    Was talking to some guildmates about that. It seems to be caused by (sadly) the outfit system, which also seems to be the cause of another related bug; the 'unarmed animation' bug, where-in characters will draw their weapon but to some observers, they're standing with their fists raised as if unarmed.
    Both seem to be fixed by not using the outfit system, sadly :/
    Guildmates report fixing the delay by not using outfits, some report removing outfits for PvP and such.
    You might want to give that a try and see if that helps, or if you weren't using the outfit system at all before, let me know. I'm quite curious what's causing it myself.
    I am using outfits, and I have experienced the bar-swap issues, but then again I've experienced that intermittently and in high latency situations, for years. So right now, there's too many variables to say for certain if that's the exact cause, but many seem to think it is and that's worth something.

    Are these future updates going to lower my magic builds dps even further? I am already bitter because of the 1000's of hours I've spent leveling my character ( the old school way cause I started before exp pots and stuff ) for you and got team to come there and pretty much destroy it endgame.
    The problem some of us have is are connection were we love is ok or for some reason we get glitches out more than others. Generally with the way the game runs at my house I have to alternate between casting ele drain and heavy attack on aoe bar or my aoe's will run out when I bar swap to drop single target dots.
    Most times in a parse on console the game will not reconize light attacks and skill use ( even though you can see the skill light up at the bottom screen.) Causing lack of damage in parse. I have video of this happening.
    It's becoming almost impossible for console ppl like me to hit mid to high 30's on magic builds ( which I only play cause I don't like playing stam )

    So I sit here on 3/11/18 debating wether to just stop trying and go play something else since I've already played all but the hardest content. Farmed falkreath hard mode 52 times in one week.
    Was about to start doing vmol but with off balance nerf's I cannot presently hit over 35k anymore. So that's ruined. Seems like everytime your team does something magic builds take a hit.
    So please do all us magic builds a favor and don't do ANYTHING! You just keep making things worse and worse for us. Go fix all the bugs and glitches. You've pretty much killed magdk's in pve with your meddling. Magwarden never was a thing. Magsorc is pretty much there now tyvm.

    I believe they are probably done with these combat updates. If not you will see one in like, 3 months after summerset probably.

    IMO RPG-games is about variety of: decisions, walking thru, character appearances and builds.
    With Summerset you made right equipment change letting two-handed weapons counting as two pieces of sets. It adds a lot variations of builds. To continuing this idea heavy attacks resource regen must be redone. For now melee weapon and bows not viable with mana builds - you have no mana regeneration from heavy attacks.
    What to do? Heavy attacks with all weapons should regen higher resource pool (stamina or magicka) that character have OR both pools depending on ratio therebetween.
    Hope this idea will be implemented in the future updates.

    Hi everyone, and welcome to our latest combat update. We have been busy going through your PTS feedback for Update 17, which is largely where our combat-related focus has been. To restate our main goals for this update:
    • Improve Synergy responsiveness and power to promote better group gameplay
    • Improve interrupt rulesets so that there is more interesting and tactical interrupt gameplay
    • Improve the Off Balance status effect so it is more useful for everyone
    As we near the end of this PTS cycle, we will continue fixing reported bugs and plan to make a few more adjustments to combat balance. You can expect to see some adjustments to Off Balance, iterations on Synergy cooldowns and updates to abilities that fall outside of our Block and Dodge rulesets. A huge thank you to those of you that have experienced the changes first hand and provided feedback. Your feedback and testing results are invaluable to us.

    On a different note, we’d like to talk to you about our future plans for these combat updates. We’ve seen some great conversation come out of these (and we thank you all for staying constructive as we asked). Starting after this combat update, we will be shifting to doing these quarterly rather than monthly. As you’ve noticed, most of our major combat changes arrive in our quarterly game updates, and we’d like to utilize our written combat updates to give you an early look at what we’re planning. We were finding that subsequent combat updates were becoming “we’re still working on the things we mentioned before” without providing much substance. We want these combat updates to be both meaningful and impactful – changing them to quarterly will ensure that’s the case.

    We still plan to keep you informed in between the larger quarterly updates, and we have some other related plans in the works that we’re really excited to share with you; it’s a bit too early to talk about them now, but we’ll divulge more information as soon as we can.     We complain about lack of communication so you start this bit up. Only to drop it and not say anything. Now we were supposed to get monthly but like what was said it’s almost pointless. So we were supposed to get quarterly.

    Q2 nothing
    Q3 around the corner.

    If I did this to my clients where I work I would have tons of complaints. Bad reviews. Bad evaluations. And most likely reprimanded.

    Your lack of communication on this update is staggering. The list of bugs and issues I see posted are many. Threads with 7k views and a few hundred comments and still nothing. You have the best MMO on the market right now. Act like it. I run a guild on EP NA ps4. We normally run 4-8 daily. They wait till I get home everyday so that we can have coordinated group play. If I stopped playing because any reason they are all very soon to follow. I don’t want to stop playing at all. I want to possibly grow my guild even more so recently. But when bugs are preventing me from playing (I’ll link the many bug posts I’ve put recently) it gets disheartening. I can’t even get an acknowledgement for bugs that effect everyone on all platforms.

    Come on Zos. Give us a reason to boast about you. Most of these are bugs with videos or easily reproduced. I can’t even get a Thank you for reporting these bugs we are looking into them. I have to fight and ask every update if these can even be addressed. It took over a year to fix healing ward and even 4months to even get addressed. I am tired of making bug reports for them to be ignored.

    I shouldn’t even have to dig an old thread up for your Quarterly Combat Update post just so we may get one.

    If you didn’t write this then I wouldn’t have been able to find this post. I have to manually search for it everytime. Even post I made are in pages 5-9. This doesn’t even show up.

    As stated in Post #12 in the Patch Notes for version 4.0.5 (Summerset & Update 18), pertaining to changes in Combat:
      Rebalanced Light and Heavy Attack damage across weapon types to reinforce the concept that Light Attacks are for dealing damage and Heavy Attacks are for restoring resources. In general, this means:
      Light Attacks with One Hand and Shield, Dual Wield, Bow, Destruction Staff, and Restoration Staff weapons will deal more damage. Light Attacks with Two Handed weapons will deal less damage. Heavy Attacks with Destruction Staff and Restoration Staff weapons will deal more damage. Heavy Attacks with Two Handed, One Hand and Shield, Dual Wield, and Bow weapons will deal less damage.
    In accord with the stated "concept", Light Attacks with Destruction Staves and Restoration Staves "will deal more damage".

    However, it is not in accord with that "concept" if Heavy Attacks with Destruction Staves and Restoration Staves "will deal more damage". Rather, they should "restore resources" and deal less damage just as Heavy Attacks with Two-Handed and One-Handed melee weapons and with Bows (a two-handed weapon) should "restore resources" and "will deal less damage".

    Which leads to the question: is the quoted description incorrect, or has the effect of Heavy Attacks with Destruction Staves and Restoration Staves actually been implemented in the game as stated?

    In my humble opinion, the notion that any attack will, in and of itself, "restore resources" is patently ridiculous. Light attacks do less damage than Heavy Attacks, but Heavy Attacks require more time to effect. Of course, a character should not be able to do more damage in total with two or more of Light Attacks during the span of time required to "fully charge" a Heavy Attack that afflicts much more damage.

    The effect of that in practice is that a character might use a Heavy Attack to kill an opponent with one strike, unless the attacking character also is wounded or weakened enough that two or more Light Attacks by their opponent will kill them before the attacker can "fully charge" the Heavy Attack.

    We do not need "restoring resources" to encourage players to use Heavy Attacks. Just make it more effective to use them. For example, not only would a Heavy Attack do significantly more damage, the probability of a Critical Strike should also be much higher for a Heavy Attack that is "fully charged" than for a Light Attack.
