Has anyone ever had group members in a dungeon/trial refuse to give you pieces of a set that you wanted and they had just because they deemed the set 'not good'? Like... if you want to keep it, that's fine, but deeming it 'not good' (whether it's true or not) just seems like a rude reason not to give the pieces to someone.
But maybe I'm seeing it one sided too much, so has this happened to anyone else before? have you DONE this? if so I'd like to hear your reasoning, maybe I'm just short sighted.
Edit: NO I was NOT using an addon to spy on their loot drops. I asked if anyone had any set pieces of the set I wanted and they linked a piece I needed in chat, but wouldn't give it to me because the set 'wasn't good'.
That seems to me to be a silly reason. My only guess to why is they think you will instead of using it decon it and they want the materials for themselves?
No what happened was I flat out asked in chat if anyone had it, they linked it, but then refused to give it to me because the set wasn't good.
I'm an idiot the other way around; I've had a group that was diligently waiting for me to pick chests (why??) but they were much lower CP than me so I thought they might need the stuff more than I do. Long story short, I've opened all the chests, leaving the stuff inside untouched for others to take (even that piece I didn't have)

In dungeon? I think there's nothing to be ashamed of, especially while overland chests teach us that chest is for one player only (other players take leftovers or nothing at all)
When I started doing dungeons, I always waited for other group members to loot the chest, and only then I also looted the chest. And I was always confused why nobody took the gold before me... Finally, somebody explained to me that chests in dungeons can be looted by every group member and everyone gets their own loot
I use addons to see loot of group.
I find it mental that some ppl see this as bad in 2021.
Knowing what dropped doesnt mean I will invade player that got drop I needed, but it does provide info how rare is some drop no matter what I decide to do with info.

Maybe? I dunno, kinda bums me out because the dungeon is kinda hard. Thankfully not a monster set so I can do it on normal but still.
*Flops* one of these days I'll get this 'not good' set haha.
Even if it's not good, I'd like to at least try it, ya know?

I think the problem is how some people use that information.
I think (and hope) this is rare, but a new person who joined my guild a while ago was pleasantly surprised to learn they were allowed to keep all their drops if they wanted to. They were used to guild dungeon runs in their previous guild ending with the officer who lead the group telling everyone what to give away and who to give it to, based on the guild's records of who wanted or deserved which items and their seniority in the guild.
Apparently they'd been told that was the only fair way to do it, but for a new player who didn't know what sets they might need to request them, and who had no seniority in the guild it basically meant they had to give away anything which might be worth having.

I wholly endorse the "not good" sets.
I use tons of sets on my characters that would probably make people side-eye my builds. But they are fun, fit my character concepts / themes, and work.
An Aegis Caller / Unleashed setup, a mag DPS with Phoenix, Combat Physician on a tank, in my early days as a tank I spent weeks farming Crypt Of Hearts for a Shroud Of The Lich resto staff, I've used False God's on a tank, Chokethorn on a tank, the list could probably go on. I wholly endorse off-meta sets and builds.
What were you trying to get?
A friend of mine had a sort of similar experience when none of his guildies would craft him some items because they didn’t think the set was worth it. But it worked for him, it got the job done in group settings, and he enjoyed playing that way, so the fact it wasn’t meta shouldn’t have mattered. He had the mats for it and all that, but they were arrogant enough to refuse just because they disagreed with his build. Give advise sure, but imposing your build dogma on someone else like that is lame.
Luckily for him, I have a master crafter so I was more than happy to help him out once I logged in.

That honestly sounds fun~
But yeah I don't look up builds, I used to just to get a grasp on the game, but after that I only look up SETS and where to get them, using my own brain power in how I can use them and if I want them or not.
The one I wanted was from Stone garden, called Kraglen's Howl or sometimes just Kraglen
This, I want an prayer shawl sword is you don't need, yes it one of the worst sets in the game. But it might be buffed in the future as none are using it and the sword makes it cheaper to reconstruct.MasterSpatula wrote: »I've never seen this, but with the Sticker Book, there's straight-up no reason for this attitude. Any set might be buffed to BIS in the future (Okay, maybe not ANY set), and having it in your sticker book means you won't need to farm it if that happens. It makes no sense not to Sticker-Book any unlearned item you come across in the game.
WrathOfInnos wrote: »Just say it’s for the sticker book, in case the set ever gets buffed. Sounds like they were trying to protect you from a bad decision
I’m curious which set it was.

Did you check the level of the piece?
Level 15 may just not have been what you have been looking for.
