As the OP I would like to ask that this thread be closed.

It has simple degraded to the point of ridiculous bickering.

ZOS has been fully informed of the issue and it has been discussed to death for a month. It is the #1 viewed and discussed thread on the entire forums but I would delete it if I had the ability and walk away. However as long at it is open and people are attacking me and accusing me of exploiting it is honestly just creating issues and frustration.

Let it be done with thanks.

Um, you do know that the forums show when you've edited a post, right? And you do know that every single one of your posts from today clearly shows that it's been edited either by you (in most cases) or by a ZOS staffer (in 2 cases)? So yeah, I'd be willing to bet that Milanna was talking about those edits... And yes, I saw some of those posts before the edits, and they were definitely not OK.

Simple solution:
- Classify the containers as small/medium/large depending on the amount of points invested in the hireling skill.
- Someone with skill 20 would receive a level 20 (medium) container.
- Chance of rare materials depends on combination of level/size.

No need to change how the mail works, if the containers would have their own level you could open them with any character you want.

further interesting that all these threats of getting us banned and we are not the one who has had posts modified. (the irony of dave doing what he falsely accuses me of doing appearently escapes him.) OP calls this an exploit, and says you must exploit to stay with the exploiters. i neither believe it is an exploit, nor do i think that because others are cheating i must or even should cheat. dave and i apparently disagree on both points.

anyway i opened 18 boxes the last couple days and got 1 gold and about a half dozen purples, while being higher level than OP was when claiming 3-4 golds a day. so apparently it was nerfed, or the OP was hyperbolizing results. either way, i reiterate, not gamebreaking by any stretch.

NO you are infact wrong... I don't do this exploiting thing but with my character I get yellow items often enough twice a week or so . Point is that when u open over 20 "goodie bags" pr day you end up getting tons of it:

Hi there,
I'm not native english speaking so please don't mind my mistakes. I just want to know how to treat this issue.
I'm having 7 alts and my main character, alts have the skill points in hireling for blacksmithing, woodworker, and clothier. I get the high level mats on my main, when opening the bags in the mail. I do NOT have hundreds (not even close) of purple or gold refining materials, nor do i sell them. I just keep them for myself to use them when reaching max level.
I stopped logging in my alts for a few days now when i noticed that someone was calling it an exploit.
I'm not feeling like exploiting something, it seemes almost common sense to me, as really a lot of people told they're doing it. You can read how to do it on the forum, which has not been deleted by ZOS.
There was no official statement not to do it, though they told that they are investigating. If i had been told not to do it, i would have stopped earlier.
In case somebody says "they also didn't tell you not to dupe items" i'd like to add that this was obviously cheating. In this case the thread is open for over a month and it seems like nobody can tell if hirelinks work as intendet or not.
So... do you think i can get banned if i use my hirelings again?

Just an update, today I farmed mats for an hour (vr7-9 stuff), got about 200-300 of each raw mat. After refining I got 8 golds, 7 purples and 9 blues. There you have it.

STRONGLY Disagree ....
1st crafting is VERY time consuming with how little bag space u have. (i play everyday and often all day, still i am only VR2 after months of play) i now KNOW i would be much better if i rushed content and instead of wasting time crafting i used the extra time playing.

2nd Crafted gear is only so slightly better than other gear .... for example in other games i played a gold vs purple can make ur char 50% more effective ... in ESO its at best a 3% improvement.

3rd i get annoyed everytime some complains nerf this, that or the other ... and ESO team puts little thought into it and nerfs stuff.

.......... hey if someone is paying 2x a month to run two accounts and getting 2x purple / gold upgrades i say good for them... thats the only advantage they have like i said the difference between purple and gold is not huge.

seriously, actively pushing this thread for over a month now? whether you think drops are too highor not high enough, that someone would care that one can get good mats simply by having a master crafter enough to log in consistently for a full month?

or someone has banks full of mats and wants mats drops significantly lowered. might increase the value of those mats. 100x100 bank slots = 10k of course they likely would have much larger banks, plus alts, maybe even second accounts for additional slots?

the OP obviously visits, or has friends that visit the sites where dupes were posted, thus being able to advertise for it 2 posts above. i find this all suspicious.

best way to fight dupes is to up the drop rates of duped mats. (well, second best way, fixing them when they were first reported would have been nice too.)

the more i read this thread and think about it, the more i agree Alephen, i have had 7 alts and i am VR2...... for the average player its not a huge advantage, especially when u consider any time spent crafting is time NOT spent not leveling ur player. I dont think that matters unless ur sitting on a stack of material u want the price to go up because quality upgrades are rare coz ZOS in there infinite wisdom did another poorly thought out nerf.

My question is.. who cares? To the devs: Please for the love of God, don't nerf the hirelings. If someone has taken the time to level up these characters, and he is paying the subscription fee, he should be able to benefit from it. Otherwise, if it's nerfed, there will be tons of players who got legendary equipment pre-patch and the ones trying post patch will be screwed messing up the balance.
