No.

Because it was dumb having to download the game two times in order to play on EU or NA.

we only had to download/install the game once and can play on both EU and NA servers.

What works for me:

Get to login screen.
Select NA server and ACCEPT.
Select EU server and ACCEPT.

Yes, but on the PC version you had to redownload the entire game again if you wanted to change region. Which is what they fixed now in the new client.

And that's exactly why you won't see this issue on PS4.

Sigh what a bloody disaster...

So they rename the EU folder in documents, create a new Live folder without any AddOns.
If you login like that, chars will be there, but no addons and you again get all the crap videos when starting the game.

So what do people do, copy the archive folder to the new live folder. Now when you start, it will put you on the US server and you will have no characters. You also get the activation mail most likely.
The game client will say Live EU but the message of the day will show US. Just toggling between the 2 will not change anything. What you need to do is toggle to Live, then back to Live EU and then WAIT until the message of the day will change to the EU message.

After that you can login, but that's not all... since the game is now in a new location, anything that depends on the .exe will also be fuxx0r'ed.. can imagine some people loading custom keybinds / mouse setups depending on active .exe, so that might need an update.

In my case, I got the "camera drift" issue again. That can be fixed by going to the game client exe, right mouse, properties then in Compatibility Settings turn on "Disable display scaling on high DPI settings". (probably only an issue for people with 4K monitors)

Unbelievable this went out without some notes or testing!!

(heck dunno why I bother... Bind on Equip, lag and ever increasing CP...bad bad bad!)

No, I have the problem too. I do not switch between the servers as I have no chars on the NA server. At client startup the menu will show that the EU server is selected BUT the NA MOTD is shown and when I do log in I get the NA server. It can be solved by deleting the usersettings.txt file before EVERY client startup.

You have to explicitly select live, then select live-eu then wait.

In another thread someone joked about EU players being second class citizens... this isn't helping

What really didn't help was ZOS releasing the change to the launcher before fixing the server display on the initial launcher screen. Because it says NA when they want EU players are hopping up and down before they even get to the option to select Live - EU. Of course they could always read the patch notes, but it would help enormously if this particular bug had been squashed before the change was made.

I also happen to think it's a mistake to make major launcher/version client changes at the same time as a major game update. They should be kept separate.

Fortunately I have managed to get the launcher and game updates installed (after an unannounced and very unwelcome forced restart of the computer) and have logged in ok to the EU server where my characters were waiting for me but apart from the computer restart and having read the patch notes I still had to do a lot of reading of multiple forum threads and rename a game folder in order to reach that stage. It smacks of inadequate testing and a bad decision to release game client, launcher and Update 12 changes all together.

One time I log I get my 8 characters
Another time I log I get character creating screen and clean account
Also no addons installed like they were flushed away from my game by the patch, my Minion finds nothing.

I expected few bugs, but this logging issue annoys so much, this is a major flaw not some minor in-game problems with lag or monsters...

I had this issue also. Logged in to the very latest server (just logged out because of lag issues), and when I logged back in, the intro came into my face, then loading screen, then the character creation-screen. Tried several times to log back, then occasionally could back to EU-server, and my characters were there. Then logged out to try the 64-bit client. Again intro and clear roster. Almost got a heart-attack. Or surely it was. Then suddenly went well. Now I don't dare to logout.

Funny thing... for me it showed a character I first created and deleted right away exactly one year ago. I deleted all my character in order to start fresh now, but had this deleted character in the list from before, so I deleted it again.

That's one hell of a thing to happen... I bet ZOS keeps the characters from long ago somewhere in their databases

You need to go into Documents > Elder Scrolls Online and copy them from the live_archive folder into live.

Yes, I confirm. It takes a bit until you see under the Announcement that the megaserver was switched. Initially I was login in/out, switching to NA login in/out then switch to EU and login. But the solution from Gina is faster. Looking fwd for the bugfix.

BTW, One Tamriel looks awesome. Good job!

i'm facing the same problem. i selected EU server, I'm quite sure of it and i lost all my 7 characters.

i tried to restart the computer, tried to remove all addons, and tried many logins without any luck $:\$

after you change to the EU server, look in the Announcement section and wait until you see there EU megaserver, not the NA. It will take a bit to change. It is not immediate.

Considering the game doesn't work since 9 am today, which means the whole working day, the ESO PLUS should be officially elongated for 1 more day - if problem was caused by ZOS', not the players and it wasn't permanently solved for the whole damn day.

GG Zos really manage to mess this one up...again. no characters, all settings gone, all addons gone

Luckily I had copies of all the ini files and save folders
Managed to sort it out in the end, but the obvious fault was a not properly named folder by you guys

EDIT NO still cant get on done everything in this thread and alot more, can only get NA server, and get character creation screen, will not log EU at all

Also I have 3 "live' folders

"live"
"live_,,,"
"liveeu"
so which one is EU save folder ?????????????????

Typically everything been set up for NA f**k EU they can sort it out themselves....thanks...............

Same problem as others.

First time I logged in, selected Live EU and all worked fine.

2nd time motd said NA and characters were gone. Tried selecting EU time and time again, no luck

Followed instructions from another player to log into Live (na) first, then log out, then reselect Live EU and yay my characters are back.

Presume I have to do this every time till its fixed
