Fun Game for me for 9 months how about you?

First of all, I consider my money well spent, so this isn't a "QQ" thread. I guess overall I spent about $200 and the game entertained me for about 1,170 hours (30 hrs per week * 39 weeks). I consider 17 cents per hour for entertainment a pretty good bargain. I not only had one epic adventure where I saved the world and defeated a daedric prince, but I also went back in time and saved two other kingdoms. Then I did the hole thing again.

But now I am starting to see that I have to spend an increasing amount of time and effort to gain the same level of enjoyment. Maybe its due to the fact that I don't really see the point of it all after "winning".

What do you find fun after somewhere around CP 350?

PVE
Questing: I've done all the major quests, so now it's just the side quests, which are pretty easy. I mainly do these when I just want to relax or there is nothing else to do.
Dungeons: I basically do dungeons and trials now because "they are there", or someone is looking for people to do it with them. Sure it's fun, but each time you get better and so it's less fun and less challenging each time you do it.
Farming: The idea of doing a the same dungeon a dozen times in the hopes that a specific piece to drop at a reasonable quality just seems like madness / hell to me. I understand that the developers want to prevent people from getting too powerful too quickly, but it just seems extreme right now. How many keys do I need to get a usable shoulder piece? Really?

"special events" can be cool, but mostly I see it as a miserable unendurance grind - like sleeping on the floor at Wal Mart for three days to get the limited edition Star Wars action figure or whatever. I understand how some people do it, but It's not fun for me. I think similarly to dropping money on crown crates.

PVP
I never really enjoyed PVP in Cyrodil or IC because inevitably I'd die from a mob or attack from behind, often from someone using some kind of cheat like two dawnbreakers in a row - or death followed by seeing my opponent's attacks. Or you just couldn't play at all because another color completely controlled the map and would mob you as soon as you left your base.
With One Tamriel I find duelling is quite a bit more enjoyable for me than Cyrodil or IC, it's a bit ironic that low level dueling is often funner than max level dueling because there aren't that many people with 8th level characters sporting legendary instadeath "proc set" builds. So I actually enjoy. dueling on my lower level characters than my.

So I guess I see ahead of me a lot of grinding for gear in order to survive / compete in the world of proc set builds and macro buttons, or just re-roll a few lowbie characters for dueling. Or finding another game. Tonight I decided to fork out the $95 for the Elder Scrolls Anthology. That should be entertaining for 6 months to a year.

I don't think I'll "quit" ESO, but I'm definitely finding it difficult to get motivated to do more than log in and just goof around on a low level character with newbies next to a wayshrine.

If you are over CP350, what keeps you going / motivated?

PS For the inevitable "Can I have your stuff" responses - sure send me a decent quote (in game) for crafting mats and I'll send what I got to you COD plus postage. That's another thing - is there any point in crafting stuff except for training?

Mate, a social guild helps A LOT. As with many MMOs after a while you start logging in to say hi to your guildies. It is true the grinding aspect heavily favors endgame but for me the social aspect becomes a more significant part of my game the more I play.

Overcoming challenges with your guild is extremely satisfying , to me at least.

My nephew was born 9 months ago as a coincidence. In cyrodiil you get better with practice. One thing you can do to increase your survivability is to travel with a group. Aside from pvp there's RP. And then there's trying to collect all the costumes, achievements, non-combat pets, so forth.

2 years is over 1 year.

My main point is to find out what people find to be fun if they've been doing this over one year.

Dawnbreaker has an initial hit and a DoT, so it shows up twice on your death recap. Once it the first impact, the other is all the DoT's added up.

Just seemed odd to leave longer out due to the games age.

I have fun by playing with friends. Doesn't matter really what we do... It's just fun chatting and playing. Did a ton of dungeons tonight... That I've done a million times before... And it was awesome because I was playing with friends.

    Since beta actually.

There was a few months where I only logged in to feed mounts and do writs because I started playing another game. Was hungry for some new quests so had to go elsewhere before the PvE DLCs launched.

Never bothered to finish the Cyro PvE quests after hubby quit playing, and though I purchaced IC (just in case) doubt I will ever go there to the quests ~ PvP just aggrivates me too much.

Not finished TG or DB yet, been taking it slow so not to run out of things to do, but spend most of my time just enjoying the world and if I get itchy for runarounds I go play something else for a bit.

Tamriel is my home now, so until they shut the servers down, it's where I'll hang me hat :)

Ive played since beta, took a small break for the winter/holidays right before they nerfed craglorn grinding. I've made all the classes, did the pvp thing, done trials, questings not really my thing. I luckily get bored right when they decide to release something new.so I keep going, there's many things to keep you involved, just don't burn out doing only one of them.

It was probably around 9 months when I started to lose interest in the game as there wasn't any new DLC at the time and the only content was farming achievements.

Some things I'm enjoying at the moment, 1 1/2 years into the game:

    - Doing silly things and talking with my PvE/social guild, they can make anything entertaining
    - Pvping really badly because I've finished all the quest content so it's something different to try
    - Duelling
    - Chasing achievements because I'm a massive completionist
    - I can't believe I'm admitting this because I said I'd never, ever make a Templar healer but... I made a Templar healer. And more than anything I'm enjoying the level up noise because I haven't heard it in a long time :D.
    - Trying out solo-friendly Craglorn on said Templar using a mix of crafted training gear and random quest rewards (I'm dying to things that I could take out easily on my max level characters and having a blast)
    - Attempting to complete vet Maelstrom on my stamblade - the margin for error is a lot smaller than it is with my mag sorc!
    - I don't really like grinding for gear, so I break that up by doing some of the above activities in between :)
    - Trying out new content whenever it becomes available

Been playing since beta and still having a lot of fun.

Group dungeons, collecting sets, thieving and murdering, optimizing builds for PvP, dueling, crafting, trading. Lots more than that even.

One Tamriel has really opened the game up, plus we've got player housing/furniture crafting coming soon.

One thing that has really helped me stay interested is playing multiple different characters with unique characteristics, very similar to how I like playing the main serie games.

It's basically a form of semi-roleplaying, were I avoid doing certain content unless it fits my character. So i have one magica nighblade assassin, who I reserved for Dark Brotherhood content, a Stamina Nighblade Theaf, and a blacksmith Orc etc.

This also gives me a reason to spend money on the crown store, as I can buy content that fits a large selection of different characters. Player housing will also be a lot of fun, as i can buy and decorate a house for each one.

I've been playing since 1 month before they dropped the subscription and I've been really enjoying it.

I think it helps that I play slowly, I don't spend hours every night in game and when I do I'm often doing things that don't give XP and sometimes don't even count as completion, like wandering around the map taking screenshots or just exploring areas I've not been to in a while.

Which means it takes me a very long time to run out of stuff to do. I don't feel like I've come close to everything there is to do in this game, and I just bought the DLC pack which adds to it.

Only been here about 5 months and I'm still enjoying the game. Once or twice I got so frustrated or bored I stopped playing for a few days but I always end up wanting to come back.
vMSA was a huge reason I almost quit. Took me a span of about 15 hours over a month for me to finally finish it. Then finished it in about 5 hours yesterday. Goin back in today.

Been playing since beta. Took a 6 month break or so at one point due to work issues.

All in all its been an enjoyable experience. The level of enjoyment took a dive with the release of Tamriel Unlimted, removal of soft caps, introduction of CP and on going balance issues.

I continue to play in hopes that one day someone at ZoS will grow a pair and actually do something with all of the issues that have plagued this game for years now.

I guess im a mild roleplayer, i invest myself in my characters building what kind of person they are, and playing the game is simply seeing how my characters lives play out.

My reality is a horrible mess of no friends, financial difficulty, and chronic physical ailments that even once tried to kill me. Cancer sucks. My Khajiit, who can easily wield magic, travel a continent, and battle injustice while sometimes partaking in a little naughty behavior is a magnificent escape.

Well, my trust into ZOS is broken, since they came up with these RNG boxes - which aren't yet implemented on the live servers, but if they will be, then I will have no further interest to play this game. It is not off the table yet, so my interest to play the game is very low, because I think they will come up with an RNG box, where I will not be able to support it without to go against my conscience. This has really put me off from ESO - I subscribed for a year, because I liked the game, but with the RNG boxes in reach, my enjoyment of the game is very low, I had a break of over a month but I am still not likely to want to play. I played a bit yesterday, but then again - what is it good for, ZOS will come up with this RNG boxes and then I it is all over to me. Not even One Tamriel, which I like, can get me to play more. It s not the game, which puts me off, it is ZOS and their greediness, which gets to a new all time high with RNG boxes - where they even become abusive.

Was fun leveling. But since im one of those idiots who believed in ZoS words (play as you want), its just geting frustrating.
Running dailys for Ilambris Shoulders since OT hit. Guess what.... got none.
Im getting more and more pissed. From day to day. I want my money back. Payed Eso+ in advance while i leveled, just to find out how stuüid i was for giving ZoS my cash.
I can loggin for 2-3 hrs, and then im done. There aint anything "mmo whise" to do. Dungeons are a one timer. Why should i go twice?
Patching old Sets, killing my Build, now im on a non optimised Build, since i dont get my *** drop for my new build, and my old build was litterally killed.
Before OT: Set Proc chance 5%. After OT: 5% (every 6,5 secs) wtf...
I could go on and on and on.
Im just not throwing this *** away, cause i payed to *** much Eso+. But this will change in a few weeks, if ZoS doenst do anything...

Haha, that is even more side activity, which is time consuming and does not give a lot of XP - the DLC contents are fun, but TG and DB are not really generating a lot of XP, even those are fun activities.
