Console text chat discussion

Dear Zos-
Please reconsider a Chat Box for those that want it. Make it a option at least. I was logged into the game for about 30 min and had to turn off voice chat because it was really bad. From feedback from others mics to the person constantly yelling and saying the game sucks etc. It is great when in a guild or with a group, but part of the game is interacting with random people to sell/trade items and the voice channel will need to be open to do this and it just is a mess. Give us the option to have chat box and let the end user decide if we want to use it or have it closed.
Please reconsider this decision.

Yes please. Would like a chat box for just that those random meetings outside of guilds or party. Need this bad for zone chat and just meeting players for first time. Not everyone apparently can speak on a mic either from what I'm seeing. Most of the time I hear burps , fart sounds, or someones kids yelling across the living room. One guy when we were all grouped fighting the anchors said some stuff but that was the only time. Been on this game since yesterday so maybe time will tell. Please just give us a chat box. LOL and for some reason my client keeps telling me that voice chat is now in maint or there is a config issue. Neither of which can I confirm at this time.6

Naivefanboi✭✭✭✭Ditto same here currently have no way of finding of players in cyrodil aside from waiting at wayshrines or running around jist searching lol.
With a chat log i could simply asking if anyone is in the zone,lfg ect.2 -

SpiralSageSoul ShrivenI don't even care if I have to deal with gold farm spam, I need to be able to type to communicate with people in MMOs. The voice chat is a novel feature on paper and I applaud the devs for implementing it, but so far its been more irritating than useful.9 -

On PC I can just ask in zone chat and several people show up in a minute.

Yup been spending all day looking for people to pvp with, theres people on the leaderboards in my faction, i jist cant find then lol.3 -

Peeps check out the forums respective to your console.
You should easily have 40+ friends online since last night not counting guilds.
No way you should have any problems find Ppl to play with.
I only have 200+ friends on Xbox One but over 41 have been online playing this at some point since midnight.
Check out pols friends lists that you're playing with too.
There are so many ppl right now.

Actually for dc faction pvp on ps4, theres not many on or even recruiting in forums. Just have to run to burst keeps see if theres and 1 there ...lol0 -

Hawk269✭✭✭The friends list is also completely broken making communicating and grouping even worse. I have 36 friends on the Xbox One Dashboard showing they are currently in the game. But in the "in-game" friends list it says I have 7 online out of 32. I then tried joining a friend through the Xbox Live "Join Friend" that is playing in the same zone, same faction and when the game loaded it said the person did not exist, even though they are actively playing.
So on the PC version, I can easily join 5 guilds in under 20min or so. Took me the better part of 4 hours to join one on the console because the communication tools are so broken or non-existent. I just don't get how you can even sell things out in the open with voice only. How many players are going to know what level an item or what attributes an items has that you are trying to sell if you can't show it to them?
While I am enjoying the console version, it feels very detached and very non-social due to no chat box.5 -
I'm sure some will try and sway the devs to add text chat by just saying 'nobody's on' lol. Plenty of peeps on both PS4 and X1...but it is day one, so even more will be on after login issues etc
So grab a mic and enjoy the console version. I'm offended that ur offended....

✭You all know theirs a looking for group tool in game right.Just use that to find a group its not hard people.Even with text chat most people won't use it look at neverwinter its hardly every used other then for gold spam.Voice chat been fine for me and I haven't really experience nothing nearly as bad as other players.The game only been out for a day give voice chat a chance.3 -

I love your eagerness to convey a positive spin, but even the friends list within the game is broken. Go to the tech forums, there is thread of many having issues where on the dashboard it shows people playing, but in the game they are not. You can' even join in on their game due to some technical issue.
I want to be positive about the game too, but seriously Blacksmurf, it has some issues right now. It is not as simple as you say "jump in on the fun". Believe me, many of us have been trying, but it is not happening.1 -
lol, game just released on consoles today...having a little patience with a dose realism helps I'm having login issues and have been for a few hrs...not smashing the big red staples button on day one over it

1)Chat box for console should be DLC
2)Chat box still not fully tested on PC
3)Google will do for you "OK TESO...Grind me till 50"

This is/has more than its PC version (but it's launch)
Just me but I left PC mainly for three reasons.
1 text box mess (and what comes with it)
2 controller support

What about the ONLY (and I do mean ONLY) sensible option of having both Text Chat and Voice Chat as viable options on all platforms.
