It's called a DR (disaster recovery) plan. Most professional companies have a replication they cut-over to. I'm going to be fair on ZoS and say they have the something along those lines, but if the data center is down and both architectures are in the same one... well -- that's just bad planning.
Imagine having at least one day after the new patch without malfunctioning servers...........
