Worse thing is that the motif is not account wide but per character. No thanks, I will keep my money and I don't like the looks.
Good point about it not even being account-wide. That makes the price even worse. At least with a mount, all the toons on that account can use it.

AGREE! I CAN afford it and still would not.

So excuse me for thinking these motifs are worth more than those you simply get for a easy quest.

If you think the $50 price tag for some digital clothing is appropriate, then please tell me why the entire game itself isn't being sold for at least $100? Cause obviously an entire video game and all it's base content should be worth much more than a few pieces of digital clothing.

People who buy the motif from the crown store are paying $50 to not play the content. It sounds like you want to be a part of that crowd (except not pay quite as much). Why?

Because farming Vet Ruins HM for a random chapter, regardless if it's 100% drop or not does not sound like a fun time to a player of my particularly underwhelming caliber. And no, "git gud" is not a viable excuse. I've spent two years "gitting gud" and I still know the SoTH Dungeons on Vet would be murder to me and a detriment to others. I've been there before. Trying to farm Vet Cradle for that stupid Velidreth Helm and every single time was a complete failure no matter the group. And with a very vocal playerbase calling for even harder content all the time, and ZOS having even a slight inclination to listen to them, yes, I'm willing to spend (some) money on something I can't realistically acquire in-game just so my Crafter knows more styles.

If the crown store was the only way to get it, this would be an outrage. However, even if you don't have the skill to beat vRoM regularly for drops, you can just buy the motifs with gold.

A little effort ingame and the motif pieces are yours.

That's what I ended up doing for Mazzatun Chests. 40,000 out of pocket. And that's actually a lot of coin for me considering I ever have around 100k at any given time.

I agree that they over charges us on this and to make matters worse they did not even make this item account wide which they really need to do.

Please in the future make future crown store items like this account wide for all characters on their account.

I remember in March and April when I farmed those motifs like crazy. One day I had a total of 11 runs, all vet HM, 9 vRoM and 2 vCoS. Waiting for motifs to be added to HotR too ;)

All prices are high except for the big houses and mansions. For mansions 1 crown is ~700 gold, for medium houses 1 crown is ~60 gold. Do the math :D Or vampire bite, 1500 crowns or just ask someone ingame and get it for free.

Most of it is a fast shortcut for people with money but without time.

    Feedback for ZOS:

I bought one 5500 crown pack with the express purpose of purchasing this motif. I doubted I even would ever craft it; it was simply for completionist/master writ purposes. I knew the motif was up for sale but didn't know the cost.

After logging in, I couldn't buy it even with the extra few crowns I had on my account plus the 5500. Was a huge turn off; didn't buy. So you got the 5500 sale, but overall you lost because now I'll use it for the next thing I want instead of getting crowns again.

Not sure how many sales you made, but as a customer who does buy from the Crown Store (I bought the Grand Topal Hideaway without a second thought, because I loved it), not being able to obtain a motif with one purchase of the largest bucket of crowns available was definitely the line. Especially since it is kind of a pain to buy two crown packs at once.

In case there are others out there like me, I thought you might want to know. Probably would have purchased it for 5500. I do not mind supporting the game with purchases, since I am lucky enough to be able to afford to do so from time to time. Agree with what others have said that motifs cannot be too cheap, because it de-valuers crafters and the time it takes to obtain the motifs in game.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Whatever allows them to keep the doors open without affecting me is fine. I don't need the motif, and won't pay that much, but if others do, I'm just happy.

Truly, I'm not sure what the issue is. If you think the price is too high, don't buy it, but be glad others do so you can keep playing.

You act like they NEED to sell *** at such ridiculous prices to keep the game online. I assure you they don't. 6,000 crowns may not look bad to some now imagine the crown store prices were USD and you would see roughly a $44 price tag on this. This is insane. It's ONE cosmetic item for the nearly the price of the ENTIRE base game + Morrowind. Stupid people will buy it though, and other stupid people will try and justify it. To each their own. This just shows me how damn greedy ZoS is.

There are x amount of crowns in circulation. The crown store is a crown sink to get rid of accumulation and attract impulse buyers who are the first to complain about the price lol. You do not need the motiff and can get it in game. Look at vamp bite and werewolf bite you can get that ingame easy and for free etc.

When bites were put on the crown store, it was a (poor/expensive) solution to the problem of people scamming other players or camping the spawns to kill them before anyone could use them. Not much they could do about people not technically breaking rules on the camping/killing thing, because you're allowed to destroy enemies as much as you want at any location you choose. And technically, they never actually supported people demanding money for giving out bites in the first place, so they saw no reason to offer a way to circumvent it. Also, the werewolf quest has always been broken, from my experiences trying to finish it, and after having to log in and out about 20 times to complete all the steps, just paying was worth it the last time I turned a character.

Also, not everyone plays in a way that's conducive to getting motifs that are difficult to obtain. This includes buying them at guild traders, because on console, prices are still inflated and outrageous. They may not want to run dungeons for enough time to rack up that much coin or do the harder stuff to get the chapters outright, so this is just another shortcut for people to get something they may use later. Transmog will eventually show up, and you don't need to be a subscriber/member to dye your gear, so the people who like cosmetics may just be squirreling these things away for when their rainy day finally comes. I know I am. And I had crowns left, so I didn't care about the price. It was steep, but pfft, there's nothing else to buy. Everything is crates now.
