1.3 Massive nerf to DKs. No range abilities, and now Talons is 100% useless in PvP = kite all DKs.

    Has the unbreakable stun been fixed through this? Logically, I`d assume it hasn`t been, because breaking out would be required to apply immunity (which is not possible when catched not blocking, since invasion knockdown & talon root is applied at almost the same time), right?

    So the real issue with DK`s (and other classes`) CC hasn`t been adressed but people are celebrating for no real reason?

    From the 1.3.3 patch notes:

    Congratulations ZOS, you officially broke PVP with basically giving perma immunity to all roots in the game (Encase, Talons etc).

    This effects DKs the worst since they are a melee class with zero range abilities and DEPEND on roots to actually avoid getting kited constantly.
    Their "class gimmick" is talons, which is now 100% useless in pvp thanks to all the nerfs to radius, damage, and now making the skill a complete joke in the end with 1.3.

    As a DK, the new class gimmick will be "please kite me with your range spells until I die".

    This also affects abilities like flame lash that depend on roots to actually work, which is yet another huge nerf.

    This is also a big nerf to ESO PVP overall, since roots in the game like encase, talons etc was part of the pvp tactics when playing against other raids.

    6 player AoE cap, and now this.
    ZOS is slowly destroying ESO PvP, dumbing it down more and more, and it is becoming the zergfest that made Guild wars 2 fail in the end.

    How are you even going to kill DK with ranged attacks at all ?
    Did you ever heard about reflect skills ? You just kill your self if you try to attack DK with ranged attacks.

    K now sorc vamps can go in a zerg & spam bat + elemental explosion, NB can 3 shot you with arrows & stealth engage without you even having time to get up, templars can just stay in the middle of 10 players without dying & making toons of damge, and DKs have... Nothing. Oh yean they can pull the enemies near the other classes with a skill that is buged since last nerf and they can return projectiles.

    I hope people asking for nerfs on DK are happy it's the worst class in PVP now and stop asking for nerfs.

    Isn't the idea of a melee class that you play melee and not just spamming ranged abilities? People really think that Zenimax dislikes a certain class or something like that. Everyone is screaming for patches, balance (can't break anything because of the 'lore' though) but when the patch comes, people start crying about 'nerfs'. Name me one MMO where classes haven't been 'nerved'.

    Templars, NB & sorcs have combos that are as deadly as the DK's that aren't nerfed because:
    #1: DK is the most popular class so it's more visible
    #2: Players playing those classes that don't know about these op combos where prolly busier crying in forums asking for DK nerf instead of actually learning how to play the game.

    Actually, 2handed's Brawler effect does have a (Limited) ranged/aoe effect (and it restores Health, too)

    It is so funny to see how many DKs just admited, that their only skill is talons spam :-). Brainless usage of AOE ability. If ZOS continues this approach and get rid of aoe crap completely ESO may evolve into something It was supposed to be from the start. For now...Chivalry is the place where I can enjoy epic medieval combat :-)

    Just wait until someone has used up their stamina desperately trying to kite you while you heal, restore stamina and reflect everything back at them.

    DK's are as strong as they were before, it's just now they have to think with more than a single brain cell.

    - Zenimax implements more bugs from patch to patch
    - Zenimax does not care about the increasing instability of the game. People have more and more crashes Fix of memory bug decreased number of crashes considerably
    - Zenimax has still not fully fixed the fps drops they (!) implemented with patch1.2.3
    - Zenimax does nothing to fix the massive ability lags in PvP
    - Zenimax gives more attention to unnecassary 'content' like dyes for armors than fixing issues
    - In patchnotes Zenimax lies about bugs allegedly fixed
    - Zenimax has no plan as to how balance population in Cyrodiil campaigns
    - Support is ineffective and does not even speak in a way one can linguistically understand

    Ditto. Ive been running with many underdog skills, like carve lol, just trying to make them work somehow and sometimes they do.

    That Invasion-Talons-Standard-talons-talons-talons was loser tactic. Glad people will be forced to use some other skills for a change.

    Still some spam garbage to fix tho, like impulse and funnel health, and now the newly added blazing shield lol.

    while funnel health (or swallow soul for me) is fairly effective I'm not sure it needs to be nerfed. The damage itself isn't going to one shot you and it doesn't lock you where you can't gap close to the person and take them out. It's a nice ability, but hardly overpowered.

    If anything, when I have it slotted I feel weaker because I usually am running a heal spec and just spamming that for damage kills people way slower than the crits I would be getting from my other class skills.

    I mean spamability. Too many skills like talons use to be are 1 button'ers. I've gotten killed by a nightstick that did nothing but funnel health and that was all that was on my recap, each for over 650 damage. It just lacks the need for skill to have that 1 ability you can hit multiple times and win.

    Bull crap, that's light armour and spell penetration. It's nothing more than that, and frankly the only reason most Nightblades run around in a dress and a staff using it is because in this broken game light armour and a staff is the way to go.

    An Awesome vote from me mate.

    ESO in beta wasn't that bad, and there wasn't the powercreep of the high level class abilities.

    I will vividly remember some sword fights that lasted many minutes between level 10-14 toons back then. Rarely used any magicka spells, and straffing along with hitting with light & heavy attacks was all that was needed for awesome experience.


    Maybe ZoS should consider cut the Magicka pool by 2/3 when in Cyrodiil, if you do not wear full 7/7 light. Remove the Spell Penetration stats (in Cyrodiil), and is your choice to be a squishy target in light armour, or a mighty warrior in Heavy armour, wielding a Great Axe chopping heads.

    Unbelievable, 3 pages of schadenfreude from people who got hurt by DKs (I am no DK btw.). The only important question to ask, would be:

    Has the unbreakable stun been fixed through this? Logically, I`d assume it hasn`t been, because breaking out would be required to apply immunity (which is not possible when catched not blocking, since invasion knockdown & talon root is applied at almost the same time), right?

    So the real issue with DK`s (and other classes`) CC hasn`t been adressed but people are celebrating for no real reason?

    CC was fine, unbreakable CC combos were not...

    Bugged CC breaks is an even bigger cause of rage for a lot of people. Talons you can roll out of. But when a Sorc Streaks you while a DK Talons you, will you be able to break the CC and get out, or are you just stuck and facing an unavoidable death?

    Has anyone tested the reliability of the CC break on the NA Server post update?

    A creative DK should be able to find one or two other skills to use until talon immunity drops again, if they must insist on spamming it.

    Thanks for the update. Still crap then...

    I got a feeling it might be the animation being queued that causes the problem. I've seen videos of people getting the CC immunity animation (wind around feet) before the CC break animation has even played and before the player has regained his ability to move. They need to do some serious testing and sort that shiz out.

    On another note, funny how most people are happy to ignore probably the most important issue regarding CC and just create/visit threads to QQ, troll, or simply get one over other people. Sigh
