    It is definitely frustrating.

I would honestly be happy with breadcrumbs at this point:
    • It is coming along well!
    • I'll have an update shortly!
    • [X] and [Y] are finished, so after wrapping up [Z] I'll let you guys know more!

I understand that it might take time to plan and implement it fully, but at least small updates along the way (sort of like what Rob is doing with the combat update) would be nice. At least then we know it is still actively being worked on, especially if there really is no ETA.

Thanks for the update! It's good to know there is something in the works :)

Do you have an idea of the general timeframe it will be for the plan to be fully implemented?

    No ETA?

No eta while on PS4 all or your crag trails are boderline unplayable and your dlc are just a hot mess. I didn't know we were still in beta

No, not in Beta - you are on a gaming system that was more an afterthought. Consoles have never had the full compatibility and performance that PC has had in this game.

The UI was an after thought but if you think PC x86 and console x86 is different, well that's on you. I don't think the compilers are that different either. Also don't think consoles as the majority of the population is an after thought.

And yet the complaints from console have been going on since day ONE and have only gotten worse - so that's not on me, I know more about it than you may think.

It's much, much more than just the UI - if it were just the UI no one would be bitching incessantly about performance issues. Performance issues that I do NOT have on PC.

And performance issues I DO NOT HAVE on XB OneX with an SSD. Seriously, my load times are generally 20-30 seconds (not as fast as I can get when playing on PC, but not much longer). Plus, the unplayability and incessant crashing I experienced before getting an SSD (like Hew's Bane looking like a blurry, muddy mess and crashing 5 seconds after riding through the front gate) is virtually non-existent.

Now, I don't do trials or PvP, so I can't speak to those, and I don't queue for random dungeons. I did do the Undaunted event with my spouse this past fall, and we had no problems porting into a dungeon and playing it.

During the New Life Festival (and shortly before that during the Free Play days), my load times spiked to over a minute. That was due to server load, but the game still ran fine for me.

@ZOS_GinaBruno since this was not covered during the stream tonight, when can we expect to hear an update with the plans for improved communication between ZOS and the community?

Performance enhancements were briefly addressed, but not the improved communication plans that were mentioned months ago.

My biggest issue with the stream was how they kept saying "We can only do this because of you guys! This is for the community!" but yet they barely even communicate with us.

It came across as empty words.

He didn't lie. Rich is a nice guy and what he meant was - he's doing his job on this game because community/playerbase plays it a lot after 5 intense years. People hanging out in the forums are probably less than 0,5% of the player base.

But I do agree, community managers SHOULD talk more in the forums and SHOULD reply on most bug reports that provided some data.

She admitted herself that they hadn't been communicating as well as they should have been on the issues currently facing trials. Those were her words, not mine. I was simply following up with her statement to see if they are developing a plan to prevent similar situations from repeating in the future :)

While I'm not her boss, her job is to communicate with the community...so...ya know.

I just don't understand why Gina and Jessica aren't more involved in the forums. They are the Community Managers after all. If, for some incredibly unlikely reason, communicating with the community is not a part of their job description, then they need to hire someone who does just that.

Someone who will actually engage with the community (in the forums, twitch, discord, etc). Someone who will actually acknowledge the feedback players are giving via bug reports.

I would assume that would be the role of the Community Managers, but if for some reason that has changed then they need to fill in that role asap. This silence we have been receiving from ZOS over the last several months is just flat out unacceptable and unprofessional, and having one single live stream to announce new content doesn't make up for the months of silence we have been receiving.

I want to be grateful for the live stream they just did, I really do, but I'm just expecting things to go right back to the way they were before. I wish ZOS would prove me wrong by finally improving the communication with the community.

So then ESO should be labeled accordingly. Minimum System: needs SSD, fiber network, VPN service and TCP IP Tweaks to perform as advertised. Recommended: A Major in Network and System Engineering to fully enjoy the ESO experience and services.

what a very odd and seemingly random question. If the servers are not up, you cannot login to them and therefore you cannot play the game. (although if it comes to that they should just give us the ability to setup our own servers) But yes, if the game shuts down you will no longer be able to play.

Yes, that's progress. At the same time, that's been standard to have a universal auction house with a search bar for all MMOS I've played. The user interface with the zone completion? Also standard for other MMOs.

While they are the community managers they don't have free reign to talk about anything and everything. They have power but it is actually very limited which of course is frustrating for them too. Its a difficult job.

Given how they've posted in the past I just get the feeling they'd like to say and interact more but the upper echelons have decided on a policy which from the player base perspective sucks.

We've seen posts in the past where they've chased down developers to clarify stuff and brought the clarifications back to us which I consider good communications. I just don't think they are allowed to do that any more or if they are its within tight constraints.

    Sad.

There hasn't been much progress in terms of improving communication with the community. Gina has admitted to and apologized for a lack of communication in the past and then said that she's working on putting something together to improve said communication, but there haven't been any changes made since then. If anything, the communication has continued to decline (such as with the ESO Live's no longer being regular).

    Sad.

It definitely seems that way. Given how different the communication from the past was compared to what we have now (and how quickly it changed in 2018) it definitely appears from the outside as if an actual decision was made which impacts the communication we receive from ZOS.

Just look at some of the major bug threads which have been around for months and have thousands of views and tags asking for ZOS to communicate, yet there has not been any communication. I doubt that the community managers and devs had read them and thought, "Eh, I'm just not going to comment on this despite it being a major bug which is clearly affecting players".

At least that is what I hope. I would much rather the case be due to some decision made by a higher up rather than ZOS being lazy and not putting as much effort into communicating with their community.
