Companion mounts repeatedly reset to default

This seems very new to me, but looking at the forums it was happening around the end of the year, too. All of my companions seem to be resetting their selected mount to default. I don't know what triggers it or when its taking place exactly, but it seems to be happening to all of them. Repeatedly.

... it's the same on Playstation with my companions.
The error came back with the Nightmare Market ...

Same problem. All companions I used at Night Market has reset their mounts to default

Last time it happened it was tied to visiting Hiddenpring Cottage home while your companion is out.

I think this time it is tied to visiting the Night's Den home while your companion is out.

If my assumption is right, this same bug could present itself again when they release next homes - would be nice for them to fix it for good.

Try and test it yourself.

EDIT: ok, it resets even without entering Night's Den. Does it have to do with Night Market anyway?

Not sure why but this happens rarely to me. Once every few months or so it seems - dating back to way before Nightmarket.

All companions which I used in Market have reset their mounts and costumes/outfits to default... Now I don't remember what they were wearing and which mount I assigned to them, this is a little infuriating

In my case I noticed every single time I enter Night Market with Isobel out, or if I take her out after already being inside it, her mount resets.

Her costume has never reset until now, for me... Didn't check outfit.

It resets to default upon entering the Night Market. I just tried it out. No change after visiting Night's Den, but changes upon entering NM.

My companions keep resetting to their original costumes too. (I usually don't mess with their mount, only their costume) It seems like it happens when I have the companion active then join a full group of 12. The forced un-summoning of the companion seems to trigger the bug.

This. It's not only the mounts but their costumes as well, both reset to default. Very annoying.

This is still happening. Why is this still happening? Most unsleek for khajiit's very good friend Zerith Var to suffer the ignominy of riding a dungy horse instead of his most sleek and delightful Senche-Raht Ahz-m'Athra who is most definitely not a minion of Namiira.

Definitely having this issue with both the outfit and the mount resetting, but it happens a lot more often to the mount, for whatever reason.

There's no real pattern that I can discern. I thought it was because of the Night Market, but I just had it happen, and I logged in a few minutes ago without having gone to the NM at all. I did change zones on this occasion, but I think it might have happened without a zone change before this, though I can't confirm as of this moment. Will be keeping a closer eye on it and edit/add a fresh post if I notice any relevant details.

Experiencing just the same bug. Can't figure out the pattern, but the reset seems to occur randomly after changing zones.

Had the same problem on top of that the mount used by my companion disappeared from my purchased mounts.
Luckly it was one associated with a dlc preorder so after sending the recipit ZOS support had to return it.

Khajiit has found that if you go to NM and bring out your companion while there, then for any other character the mount will be reset on that companion, whether they have ever gone to NM or not.

Yes, it's a Night Market bug.
Each time you visit Night Market with active companion, the game resets companion mount to default.

When you visit for example Trial or Dungeon, the companion mount menu stays usable. (nothing affects the custom setting)

When you visit Night Market, the companion mount menu is completely greyed out. (it zeroes custom setting)

So devs use two different systems to enforce mount usability for Night Market versus other areas.
It's badly made, yes.

If I remember correctly, there is at least one if not two recent homes that have the same bug - presumably for the same reason.

Never had a problem with their costumes but it happens with the mounts CONSTANTLY. It’s particularly frustrating when I actually got a hazardous alchemy Vvardvark from the crown store specifically for Sharp as Night and he keeps swapping back to his default
