Error 209 after patch?

I will take a bright side wherever I can get one right now!

Just hoping that I can leave it going when I head to bed and it be ready when I get up. Although I will still have work to get through before I can finally play...

I find the lack of communication for the last couple of hours on this problem from any official source very disturbing. I am not happy with the official fix that was stated. I found that did not fix the problem.

I am also sad to all the folks who have stated that their fix works when it doesn't.

I was being forced to re download the game or just about. 22GB

I have since uninstalled the game because if I am going to have to do that then I want a clean install.

No patch should ever be made where the "user" has to delete files, Rename Files, Move Files Do 7 steps to fix a patching error.

After all is done I have downloaded a 5 GB file and was downloading about 7 GB before I said I am just re downloading the whole game.

"I had Zero problems with the game patches etc until todays patch..."

Now I am downloading at 600kb where I was at almost 4MB download before.
This is telling me the Download server's are over loaded. Which means there are many more folks out their that are also having this problem...

I feel sorry for folks who have Data Cap's folks with slow internet.

Even the folks who have fast internet like myself are also stuck with slow speeds cause of the lack of QA broken patch or what ever happened.

Since I can not get in game to lodge a complaint
or file Feedback or a Bug Report.

Here is my Official Complaint and wish to have someone contact me with a resolution to my set back.

if you got error and just restarted launcher and it works...you're probably still playing an old version of the game...just fyi

I was able to patch and run the first time, but after logging out and closing the launcher I now am in the same boat. I have tried all fixes, and the issues comes back when run launcher again. Any other ideas?

I was having the same problem myself. After repairing several times, I changed to the euro megaserver. It prompted me to install at that point. I changed back to the America megaserver and then got the play prompt. I'm in now without having to delete any of the .version files.

I got the play prompt, but after playing a bit and closing the game and launcher, when I tried to start the launcher later I ended up in the situation like everybody else, so I'm not sure getting the "play" button means anything.

@Rage_Frost‌ I noticed a slow down a few moments ago too. I Paused, Resumed, & shot back up to 7 MB/s. You might try that as well.

error 301's and Login timeouts for daysss

I can get the "play" button to appear every so often and launch the game.
But when I exit the game, the launcher refreshes and gives me the error again.
It's like a hit and miss deal. Frustrating.

Yeah I ended up having to re-download the game - not pleased....No amount of tinkering solved this.

By the way - Why not allow people to patch during server maintenance?

I redownloaded the whole game, then got the login error, after getting it to patch I got the error 209 again.

So reinstalling does not work and hell If I am downloading the whole game again.

Edit: ok, apparently I read this before your edit. This means that I will not be able to play tonight anymore... shouldn't have logged off... Maybe I should get play time credit on my account since this isn't my fault?

I got it to repair and let me play earlier. Then I logged out and it gave me this error again and would not repair. So I did as you said here and deleted all version files. The launcher then updated and when it finally opened, it said Install instead of Repair or Play. So apparently I have to re-install the entire game now...

Not working for me, and I tried deleting/restoring the files. The actual client still says the old version, even though it now works. I guess I'll be playing the old version, assuming it works.

Please fix this asap. I would laugh, throw my hands up in the air and go do something else, but it just so happens my paycheck comes from writing about this game. And at the moment, I can't do much aside from craft an article about how Zenimax managed to finally lobotomize their launcher. Literally having your paycheck halved due to the game being inaccessible Saturday evening through Sunday evening, then this... ugh. I really hope this is a minor, easy fix somehow.

What version did it install?

After reinstall I had 964485, got the login error so I used the repair tool. This caused it to start downloading what I assume is the latest patch, at that point after it downloaded I got the error 209 which is what I had before I did a complete reinstall. So I am slightly pissed.

Currently I have 1.3.5964404 which is the updated with the 209 error.

What is really strange....I get the 209 error for the NA version but the EU version patching went fine and I can play that. I finally gave up on repairing after the 4th time and completely closing the launcher and relaunching it. I uninstalled and am re-installing.

WHY SHOULD WE HAVE TO RE-DOWNLOAD the game - 22 gigs - 2 days of downloading for me and from what I here that hasn't fixed the problem for a lot of people.

are you kidding me? you edited that post at 7:11PM which was first posted at 2:37pm... to add that if you follow these steps you may be required to re-download the game. Why even post that as a fix in the first place.

If that was stated at 2:37pm first I would of never followed these step's

Okay, Instead of redownloading the entire game because the launcher said to, I restored all the version files except the Launcher version file and deleted the new Launcher version file it had downloaded. Then I restarted the launcher, it updated, and now has given me a Play button... gonna see what happens.
