1.3 Massive nerf to DKs. No range abilities, and now Talons is 100% useless in PvP = kite all DKs.

Congratulations ZOS, you officially broke PVP with basically giving perma immunity to all roots in the game (Encase, Talons etc).

This effects DKs the worst since they are a melee class with zero range abilities and DEPEND on roots to actually avoid getting kited constantly.
Their "class gimmick" is talons, which is now 100% useless in pvp thanks to all the nerfs to radius, damage, and now making the skill a complete joke in the end with 1.3.

As a DK, the new class gimmick will be "please kite me with your range spells until I die".

This also affects abilities like flame lash that depend on roots to actually work, which is yet another huge nerf.

This is also a big nerf to ESO PVP overall, since roots in the game like encase, talons etc was part of the pvp tactics when playing against other raids.

6 player AoE cap, and now this.
ZOS is slowly destroying ESO PvP, dumbing it down more and more, and it is becoming the zergfest that made Guild wars 2 fail in the end.

    Good change I'd say.
    Force weapon swap to have priority over EVERYTHING. Close enough.
    Make stamina builds even with magicka builds.
    Disable abilities while holding block.
    Give us a REASON to do dungeons more than once.
    Remove PVP AoE CAP. It is ruining Cyrodiil.
    Fix/Remove Forward Camps. They are ruining Cyrodiil.
    Impenetrability needs to REDUCE CRIT DAMAGE. Not negate entire builds.
    Werewolf is not equal to Vamps/Bats.

    Literally every strategy against other raids is, DK run in hit talons, drop Standard, and everyone spam Impulse, while the DK spams Talons... Throw in an oil pot and you have a party...

    That, in my opinion was one of the biggest problems with the PvP, there was literally no strategy involved it is all about clustering up and spamming roots and impulse...

    This is a good change, should make people use more ST abilities and hopefully get rid of some of the mindless AoE spam.

    Its not that roots have an immunity timer now.

    Its that any CC (stun, knockback, etc) gives immunity to all CC. So the stun from invasion now gives immunity to the talons. This also affects all classes, by the way, not just DKs. i.e. Crystal Shard will now prevent Encase, Bolt Escape stun will now prevent roots, etc.

    The only "CC" (notice the quotes) that has no immunity now is slows.

    It's crap like this that turned my DK into just a crafter. He's worthless otherwise.
    Great job on killing the class, ZOS.

    On a side note, Iam_Epiphany, reflective scales is bugged and costs the user whatever stamina/mana the reflected ability costs.

    Heck, all of my CC is useless in PVP accept Volcanic Rune. With reflective scales, its your fault if my Sorc kills you. I get killed by DK's quite a bit because I use a lot of Single Target CC and DPS. They make me get knocked with my own fragments and lightning, then they run up and beat my face.

    DK's also have extended leash to pull me up when I try to flee, and Dark Talons is still a prime tool to force me to use my Stamina to CC, meaning no Silver Bolt, Dark Conversion, Sprinting away, you drain my Stamina to nothing and if I can find a way out you have Leash and another Talons to freeze me for the kill.

    You don't get CC immunity if you don't CC break though. So if you Streak over people they'll have to pay half their stamina in cost, to get the CC immunity and lose all other CC too (like talons, encase etc). I wonder do you get CC immunity if you roll too? So does rolling out of Talons/Encase give you immunity to a shield knockdown or crystal fragments?

    For the Streak-loving Sorc the combo of Caltrops + Streak is still potent as hell and much better than Encase.

    I dunno if it's gloom and doom for my DK yet. In EU we haven't got the patch, but I'll try tomorrow to see how it works.

    Honestly I have to say I don't care, as making pvp dependent on stun locking somebody into not having a chance to fight at all isn't exactly fun. So less stunning means more fighting and using other abilities.

    OMG really! OH NO! My DK wont be able to perma root everyone around me constantly as my standard and impulse burn em down as I spam reflect and green blood till I win! Darn.. Someone besides Sorc's may get away for a few seconds.. cause the immunity only lasts seconds.. I guess I'll have to go NB vamp with a bow for OP range stealth kills.. Yes DKs only have limited range.. 20+ meters and others get 30+ but up close DKs are a force to be reckoned with.. so this is a really good balance to ALL CC.. noone should be able to perma stun/root/disable/confuse/snare the crap outa everyone..     And amongst all classes except DKs, there was much rejoicing...

    Seriously, you had to see this coming. Talon/Standard spam was getting very monotonous, and went on for far too long. If anything came close to ruining PvP, it was that (well, ok, and vampires at first too... but that got nerfed relatively quick).

    Can't wait to fire up some PvP now!

    Are you guys sure? You still have to CC break to gain the immunity. The problem has been that you try to CC break and nothing happens. They way I see it, the CC stacking that causes the CC Break to bug would probably be unaffected by this change.

    I am not a pvper, but I have been wondering how they can balance Talons that roots you and Ash storm?
    For medium duration:
    - enemies standing in ash storm are snared 70% and gain 30% miss chance
    - allies may use the ash shroud synergy to avoid all attacks for 4s

    Again, Im not a pvper, but DKs root 6? (Thought it was 8?) targets, reduces their hit chance, being snared, increased by synergy and pops ultimate to survive?

    As long as these abilities work, having countermethods against such powerful debuff of a group of soldier seams like balance to me. Nerf? No.

    When breaking a CC, you consume stamina right? Quite a lot? So whats the problem?

    I have a serious question.....why do people come here and yell about it, before they tried to adapt and try something else instead?
