Now, however, since ZoS has created an arbitrary distinction between two things which are essentially the same, I'm wondering if it is really worth it. What are the benefits of ESO+ aside from access to newly-released content (which we can't necessarily count as a benefit now)?
When you subscribe, you should be doing it to play for free the content in the game RIGHT NOW. You should not be subscribing right now in order to play for free content that is not even in the game.
What makes you say that? I mean, if you market a service or product as giving you access to all current and future DLCs, then you can't really blame customers for expecting that.
Hold on now. You think paying for a subscription right now let's me play content for free 3 months from now? You need to have a subscription now to play content now. You need to have a subscription in 3 months to play the content (new or old) 3 months from now.
People seem to believe that having a subscription for the last 2 years "banked" privilege for them. Everything you paid for with your subscription you have received. If they chose to release content now that is not covered by a subscription you can choose to not subscribe. You owe them nothing, they owe you nothing.
Like I said in another thread, only people who purchased a 6 month subscription that will overlap into the new content in June have a case to be upset, maybe. But then those people had no idea new content was coming out when they purchased the 6 month sub (and were satisfied with their purchase at that time) so maybe not.
@bulbousb16_ESO You cannot purchase Morrowind with crowns.

With the normal price of the 1500 crown pack you get the subscription perks basically for free,1500 crowns equals the price of one month sub.
@SnuggleMePlease
You have no lasting drawbacks from cancelling your sub. You can re-sub any given time. If you ask yourself if it'S worth to pay 14€ a month for a game, then it's not worth it. After all it's just one game. If you love eso and the sub perks, keep the sub. Otherways cancel it.
you make a good point on lowest price calculation....
i sub for 180 days at a time it costs £41.94..... that is 0.233p per day.
Oh didn't realise it was so cheap for six months. That affects my math from above a lot. At that rate I would be worse off by £20 to cancel my sub and buy all current and 2017 dlc. Will check out the six month option
Nope. It's a retail purchase only, just like the base game.bulbousb16_ESO wrote: »when Morrowind is released, you can buy it with your Crowns.
So? So did everyone that bought the base game in that time. So did everyone that purchased crowns during that time. Nowhere in the ESO+ marketing materials have they ever published that you get to rent a developer to work on anything in particular.I_killed_Vivec wrote: »There have been rumours about Clockwork City for ages (probably two years). You were told to expect a named DLC every 3 months, and that was the plan ... over a year and a half ago! They kept to that schedule for 5 releases. I fail to see how something mentioned at a conference over a year before 1 tamriel was released continues to be brought up as a sort of immutable gospel truth or promise for every single ESO+ sub since then.I_killed_Vivec wrote: »Also, we were promised DLC delivered approximately every 3 months.

Do Exactly As I Say!
1. Drop your ESO+ subscription.
2. Continue playing.
3a. If you enjoy the game just as much without the sub, keep playing without it.
3b. If you find yourself missing ESO+ enough to want to pay for it, resubscribe.
These are your orders. Do not deviate from them in any way.
Now hop to it!
I think that's for the full version. The upgrade version should be $40. Maybe it's not up yet?I'm personally keeping mine, however, I just checked on the expansion in the PS4 store and they want $60 for it.
Nope, not for me. I too, thought that all this stuff was included but looks like someone got greedy at zos and moved the goalposts around.

Today, you cannot. This summer, you absolutely will be able to, just the way you can buy all other additional content with Crowns (including, for example, the Digital Imperial Edition).

That is the only thing that makes ESO+ slightly worth it in my opinion. The crafting bag is really useful, but I've managed without it before.
Also, while I'm at it, I just want to clarify that I would mainly like to generate discussion and gather opinions on the matter? I'm not necessarily asking someone to make a decision for me.

it is worth going here to officially discuss ESO Plus that ZOS_GinaBruno has stickied.
