Error 209 after patch?

Endolith✭✭✭I restarted once and repaired. Got the same message but restarted 4 more times and on the 4th restart it worked.1 -
Gildren✭✭In the time it took me to create what I was hoping would be a helpful post with pictures, I am now able to log in.

deleting the Bethesda.net_Launcher.version file in the Launcher folder worked for me

The weird thing is that I patch it earlier, started the game just fine, got a badly timed update from my internet provider which meant no internet for a few seconds, got kicked out of the game because of that and now in this error loop.0 -
After deleting the .version files, it LOOKS like it is re-downloading 22GB, but read the really tiny font, and you will see it is "checking" the download. So it's looking at how much of that 22GB game you still have.

Deleted the version files...Now it's downloading. There is no small text. It's really downloading. All my old game files are now gone. 22 gigs. WTF.0

After deleting the .version files and reopening the launcher, the launcher starts downloading the game from scratch...
*Edit: I canceled the download, restored the .version files and... the game appears to be loading properly. Delayed release! Will keep my eyes crossed just in case...

fyendiarb16_ESO✭✭✭Closed and restarted the launcher again and again, then the patching start again ending in the error... again. But it showed the play button and after another restart it all worked fine.

Something that worked for me when I got the Error 209:
In the settings, select the Europe server and hit apply -- the launcher will want you to install, but don't do it. Change it back to the US server, and see what happens -- it let me in.1 -

Stormbow✭✭✭Process for finding the Game Consultant:
Note: The icons and buttons in the launcher highlight when you mouse over them. I made them flash in this guide so you are more directly drawn to the exact item you are to click on.
1: On the Launcher, click the Settings icon on the top right (flashing in the image below):
2: On the Settings page, click "About" on the left (flashing in the image below):
3: Click the "Game Consultant" button toward the bottom right (flashing in the image below):
After clicking Game Consultant, you'll see a window similar to this:
(But you'll have to actually click "Run Tests" before you start seeing that green bar fill up.)
When the test completes, click the "Open Report Location" button, RIGHT-CLICK the "report" or "report.txt" file (depends on your PC settings, if file extensions are shown or not) and CUT the file, go to your desktop and PASTE it (for easy finding).
Come back to the ESO website, send the report to Support. (Don't post it in the forums. That's unnecessary, and will delay you in getting help.)

Rage_Frost✭✭✭All I am going to say is that I am more then a little upset ATM. I followed the steps stated and deleted the 4 Files Version that was stated on the last step and now a re download of all game files is happing. I was in game before this patch without problems now patch and I have to download the whole game again...
Some folks don't have great speed to download some folks have Data Cap's..
And even with all that forget it.... I not going to say anymore before I get into trouble on the forums cause I do love the game but come on...0 -

Rage_Frost✭✭✭Well I did all the steps in the support article Stopped the Download then tried to repair it took some time and now its starting the whole 22GB download all over again. Now I am troubled cause I didn't see anywhere in the Article to delete the Ver files that I deleted the 4 of them like was first said to do?0

Airion✭I don't even know what to say anymore. Items and bank slots deleted. And now 209 error, can't even log on anymore. This is really getting ridiculous.
I understand that the game is new and not everything will work as intended and it takes time to fix it. But there is too many things broken at the moment!!!! I don't even feel like playing anymore which makes me sad because I really do like them game....
