The faulty mechanism is the report function itself. As a poster said above they got banned because someone right clicked their name by mistake instead of the gold farmer.

I've almost done this myself a few times trying to target the correct name. they are spamming so fast the chat text is always in flux.

This is solely Zeni's fault for making the report system so hard. it shouldn't lead to a darn email interface or any interface at all. you should be able to right click select /report and have it send the message as well as auto ignoring the toon. That ignore should not count toward yer already dismal total of 100 players ignored limit.

Yep, banned here too..did nothing wrong, I run 2 addons, one to show what im looting with the autoloot option turned on from their options, and one to allow a search bar in guild stores. This is after my 100 dollar collectors edition shipped late and they made me wait for it to come. AND after my bank wiped itself which still hasn't been fixed. I planned for a month to play this game for an extended period of time, I've been looking forward to it for a year. Between all the ridiculous bugs reported in beta, the item duplication DESTROYING the economy, and my bank being wiped. 0 customer service in a subscription game in 2014, what a joke. I've handled everything else fine. I'm not handling an auto ban on a Saturday afternoon.

I was just kicked and banned after reporting 5 afk bots in Silumm public dungeon. I don't know if I accidentally reported one that wasn't really afk (the all had random letter names and were standing on the boss spawn for multiple spawns). It's possible I was reported afk by another player while I was filing my reports. I assisted in one boss kill and left. It took about 10 minutes after that to kick me though. I was back in Daggerfall deconstructing stuff when it happened.

This is all the more reason this community needs transparency. Without open communication with developers or whoever is assigned to deal with us players there will always be this air of confusion, where the players are left in the dark until something drastic happens, like the wrong people being banned.

Well said, I came here initially to see other player's experiences with this and am glad to have shared mine, even though it was not a good experience at all for me.

Just went back from work , logged in game , i was crafting and i got kicked from the game
On the site i see that my account was suspended. I had problem with the bank bug 11 days ago and i'm still waiting their fix and refund and now i got banned for nothing. I have 30 k gold on my main and i'm lvl 40, never bought anything from anyone and i'm really angry that this happened at the start of a long weekend. I suppose i will not receive any answer to my ticket for 4 day or more. For sure i will not renew my sub.

I just got whacked too it seems. I've put in a ticket about it. My only guess was an accidental report on me from someone else or, I dunno??? I run an anti-spam addon and played with the settings a bit just before it happened. I'd hate to think that had something to do with it. If they look me up they will see I had been reporting all sorts of gold spammers. This is kind of inconvenient but I'm glad something seems to be in place to take care of the real problem players.....

Banned here too, lost multiple bank slots, ive kept open lines of communication with GM's via email on several issues and BAM!! Ban hammer for no reason as im trying to buy stuff from the guild auction house.. What gives???

There needs to be communication, I came from DDO, which has it's own share of problems, but generally if there's a large number of players on the forums there complaining they were incorrectly banned, the devs at least acknowledged the issue.

This is why we need humans reviewing these reports. This is a major problem (not your fault).

I didn't bought any gold , i didn't used any cheat or xp exploit ( i'm still lvl 40 ) and i got banned for nothing

This is exactly what I was doing! I was deconstructing things, got kicked to character select, logged back in, was kicked, got the "Account information is incorrect" and then I tried the site and got "suspended from the site". I was deconstructing things pretty fast, I wonder if it's triggering some automated ban thing.

Funny, considering I have never botted/hacked/duped in a game in my life...I think you're spot on example of a little *** ant jumping to conclusions. I have actually spent more time in game sending spam/bot reports, than actually playing.

Seems to me like a very large FUBAR, considering so many people are actually getting vocal about it...do you really think that a gold farmer/spammer is gonna take the time to type something on the forums...or do you think they would just move to the next stolen CC.

Same here. I just came from a dungeon where there were multiple bots by a boss, I was there for some time trying to get the achievement because they killed it really fast.

Maybe someone reported me because I was there, but that doesn't make sense, auto ban is just ridiculous.

I got the achievement, got out of the dungeon and couple minutes later, bam... disconnected+suspended.

So guys, I just got the email (after 25 hours of wait) that I was falsely identified as a gold spammer. Finally I can continue playing the game.

Yeah, looks like I won't be logging in tonight either... I'm not banned, but if their auto-ban bots are broken, I don't plan on giving them the opportunity.

Yeah, the worst part of this, and I am affected as well, is the lack of an e-mail telling me/us that we were banned.
Then I/We dont/didnt get a confirmation responce on our ticket, so we dont even know if it is in the system.

Guess it is time to log on to The Secret World and check out the new missions there for a while before going to bed, and then having saturday to deal with this.

Got hammered with a ban too. I was checking back in to see if I could get interested again after the bank bug, which rendered things unplayable for me, was supposedly fixed.

Yeah... this game isn't going to fail. The fan boys are totally right that it is just perfect. Who wouldn't want to pay money for this bucket of awesome sauce? Good job ZOS!

If it makes you ppl feel better, the server seems to be so laggy right now that I can't change zones on a VR 7 empty area.

From the looks of it it's gonna be a rough first month.

I wish all of you good luck! Actually, it was 4 tickets and 25 hours on my side. Though there were others for whom it took 4 days and 3 tickets to get their bans lifted.

For Zenimax: PUSH A HOTFIX, you just miss a single condition in the code, I know you can do it! (Just tell the auto-ban bot to ignore /command spamming!!!)

You'd think they would have done a post somewhere saying they were doing mass bans and if you were incorrectly banned here is the process to appeal......rather than total silence.
