Are you happy that the CP cap will not be increased for the "foreseeable future"?

    I'm pretty indifferent about CP.
I was excited when CP were first introduced, but that soon wore off. Now I mainly think of CP as a gold sink/can't even be bothered to respec for different playstyles any more. Am interested though what the devs are planning to do...

I don't play for 'vertical progression' or whatever it's called. I've no problem being maxed and happily staying right there. I find the game to be massive and chock full of things to do - most of which is repeatable. So I'm fine staying where I am or sticking 10 more diminishing return CP in with every major patch.

As far as impact on the game, I understand that some who want this 'vertical progression' are talking about leaving the game. I can also imagine that many new players see others running around with CP810 next to their name and get discouraged as it seems like an intimidatingly unobtainable goal to new players. Not to mention the large gap between new and experienced players in terms of what they can do.

That all said, I get the impression that the halt to CP progression is to allow time to evaluate how to best proceed and address some real challenges the neverending CP system presents.

If they're interested in a more robust version of soft caps and transferring all CP to a new attributes spread, I'd definitely be on board with that. I do feel the passives and extremely situational pools in each constellation are a little excessive. Perhaps instead of enlightenment you can unlock a daily passive for a certain amount of hours or a certain amount of XP?

I don't know. The potential is there, but there a lot of directions they could go with this one.

No CP increase. Where is that documented?

@Lab3360 it was stated yesterday during the Livestream for the "Season of the Dragon" and Elsweyr reveal. Pretty much exactly as stated in the poll: no CP cap increase in the next DLC or in the foreseeable future while the dev team reviews the CP system.

    Thank you.

    Translation: Nerf

I wont be waiting around for it

It's not really a "nerf", though. It's just the absence of a (miniscule) buff that people expected to get.

It was miniscule once at max level, but at least it was something. Now there is absolutely no vertical progression once all of your toons are leveled.

Yep extremely happy for it to occur. It's better they pause it now than continue with a broken system which basically makes you OP at L1. Come up with a better solution than the current easy mode.

I just don't get the complaining about this. You'll still go up cp just like before and how much easier do you want the game to be?

    Indifferent, but leaning toward yes.

I don't care that they stopped it and don't care if they let it keep going, but probably for best.

I'm more concerned after looking at the racial "balancing" they did as to what they will do to replace it.

    Indifferent,

I have enough surplus cp to rank up every quarter for the next three years if I put my controller down today and walked away from the game. tbf though if I took a 3 year sabbatical then you could safely assume I wouldn’t be coming back.

On the one hand, my CP is at the point where I get futile diminishing returns. On the other, not a lot of point playing a game where there's no progression at all, even if it's largely a psychological thing.

Key thing is that ZOS will probably rework CP in their usual cack-handed way, going at it like a great cumbersome bull in a china shop and breaking the entire thing in the name of 'balance'.

Nope, cause when zos "will see what to do with cp system" they'll nerf it like always and maybe re-vamp also to make cp less powerfull and after that will be another thread wave here and some ragequits of old players. Just cause when you're playing this game for 5 years you don't want old content to be hard and competitive, you just want to do it fast. So when i see people who ask to make harder overland content, not to do account-wide achievements, stop increasing cp etc. it seems to me that theese people didn't spent enough time in this game, didn't complete enough achievements and didn't leveled enough chars, so maybe they're not ready to make their decision in these questions? But who cares till crown store is open >:)

CP makes such a massive difference. I'm glad it's not going up any more. I ran vma at cp180 the other day on my EU account and it's completely different even with the same gear (minus a vma inferno.) I have such little resistances and damage buffs that I can't burn things I normally burn with ease or survive hits I normally don't even notice. This continues to get worse and worse and we end up with situations like what is currently happening in trials where we essentially just don't do any mechanics. Like groups legitimately don't do mechanics in hof on pretty much any boss, and it's only like 18 months old.

Or maybe some people just have a different take on it than you do.

There are plenty of long-time players with thousands of hours played and boatloads of achievements who are happy that the CP cap isn't going up and looks to be getting a rework.

The notion that halting CP cap increases and possibly reworking CP bonuses is being done exclusively (or even primarily) to appeal to "casuals" or new players is fallacious.

Yes. Power creep has ruined PvE by making older content too easy. The game would be much more enjoyable if it had more challenging content than just a handful of the newest dungeons/trials. The game has 34 dungeons and 7 trials, but only 6 of those dungeons and 3 of those trials are still challenging. The rest of the content is literally going to waste.

And yet I still regularly pug with folk who struggle on normal non-dlc dungeons. You don't speak for everyone, despite your assumption you do.

^ Max CP and I still struggle in some vanilla dungeons. People can say L2P all they want, but there are limits and CP helps to ameliorate that and provides some simplicity to perennially weak players.
