I have been trying all day to complete this quest. I have done EVERYTHING suggested in this and all the other forums and nothing is working. I have experienced all the glitches, the screeching in my face, the drop kill, and the stand still. I am at a loss.....

I just did it and it worked for me. He spazzed out for a sec but it went through and I was able to complete the quest.

At least they pushed the hotfix out today, cause they already wrote the code to fix it last week, but how the hell do you guys manage to push the same bug out twice that hinders any progression into vet content? Who's ever job it is to check this stuff needs to get fired and you need to hire someone who knows what they are doing.

same probem here, pulled up then dropped down and cant do anything other than reload.

I had the same problem as most ppl here..MB pulled me up then droped me back down and i was ******. tried to relogg/reloadui, port nothing worked. I wrote bug report and mail....got response on mail with a suggestion that i should try to logg completely out off the game, wait 10+min then logg inn and do a repair on client.....i did that and IT WORKED...happy days.
Hope this can help out others. And thanks to Dev for responding, and helping out.

You shouldn't have to "try again and hope you get lucky" this is rediculous. This bug needs to be fixed. Way to block players from veteran content. So pissed right now.

Wow. I'm insulted by the ineptitude of the folks running this game. The programming is bad; however, I realize there is almost certainly much more to it than that simple theory. I feel certain this is just another example of how corporations fail the people that work for them and purchase from them. I feel certain the programmers involved with this game are ashamed of what they have been forced to put forth as 'finished' product. There is simple no doubt in my mind that some corporate butthat bean counter is likely overworking the programmers and giving them idiotic, unrealistic deadlines. Not only that, the butthat in question clearly couldn't write enough code to get a blank, black screen to simple write 'Hello' on it. This franchise has been forced to take a terrible hit due to the antics of morons such as this.

I have two V1 alts that had both yet to finish Cold Harbor and the Molag Bal final fight. One finished it in the knick of time this morning before maintenance. Whew...nice I thought. This afternoon, I'm back home and decided to run my other through it. The toon has been parked in Cyrodiil for quite some time, but I want to get the soulstrike ability. So, same day mind you, I go to fight Molag Bal. This isn't week 1. This isn't month 1. This isn't a brand new character. This isn't a limited time Zenimax has been given to do something about this quest. Nonetheless, I run up the stairs to face Molag, and I'm picked up, only to be dropped with no 'x' ever showing. I took all my armor off so I wouldn't be forced to pay the ridiculous repair costs caused, in this instance which is one of many like it, which is purely caused by inept programming. I rezzed multiple times running up the stairs, disabling addons, reloading, and what not only to repeatedly have the exact same experience. This is really inexcusable at this point. It is fortunate they do not have a money back guarantee, for I'm sure they'd be bankrupt by now had they one. Lucky for them, I and those that served with me took our jobs much more seriously while we were deployed overseas than they appear to do. Imagine if this were life support software instead of gaming software. Would YOU want Zenimax to write it?

The bug of being unable to cut him in half at the end of the fight differs from the bug that is currently a repeat problem, both are solved different ways.... What should really be asked is, how can they not have the final quest in the main story line that allow players to progess to veteran content spit shined, and polished. But instead have constant reoccuring bugs since launch.

FYI, a quick fix for users stuck when trying to cut him in half at the end is to delete all quests in your journal except the main quest and do it again. Have tested this with multiple users, multiple characters, and after having each character attempt 5+ times with sacrificing a different NPC each time. As soon as the quest journal was cleared, it was a flawless run for each friend/character that had this problem.

I've done that quest and still got the dropped bug.

Sure 'bugs happen' on release but by now there shouldn't be a single such critter anywhere NEAR any of the critical path quests in the game, NONE!

Yeah, I think the worst part for me is that they've pushed out a hotfix for it several times. Then they patch the game and it's broken again. Do they forget to add the hotfix each time as well? I'm really starting to lose my patience which is a shame because I enjoy this game a lot.
