i have had no problem with any of the other dungeons, but the DLC 4 mans are just too rough to pug or try to sherpa through, I'm all for taking them off the random list.

I was ranking up a new toon and it was terrible getting these dungeons for random normal, not because with a half decent crew they couldn't be done (it's normal XD), just cause these dungeons are unlocked as soon as you hit level 10, these should not be the first dungeons people do, even if they did pay for the dlc.

CoS is boring. Very boring in design and atmosphere. Nice boss mechanics, yes, but all other things are boring. Why game developers still think that spiders are interesting in any possible ways? Spiders are boring. The most boring creatures in all modern culture. They are not scary or spooky for people without arachnophobia, just extremely boring.
So yes, I agree. This dungeons should be removed from random list.

Atleast remove them from random vet dungeons. Many people can complete them but all it takes is 1 person to not be able to pull their weight or not know what is going on to screw everything.

1 person refusing to look at text chat or listen to voice chat can cause the group to fail. These dungeons seem to be the only ones where that happens. The rest of the dungeons can be beaten without everyone knowing all the mechanics.
I don't think we should make them easier, just pull them from the random veteran dungeon list. They don't belong next to the rest of the vet dungeons.

Initially I had a long rant posted because I thought we were discussing removing them from the daily pledges....silly me.

Yeah they are tough, very in some cases. Often times I'm faced with the same choice....hour plus of frustration or a 15 min cook down. Depends how I feel that second which I choose. That being said, no they should stay in the line up. 15 mins is nothing compared to the time we all have invested in each of our characters.

Some of you have said that you need a good team to do these....partially true. If you yourself know the mechanics to a fight where no one else does...you explain them. There was a time when we were all new and didn't know a thing about dungeon mechanics...someone either taught us, or we taught ourselves through YouTube or stubborn determination. Either way...welcome to the community, you may need to participate to succeed.

We're not talking about the undaunted pledges, but about Random dungeons.

And I have to agree: I find it kinda odd that a new character has access to the tier-1 dungeons (Banished Cells, Spindleclutch, Fungal Grotto), the *easiest* ones in the game, at level 10. In addition to that though, they have access to the *hardest* ones, WGT, ICP, RoM and CoS. But none of the others. And those 7 can occur when they select a Random Normal. That means they have a 4:3 chance to get a DLC dungeon when they first use the finder!

I don't see the logic behind this. Why restrict access to the vanilla dungeons based on level, but at the same time have the RNG select the hardest ones that a group of level 10-20 has no chance in hell of completing? Especially without coordination via Teamspeak?

It's a different story of course when I'm in TS with my group of 3 and we get a "newbie" as 4th player. We can carry them just fine. But as far as I'm concerned, when I'm PUGing alone, I do it like the OP and immediately leave the group when a DLC dungeon comes up in the random finder.

So yes, my vote definitely goes to "add a checkbox to choose whether or not to get them".

Sure they can be annoying..and a time.sink.if you are on a speed XP run, but also with my L14 healer I got WGT with a L20 tank and two 561 DPS. They burnt the bosses as fast we got it done in 30 mins. Also I got ICP with my main and the group where on the last boss, I ran to.them, burnt the boss first time and got the skill point / random.XP etc so big profit.

Anyway I have three ideas

1. A vote on DLC dungeons. If majority vote to skip it in.the first 60 seconds of grouping you pass it
2. Some indicator that dungeon is half way thru
3. An indocator or pool for those willing to try / explore / slow play dungeons and another for this speed running for the XP. It wrecks it for first timers to charge thru and vice versa, pros don't like people reading all.the books etc.

Absolutely. I agree on all points mentioned for taking them off the list.

I vote for this strange idea :P

You only get three skips and after that you're stuck with whatever you get. These dungeons are much less complicated if you have your friends or guild mates but trying these with randoms is frustrating. My healer almost always is thrown into COS and I don't want to try that dungeon with randoms.

If anyone is going to say "lol you suck" they haven't tried to beat these dungeons with people that have zero clue what they're doing. I'm fine with helping people learn but I don't want to waste my time trying to help someone that doesn't care.

The biggest problem I could see with this suggestion would be newbies getting grouped for one of the dlc dungeons once, ending up in an average/sub-par group and immediately opting out and never trying them again.

I think it would be much better to simply add two queues for the group finder. One that's 'looking to learn/happy to teach' and one that's 'experienced/speed run'. Then everyone knows what to expect when they're put in a group.

I just back out if I queue for a random normal and get a DLC dungeon Ill take a 15 minute penalty instead of getting stuck for hours trying to help the helpless and ultimately fail.
