I was so upset yesterday when the score got close with AD pushing I suddenly saw a lot of EP switching to the AD side.
Next thing you know AD went from last place to first and EP went to last.
I am so tired of the lack of loyalty and people I thought were friends jumping to the other side to turn the tide when we need them the most.
I am at the point where I no longer want to be in a guild that allows this and almost done with this game.

Returned to Vivec from Shor last night. Instant regret... lol - Lag was so bad it was taking me 3 tries to go through a door when the keep wasn't even under attack. Witnessed 40+ EP and another 40+ DC wipe at the same time at Alessia trying to dethrone AD Emp, and 2 minutes after I'm pretty sure I saw gloating in Guild chat. I'll admit I was a tad triggered and I did contemplate dropping the guild. Shame the GM can't be on more often - Pretty sure if he witnessed that first-hand, there's be a bit of housekeeping taking place afterwards.

Joining the faction that's won the majority of campaigns over the past 18 months is every player's right, but don't be a tool and taunt players you used to run with.

Should probably let go of the loyalty. You know I was a yellow for the longest time, it's just not a thing anymore.

I had the opportunity to stick with a group of people who run tight nit ball groups in PvP and have a lot of fun doing so. Or stay on yellow and be miserable because everything looks the same. I took the ladder, and I don't regret leaving yellow.

He was yellow on PC before he transferred to PS4. He has/had his own reasons for leaving yellow behind. I think I have an idea why, but it dates back to what was going on in PvP pre-console launch. EP was really dominate in PvP for the first year and a half.

Well after some talk with our guild leader and some of us original members of the guild a good compromise has been reached. It was decided you could still play other alliances and remain in the the guild so long as you only play on the other alliances in a different campaign and not in our guilds main campaign Vivec.

I would be just as loyal if our guild was an AD guild but it was created as an EP guild with some of the best EP players in the game so we feel very strongly about loyalty and don't even mind being the under dog.

For me it is about being loyal to your guild mates and friends not just the alliance.
When the going gets tough guild members should be fighting on the same side not against each other.
Yes it is a game but we all put a lot of time and effort into builds and skills so I guess we do take it serious.
But hey that is how we roll.

I mean, not gonna say I assume to know your friends, but I know the folks in Stoney's guild do swap toons to others alliances. No one seems to have a problem if I'm fighting guild mates who are on a different color. We all try to make it just a fun thing, and never about competition any more.

Fierce Competition seems to only dampen the experience for me, at least me personally.

Gooch is a guy. If that is what he is doing he can stay on yellow I don't want to see that.

It seems like everyone has a yellow alt. See DC and EP guys on yellow all the time. The flooding one faction so we get pop lock yellow v 2 bar red and blue is lame.

i'm not really sure i get the flooding to yellow either...

my purpose for jumping around is to hit 100k on each character...once that's accomplished I'll generally just play in which ever is the low pop faction when I want to pvp...

I know though lots of folks make their decision as to which side to play for other reasons...i assume it's to play with friends or try to achieve something leaderboard wise...

Can always run with me and Stoney.

I switched to a Bleed build to help out the group for the really tanky targets we encounter. Ran it last night on my StamWarden, it's absolutely devastating with Rending Slash/Flurry + Shalks.

Probably because it's more fun to steamroll people than it is to be steamrolled.

PvP was designed at a time when it was assumed that the major campaign would always be pop-locked on all 3 factions, so it would balance itself numbers-wise.

Except for events and school breaks, those days are over. The system allows players in pop-locked factions to bypass their queue by grouping with a player on a non-locked faction, making the imbalance even worse. Low population bonuses are worthless, and the winning side gets buffed so they can hit the outnumbered faction(s) even harder.

So many things can be done to fix this situation but nobody from ZOS is asking for ideas. There's a general lack of interest there, and that's probably why there are so many threads asking if PvP is even a priority for ESO developers any more.

What capn said was true for why I Left AD.
Which is why I try to stay out of Zone chat for the most part in DC.
My favorite line in irl and in game is “I don’t do politics “ because some people forget this is a game and we turn it off at night.
I get more hate mail for playing cross alliance and trolling more then anything, and I havnt logged onto my AD toon unless I’m trolling ad in chat.

At the end of the day, I’m just a dude, with 13 other players that just want to play and have fun and coordinate with each other
, that’s what makes my group magic, when we take Ls, we laugh, and respawn , and reflect on what we can do better to not die next time .

A lot of it is like “traitor” or “I know who you are”
Stuff on that guide lines. Personally it doesn’t bother me I just laugh, but AD was to much for me when in fact I wasn’t even trying to get EMP and be number 1 but I still got emp.
I wasn’t even getting a AP buff, I was working, was sleeping no effort at all.
Not my fault my AP gains were stronger then the AP gains from taking empty keeps.
People swore I didn’t sleep but my guildies know the real story.

howdy @Stoney_McGeee ...so glad you could join us here...have heard a ton of good things about you...

always good to run in to you out in vivec (although in a few of those occasions the cap'n herself stomped on me :))...

I definitely appreciate the fact that there are strong group leaders out there whom are willing to move to where help is needed the most (for almost the last year or so now that would be to DC)...

for myself much more important how a person plays (in terms of not using exploits or purposefully "griefing" other players) than which specific banner they chose to fight for...

My group mostly push’s ad for obvious reasons.
But if EP has the lead and they’re pushing our home keeps, I turn my attention to EP.
I brought back our home scroll from EP but there is some DC who still think I’m up to no good.
Maybe down the line people will realize I’m only trying to help.
If I’m on DC, I’m going after EP and Ad. If I’m ad I’ll go for ep and dc. (No interest in play ad unless they become underdogs again like the good ole days.)

on my AD mag sorc for the evening...maybe the oddest thing yet I've seen - just captured 5 consecutive keeps and only saw two enemies the whole time...what's up with that??? :p

finally on the 6th keep ran in to a few enemies inside defending (actually they had just finished taking the keep themselves)...

yeah, I remember a year and a half or so ago AD was the place to be...always being outnumbered almost forces you to have to group, plus, always fighting outnumbered and on the 3rd place team made people pretty relaxed and just out to have fun...

Hearing all the AD horror stories bums me out. Has anyone had a good experience on AD? After seeing all the cool posts in this thread it makes me want to try fighting with some of you rather than against you. I promise to be just as ineffective with you as I was against you.

From the desk of Talion the Mighty:
War. War never changes. Since the dawn of mer, when our ancestors first discovered the killing power of rock and bone, blood has been spilled in the name of everything: from the gods, to justice, to simple psychotic rage, to a mistake with the Amulet of Kings which launched a potential plane meld and a three way battle for control of an empire...

    ...

We're holed up inside Nikel and the sound of ballistas knocking on the door sends a chill down even the most hardened spine. Those soldiers are out for blood and the only thing between them and us is a few flimsy timbers. My Rattlecage armor has begun to feel like a cage and the Vicious Death it is paired with is soaked with the blood of too many enemies to count.

    Bam! Bam! Bam!

With a final shudder, the door bursts open and the men and mer of the Covenant come pouring in. Our guys are ready, snares are thrown down and oils are poured. The battle is short but intense. Four Blues on the back flag all with low health... I turned away from the front door, and let loose with a Soul Assault blast on one. He dies a blue-fiery death and his death chains to his neighbor and his neighbor and then the fourth also succumbs. It was a victory of sorts. The type of chain reaction that every mage wearing Vicious Death hopes for. The "of sorts" comes next as I am steam rolled by a wave of the Lion army.

    ...

It is the festival of New Life and all I've seen is death. The death of those around me as well as my own. I am Talion the Mighty, a Palatine in the army of the Aldmeri Dominion and I need to rest. I will return to my home in Rivenspire where my neighbors likely have sons in the very war I just came from. Maybe I've killed them and never even knew their names. I will sit on my Daedric Throne of Skulls and stare into my Khajiit firepit and ponder my place in the world. Perhaps I will venture into Sotha Sil's Clockwork City.

Ok - so I made a girl character, sue me...

Greetings! Today I had my first adventure in Cyrodiil. Vivec is the front where the action happens, or so Talion tells me. Oh, perhaps I should introduce myself first. I am Diana Venatrices, Imperial Warden, signed on with the Aldmeri Dominion. I had Talion set me up with a set of Eternal Hunt in the Skinchanger style. I look quite smart in it, thank you very much! Except for the helmet, it's too big and looks like I'm wearing my dad's helmet. So I hide that and wear a laurel crown I found lying around. I went in at level 32 and returned home at level 35. I also went from Volunteer to Tyro in my service to the queen.

Probably the most fun I've had in a while. All the armor is well-fitted because, who doesn't want comfortable armor? Champion points into reduced cost roll dodge and I just roll around the battle like a soccer ball, all while placing those eternal hunt runes all around. Those things immobilize and do over 8,000 damage! (More if I hit a werewolf in form... I want to be a werewolf)

The biggest moment was again at Nikel. Whereas Talion saw only another battle, I was looking forward to the chance to show my stuff. I'm all sworded and boarded and ready for that door to come down. Up above, we have plenty of oils being poured and I am an Ice Fortress ready for the enemy. When it opens, they rushed towards the door and I hit the gripping shards, dodge roll to place a rune so they can't move, and blast the permafrost. So many of them were locked in ice, only to be thawed to death by the boiling oil being poured from above! Bee-ee-aye-you-tiful. Fetcherflies were swarming through their ranks and while I wasn't wrecking 1v1, I had a hand in taking down so many.

Not to mention, our army was stronger by my being there if I do say so myself. And I do. Ice fortress for everyone! And what girl doesn't want their own enchanted forest? You know who else wants an enchanted forest? A group of your friends-in-arms being subjected to yet another eye of flame train, that's who. There I was, just a lowbie, launching subterranean assaults, spinning a steel tornado of death with my twin daggers, launching cliff racers after those lone targets who were left after the oil/ice death combo... Wow. Who knew being a Warden would be this much fun?

    -Diana

ps A member of the Ebonheart Pact hit me with a quick shot when I was sitting on my elk looking over my skills. Fortunately I wasn't alone and that soldier died quickly. I was deep in my pack and not paying attention so after they died I went over to them and my knees gave out, and then they firmed up, then they gave out again, then they firmed up... but I'm not usually weak in the knees like that, so if that EP person was anyone in this thread, I'm sorry about that. If it was just a slap to say hello, I owe you an apology. I didn't see the name of the person, so if it was any of you, I'll be glad to fight you one-on-one so you can get another Warden kill on your tally.

howdy @Ballcap ...i hope your day is going well, and your health and spirits both fine...

as always, thank you so much sharing your stories - definitely bring a big smile to my face...

wow, you most certainly do have some finely geared characters...it's cool to hear how you've synergized their playstyles...

I've been making a bunch of recent gear changes on some characters: finally wanted to give 7th legion a try on my stam dk - a sure sign that the set will be nerfed soon...

and, also making my stam sorc a lot more durable...trying to make 7 medium work...

he does fine around zerg fighting, but the only way I can figure out right now how to successfully 1v1 is by putting on impregnable and brass fortress...

sorry to be a copy cat - but, your vicious death story kinda inspired me...been thinking of making a change with my magplar...already wears rattlecage - think I'll switch out his julianos and put on some VD (I literally have like three sets of it :o)...

come to think of it - my EP magplar has ww unlocked...might just change him from 5 light/2 heavy to 2 light/5 heavy and re-slot his ww...right now I only have 2 active ww's and they're both DC...

unfortunately I don't have an AD ww (my stamblade is a vamp)...whenever I see other players transform - it always makes me wanna join in and fight with them...

just got reminded of an age old cyrodiil truism - it's not the player in front of you trying to dizzy swing you to death that's a problem, it's that player you never see poking you full of lethal arrows while that player is trying to dizzy swing you to death that'll get ya :)

got to actually see the verminous fabricant on the mad tinkerer set proc a few times...the issue on the set isn't in its proc rate at all - it's worse than the bear when it comes to actually hitting any one with it...

at about 37 with both wardens now...right around level 44 I'll do my last gear change before turning vet - don't think I'll be equipping this set ever again...

How are you guys able to function at all in PVP? The lag is unbearable, especially in the Vivec Campaign, but also Shor! Ever since the load screen "fix," I haven't been able to play. I have 70mbps and I can be anywhere in Cyrodiil—4am CST, 1 bar across the board—and a skill like dizzy swing takes 6secs to go off (I counted). Anyone else suffering from this lag? It feels like the solo players are the only ones who aren't blind to it. I've been forced into making this forums account in the hopes of making a thread about it later when I have a video uploaded.

EDIT: @geonsocal As for your apparent struggle against dizzy swing, it's the most easily countered ability in PvP since the nerf to wrecking blow. All you have to do is stay close and walk through your opponent continuously throughout a fight to avoid it. It needs an animation speed-up.

howdy @Abysswarrior45 ...sorry to hear the lag is killing your enjoyment of the game...

glad though that you've joined us here on the forums...

to be honest - at this point I think I've just played so long I don't really notice it much anymore...

actually, I do notice it - more than likely - I've just become numb to it...

I've only really played in the 30 day cp map for the last couple of years...i don't always encounter lag, but, yeah - when the player count on the screen gets up around 20 or so things start getting choppy...

I've stopped even getting pissed when I die to lag - just another way to die in cyrodiil to me now...

usually when it starts getting really bad I start spamming heals - cuz, there's absolutely no way to know how much damage your character has already received...

hopefully at some point zos is able to redeploy that performance update that they had to roll back (due to it causing those endless load screens)...

thanks for taking the time to make a forum account, record some video and raise this issue with zos once again...

wish you the best and hope to see you out there in vivec (hopefully not during some game play lag fest :#)...
