Now, in the theoretical scenario where I had my own software company, and in the event that my servers and my software kept going offline and my paying customers were continually disappointed, upset, and frustrated, theoretical me would probably seek to disabuse some of my employees of the notion that they were still employed. And then I'd sincerely apologise to said paying customers.
[Disclaimer: Please note, this is an entirely theoretical situation and should not in any way give rise to the view that I am suggesting that any ZoS employee be fired, because clearly that would be wrong and slightly naughty]
This was a public service message.
It's called a DR (disaster recovery) plan. Most professional companies have a replication they cut-over to. I'm going to be fair on ZoS and say they have the something along those lines, but if the data center is down and both architectures are in the same one... well -- that's just bad planning.
Not to be pedantic......ok to be pedantic...... it's a BCP - Business Continuity Plan, and usual a DR plan forms a part of that. I post this not for you my friend, but so that some bright spark at ZenniHQ can look these terms up on the interweb and maybe - maybe - get one started.
