- After yesterday's hotfix, you will now receive a message if you are running a system that is not DirectX11 compatible (it says "Your DirectX version is unsupported"). This should help clear up any confusion about whether or not your system is meeting the new spec.
- If you haven't done so already, please review our current minimum system requirements.
- We've seen a few confirmations (both publicly and via PM) that completely removing the game and reinstalling has helped in the event you are meeting min spec, but unable to launch. Make sure you have also downloaded all other required updates as outlined in this help article.
Thanks for the update.
Other than the DirectX version message, is there an explanation for the "Unable to initialize render device" error on launch that some of us have been experiencing since yesterday's hotfix (see quote below for example)?Dagoth_Rac wrote: »

Getting the exact same error. Any information about this error?
Just now I got my 2-nd crash in last 5 minutes, after fresh start of my PC. No system message in crash note, I submitted crash report. I meet 64 bit requirements and play smoothly on average settings with i5, 8GB, GTX660Ti, 15Mbit cable with 50-100FPS and ~80ping. Starting eso 64bit without launcher.
I got 2 crashes in Glenumbra's main city, when standing near to dye station, first time I was just writing on guild chat, then crash and started game again - next crash when I applied a dye to my armor.
Before doing this I was playing all day today, about 6 hours without a single crash, then game crashed suddenly inside some delve area after these 6 hours, and then again I played about 2 hours without crash, doing multiple things and fighting multiple enemies.
I doubt it's anything wrong with my PC, all other games, including GuildWars2, SWTOR and many online shooters, do not crash at all. Seems an ESO speciality after TG dlc - which I do not own, to be precise.
I'm impatiently awaiting official patch improving crashes and increasing stability/graphics stuttering.
My 32-bit client crashed when I tried to port to Wrothgar from Cyrodiil.
There is a constant 999+ lag and the game crashes all the time on both 32-bit and 64-bit versions.
Is this a DDOS or server side connectivity issue ?
Server: PC EU
@ZOS_GinaBruno Can you please check this out at your side ?
It will be most appreciated
Edit: There is no crash log since it only crashes to the login menu each time(not a complete crash).
Reinstall done and yes, that fixed the issue for me too *_*
