Until recently, ESO had the best MMO business model I had seen. Base game purchase + chapter/DLC purchases and you never felt forced to pay further. The subscription always felt to me like an optional way to improve convenience and give you access to smaller DLCs you didn't feel like buying. The crown store felt fair. Even crown crates, which I normally wouldn't agree with, felt fair because of crown gems and the endeavor system. The endeavors felt like a fun, quick way to earn some currency to save over time to buy cosmetics here and there without being forced to pay real-world money. Not to mention the fact that the "Year of the ..." model and chapters also created a hype cycle every time, which would encourage me to get back into the game and feel like playing a lot again.
When golden pursuits began, I remarked on Steam that I was not happy but ZOS_Kevin encouraged us to give it a try. I gave it a fair try and at first, it wasn't horrible. But over time, they grew closer and closer to what I feared they'd be. Then, ever since we moved away from chapters, I have had zero hype for any new content whatsoever. This is only going to get worse with the seasons model, with the way it pressures FOMO and grinding content in specific ways.
I play video games to escape from real-world stress and tedium. I play ESO to explore and live in Tamriel.
I do not want to play a game the way the developer tells me to play just so I don't miss out on exclusive items that I may or may not ever be able to obtain again.

To me, the warden is all about nature. From the rework graphic, it will be about the seasons. Which is more than winter. So I doubt everything is going to be ice themed. That would be pretty uncreative.ESO_Nightingale wrote: »We may even see it earlier than this with the monthly "what the devs are working on" streams.
I hope we see it soon. I feel pretty good about the other stuff coming this year (story questline, solo dungeons, tomes, sage's vault, etc.). But none of it will matter to me if the reworked warden isn't fun or I lose my bear (without another cool pet to take its place, though I do like my bear).
What makes you think they'll remove the bear? Its the most iconic part of warden.
As a Bosmer player, I reallyGreenspeaker’s Garb .
However, why is Lizard wearing it on promo picturewhen it has nothing with them?
I know I'm just one irrelevant person but If that picture is going to be used in Crown Store, I'm not going to buy out of principle as this is lore offending.
Bosmer race is only one shafted racially for PvE with useless PvP passive*, and now this cultural appropriation. If that was an Altmer person, I could rationalize it as they are culturaly and genetically most similar to Bosmer, but Lizard? Really?!
*I remember very well, this was done to boost Cats for Elsweyr Chapter and is lore breaking.
Oh, yes, and Cats got two Companions, too, and some other races still on zero.
