There is a difference between a video pointing out a major bug that upsets people and writing the game off as if it will never ever get fixed, which honestly seems to be what you think.

This gamer on youtube had more viewers than MOST shows on msnbc or cnn and the ones that are ahead of him are only just.

No, it just means he can research products by facts, not opinions. For example Fact quests are broken. Fact the game is new. Fact the devs are working on it. The opinion part is opinion and null.

You do realize, I hope, that the "zero posts" are because all of the thousands of posts in those categories are in...subcategories, right?

People are trying to get help on bugs here, and this sort of thing is more logical elsewhere...although I will grant that the forum organization here is...baroque.

I didn't realize it either for about 2 weeks. Not only are some of their in game designs awful, but their forum design and structure is as well.

Like I said, I make up my own mind.

Reviewers and critics....most of the time...are just offering opinions. You can tell when they are being objective and when they are just bashing.

I could get the same thing from my buddy, and to be honest I'd take his opinion more seriously than some random person online. Even then, I'll make up my own mind after trying something. Yes, sometimes I get burned, but more often than not my opinion of a product or service is completely different from the "critics".

After watching the video I agree that Force has a completely legitimate gripe. Still, if I wasn't already a subscriber I wouldn't hesitate to try the game even after seeing this video, because these bugs don't happen for everyone. On top of that, I'm old, and when you get to be my age you tend to become more patient and willing to do other things until a situation is resolved. If I were in his position I would work on my crafting or go PvP...or even take a break from the game...while I waited for a fix.

I'm not saying he should have to do that, and I'm not saying his opinions are invalid; like I said above, he has a perfectly legitimate gripe. But people are different and they handle situations differently.

Whatever...no biggie. I still think people should make up their own minds only after trying something for themselves. Nothing wrong with taking a critic's opinion under consideration as part of your decision making process, but to not try a game because "Force" doesn't like it is just not thinking for yourself.

"There's a new restaurant in town. I went there and thought the food was horrible. Wait, you're going to try it out for yourself because maybe you'll like it anyway? Why would you do that? I'm telling you, it's bad."

I read reviews from time to time about things. Just to get a look at it. Games, I look at artwork, who's making it, and actual game play. So many people have said CoD is a good game, when its nothing more but wrapped up garbage in a new box. Personally I prefer Battlefield series. Do I like FPS? Hell yea I do. Did I buy, try, and now want to see Activision go under? Hell yea I do. But for this game? I would love nothing more than to see it just take off. Really go the distance, smash all the other MMO's into the ground and put WoW in a hurt locker for a few years. But lets be honest, when there's video's from a guy who's got 350k+ followers, and he openly posts how he's like to see this game flourish, but is able to point out POINT BLANK bugs that break the game...yea something needs to be done, and ZOE needs to snap to attention and take a damn close look at whats going on here.

You don't know how the good/bad works in business then. Generally a person who likes/had an enjoyable experience will tell at most 3 ppl. Like wise a person who has had a bad one tells about 13 people (give or take). Doesn't matter if the followers watch on a regular basis or not, even if it reaches 50k people 1/7th of his fan base, it COULD be a nasty PR blow to ZOE...wait it's kinda already reached that hasn't it?

Point of the thread is not that someone who people may or may not have heard of has posted a negative video on utube with his opinions being valid or not.

The point I was trying to make that unlike so called "stars" the phrase "no such thing as bad publicity" is a crock.

Soo many people are just itching to hate this game. Every MMO has bugs at launch. I dare any of you to name one that didn't. This is getting just ridiculous how many whiners there are. Reporting bugs is one thing. Screaming ESO IS GOING TO FAIL I QUIT! is getting old. Really

Also note, alot of the problems in ESO right now were happening in Guild Wars 2 at launch. Guild Wars 2 by most people would be considered successful. Here is just a few things on the Guild Wars 2 launch.
