I am confident that the investigation was conducted. If there would have been minimal investigation I would not get banned. It is humiliating - weeks to prove that you're not a criminal pay them a hundred dollars.

That poll has absolutely nothing to do with this thread. People getting kicked with no warning, communication, or even valid reasoning is the discussion here.

I wonder how many of these clowns crying about bans are botters, gold spammers (buyers to), cheaters and dupers lol. Good riddance clowns!

I hope you suffer the same error

Yep, I'm totally complaining they cut into my business here because it's a million times easier to get a response and appeal from CS than just make a new account that works fine.

    /sarcasm

Eagerly awaiting your forced vacation from a random, unwarranted ban so you have time to think before posting next time.

In my experience (Started with ultima online) gold spammers and botters dont usaly post much on game forums.....

Seriously, I`m not wishing bad things for anyone, but really @lionheart051‌, try to be more compesionate for others - same things can happen to you.

Bugs and bots don't choose you know.
  • templar_von_midgard
Still no response from ZOS, I'm growing a bit impatient...
Also, I wish everyone, who says I am botter the same fate.
As to me being a goldseller? Level 48 Single d/s Nightblades can't farm gold too easily and 42k-s of gold cannot be sold... As a result, your argument is invalid.(<- this is point! If you want to chitchat about this you can send me a PM, but that wouldn't be a good idea...)

For me it's already more than 24 without answer from their side.
    Happy Easter...

It's kind of scary in the fact that a player could unknowingly do something legit and be auto-banned or reported. And yet gold spammers are constantly popping up. It's a bit sad that someone could lose out on playing the game until some accidental bans are rectified. If this is actually the case.

Something I worry about is if I find a good area that I can run around harvesting mats, and I run around and keep doing that for a while, is that a reportable offense? Or attacking a mini boss a few times because there are good drops?

    Don't..
People that complain about somebody's English are the smallest people on the internet, usually can't even speak one language (and I mean their own) and almost always have abnormally small ***. It's a proven fact.

Be sure to not do the doomed quest 'The Final Assault' in Coldharbour.
Moreover, it is actually more beneficial to farm materials by killing mobs and deconstructing the ingredients.

Got a call from their support now. It seems i got banned for gold spam.
They had looked at my chattlogs and couldnt find any evidence and would unban me "shortly".
So 2 questions springs to mind .
What kind of faulty automated ban tools are they using and how long is "shortly"

I think the problem is that some people hastily report gold spam and get the wrong name. It's why I try not to use /z in the starting areas if there is any gold spam going on. Lots of inexperienced players and probably lots of wrong name gold spam reports that get auto banned.

Real people are not doing the initial banning. Zos just does not have the manpower required to do a good job of managing the game.

I guess, falling in a bottomless pit/through the floor (the two are actually the same thing) just spams some /command in chat, presumably /stuck to kill the character. So that is a false positive for spamming the chat, they must have forgotten to put in a condition for it in the code.

EDIT: This is actually verified by my client, I live in Hungary, which far away from the USA, so I experience extreme lags. As a result, whenever I die because of falling in open space, I die twice, one while falling, one after respawning at the wayshrine, this is because of my latency issues.

So the question that should come up... if there is nothing found in the chat logs, how on earth were you banned in the first place? Whoever reported you should be under investigation as to why, or they need to have another look at their auto-ban system.

I think 'The Final Assault' is WAY past my level, and not really sure what you mean by that. And although there is benefit to deconstructing material, those items take up valuable inventory, but I can run around and harvest nodes and not worry about it since they stack. I just fear that one day I might run around harvesting mats and be banned for just playing the game. (side note: if repairing wasn't so expensive, I wouldn't need mats all the time to create new gear to replace my broken stuff) Sorry if derailed.

The Final Assault quest seems to be a common thread around a number of these bans and my ban has still not been rescinded yet.

The quest must generate a bunch of false positives that the server identifies as ban-worthy. Well, garbage in equals garbage out. I guess that's what we get for trying to work-around a bugged quest. If ZeniMaxiPad would have built and properly tested the quest, I'm guessing it could have saved everyone from this experience. Just like their ignorance around the duping bug.

Well, the only consolation is that ZeniMaxiPad is garnering some serious ill-will with their handling of this whole situation, as they should.

These bans are most likely related to the duping items bug in the guild bank and vendoring them for vast amounts of easy gold. Of course the people banned WILL play dumb here.

I think it's much more likely to be something equivalent to what credit card companies do. They look for unusual patterns and refuse to authorize them if they seem odd (electronics purchases in bulgaria with an american-owned credit card that was used in dallas on the same day.)

In this case the spammers are flooding chat with messages and you'd like to ban them before they send every single user guild invites and mail and fill the chat channels with thousands of messages. Activities that mimic this would trigger bans. I suspect there is something about what the system does when there is a glitch that triggers similar diagnostics to those for gold spammers. I hope they figure it out, but I also really want them to take the spammers out as quickly as possible. If they have to be 100% sure we'll be drowning in goldbots.

I just got mine reversed, it looks like when the toon was falling it spams the chat window and the auto ban happens. Seems a bit excessive IMO. Spamming chat for the first time should just be like a 5 min kick, then escalate. Also some info e-mailed to the user would be very helpful!

Edit: Also sad it took 24 hours 5 tickets and me calling them @ the number on my paypal invoice to get it done. I don't even feel like playing now lol...

After 4 days and 3 tickets, my account and character have finally been fully restored with an apology for their mistake. Clearly there is some faulty mechanism in place and I wish for the best for everyone else who was wrongfully banned. The final message I got from CS was "they weren't sure if someone had already reached out to me" so they clearly have some work to do to improve their service and I am overall not happy with the entire experience.

For all of you coming on here and saying things like "I have no sympathy" or "you must have done something wrong" or "appeal and beg for mercy" you are insulting your fellow players. It feels bad enough when you are banned at no fault of your own, and even worse to then have your fellow players accuse you of being a gold spammer, exploiter, or bad person on these forums.

This is a technical issue for many of us, not a disciplinary issue.

I just got "suspended from the site". I had just finished deconstructing some items during crafting and was heading back to the bank when I was kicked. When I tried to log back in, it say my account information was incorrect and when I followed the link it said my account was suspended.

I immediately filed an appeal, and am on hold with customer service as well. I have an imperial pre-order, and my highest level character is 30 and I have no more than an average amount of gold.

Don't know what their system is right now, but it's apparently swinging too wide an arc in a small crowded room.

    VR14 Templar, VR14 DK, VR8 DK, VR7 NB, VR1 Sorcerer;
    All 3 Alliances;
2 Pre-order Imperial Accounts, yes that means 16 characters on NA alone
