyone is out from under the eyes of their respective kingdoms. Would you want to visit such a place? Or would you avoid it like the plague?

yes that's what i voted.
it's called Vvardenfell, open world pvp. not hard to implement.
Big fat no to open world PVP. A lot of us would prefer not to be ego fodder for PVPers who won't stick to players who actually want to fight with them. There simply will not be any peaceful RP there if griefers can come bust it up anytime they like. The point of an idea like this one is social.
Keep the aggressive antisocial behavior in it's playpen. It's fun when you want to fight, though.

Also, I would like this area to be where player housing would be held. That way you have a reason to be friendly with the people you're meeting up with (you're neighbors!) instead of just seeing them and saying "I don't hate you anymore, lets go get an ale from the local tavern!" right before you both venture into cyrodil to kill each other :-P

Say you're in a bar and let's be honest, you've had a few too many argonian ales, and you start getting lippy with another player... the player says "Take a swing bro!" and you stand up and /lean into him saying "Nah bruh, you take a swing!" and then he offers you a duel in the middle of the bar. If every player had a simple variable, lets say "isPvPTarget" as a Boolean (true or false for those who don't know what I'm talking about), when this offer is accepted then you both get the "isPvPTarget = true" set, and you two can harm each other so you duke it out right there in front of all the other players in the inn, put on a little show, maybe toy with the lesser mortal. I think that would be simply BA and not very hard to implement?

This would be OK as long as you could turn duel invites off, so you'd never see them - otherwise there would be the chance of a whole new kind of griefing as some folks would no doubt find it funny to spam duel challenges to everyone in sight, continually.
You have to make it jerk-proof. Because there will always be jerks.
I would like to see cross faction queing for dungeons and trials, but I don't think we need a specific get together zone.

We need a neutral territory, somewhere there the powers that be have simply said, "Oh no, we're not part of your silly little war. ANYONE may come here."

The war is pretty dumb. As you go through each faction, none of the three leaders even seem to want to rule the empire. They mostly just don't trust or like each other. There would be all sorts of places that are isolated by geography or political insignificance that want nothing to do with the fight. Not just pirates and criminals but wealthy merchant cities who keep the armies out to protect their sales to all three.

Ohhhhh! Okay this TOTALLY MUST BE the first Expansion! ESO Free States! An entire huge faction zone where there ARE NO FACTION BARRIERS! There could be a merchant city zone with a huge port, a very fancy noble zone, my wild pirate island chain, a mage citadel area...oh the possibilities are endless! And THIS could be the leveling alternative to Cadwell's Silver and Gold for Vet 1 through 10 AND have the long sought after SOLO CONTENT for Vet 12 to 14... or whatever the hell they're going to call it once the Champion System finally rolls in!

Thanks. It's the things like this that would add layers of complexity and interest to the game experience. I think we have lots of growing pains ahead of us. I hope they can get justice right when it comes out.
Yeah....I'm a little bit terrified of the Justice System myself right now. I WISH they would give us some more concrete info on how they envision it working.

Housing here would be pretty awesome but frankly I think we're more likely to see a cross-faction area before we finally see housing. That's just a guess though. And drinking with the people you're about to go kill is pretty cool! LOL But this is exactly why I envision such a place as a seedy, lawless and crime-ridden area. It would cater to the outlaws in all 3 factions, those underhanded sorts who see war as a means of personal gain rather than an epic struggle of good vs. evil. If you ARE a "good guy" and you are there, it's probably because you're trying to get vital information of one sort or another for your side and that's the sort of thing I'd like to see the quests revolve around in addition to the black market and skooma trade kind of stuff.diabeticDemon18 wrote: »I agree that open world PvP would be bad, but would it be hard for them to implement a "duel" system or something similar?
