Upgrade has nothing to do with it.

I'm on i7 GTX 980, even reinstalled fresh Win 10 Pro, (genuine and fully updated) because I was running Win8 updated to Win10 so thought it might be the reason. Fresh install of Win 10 (and always new Nvidia drivers) and nothing has changed.

Yesterday the game died 2 times, it just locks and you can't even ALTCTRDEL, because desktop is blacked out, it's good that you have access to windows start so I can log out.

Also getting this blacked out crash where you manually have to power off your comp. Can still hear staticy ts but the computer is completely crashed.

So based on the Crash thread being unstickied from the main forum, I am assuming they believe it to be fixed or fixed for enough people that they are done.

New patch, same crashes...

Real shame as I liked this game, but seems they are giving up on the ones of us left that cannot play.

EDIT: The thread has been made sticky again, so hopefully more will be done to fix it.

Maybe this is Zenimax respnse to fix the lag,causing their game not to work therefore less people can get on.. So less strain on the servers.. Instead of giving away that 1 million they should have used it to upgrade their servers..

Been a few patches since I last posted here, figured something would've been done bout the constant crashing but I guess I was wrong.

Perhaps I need to lower my expectations that *** will ever be fixed.

Constant crashing on character loading screen means if I ever get into the game on 1 character I better hope I don't crash or need to switch cause there will be 10 or more consecutive character page crashes before I can.

Ok so.. in frustration, I figured I would try one more thing, which was to completely erase and delete every bit of the game. I then did a fresh install.

I can definitely still feel some FPS struggles from time to time, but I have not crashed since, so I will keep playing a little more tonight and tomorrow and update here if I still crash or not.

EDIT: Soon as I got near a city, I crashed.

EDIT 2: So after that crash, I reduced my graphics setting from High to Medium. Since then I have played three times, one in city and once doing one of those world event things. Since changing settings to Medium, I have not crashed in any of the following play I mention.

Sorry to keep updating so much, but it seems that each person, based on their system and their setup, has a slightly different fix. I will keep playing on and off today and will update if the crashes start again.

This is not what you should have to do to play the damn game because they broke it.

Completely re-installing is a lot to download.

So we were trying to do Maw of Lawkhaj again tonight... made very hard by at least one person crashing every 2 mins! Personally mine crashed about half a dozen times during one run...

Never had that before thieves guild came out... but since then it's been horrific.

I've read the patch notes but there wasn't something in the description: fixed an issue where you could get certain crashes.

I believe when we raided prev week Tuesday we had so many crashes on last boss but yesterday we barely had any disconnect on the trial. I still wonder what is causing it.

I've been having constant crashing these past days. Crashed 5 minutes after logging in after this patch. Crashed again 2 minutes after coming back.

My suggestion to everyone is to take any guess work from your situation.

Completely remove every single remnant of the game from your system, including addons and any folders it creates.
Reboot your system and then re-install 100% fresh.
Take your graphic settings to Medium defaults.
Then run the game and play it for a bit.

Total pain in the ass = Absolutely, but then at least you know it is 100% not you or your configuration.

I did all the above, and the game has been running with only 1 crash in about 2 hours of play, which it was every 2 to 5 minutes before.

If you guys have tried all the steps on the first page and are still running into issues, try switching between the 32-bit and 64-bit clients (depending on which one you've been trying to launch with).

Mac users seem to have a lot of the issues, but are only provided one client to choose from. Just saying, because as a Mac user, each time that is said annoys me

oh for those who are having black screen crash issues i suggest doing this:
make a notepad file, rename it to CRASH.bat
put this inside it:
taskkill.exe /f /fi "status eq not responding"

then put the bat file on your start menu as a shortcut, so now you can just hit windows key then close it with the bat file without needing to log out or windows
used this solution for skyrim/NV for when it would black screen and stop responding

I have little trouble when playing my Sorc main for the most part some glitches here and there and in Hews Bane. Nothing big. When I started running my Kahjit NB Vamp through the TG DLC I started crashing a lot just with that guy anytime he trespasses or is in a heist (3 times in a row from a heist just before this posting

). It's like the game can't handle the stealth I can get really close to people and still be hidden. And I haven't even gotten the TG stealth passives yet he's only level 3 with that guild. I hope that this info will help you track down and fix the trouble. Crash reports were submitted, first one without comment, the other two briefly say what I was doing.

yesterday i had no issues whatsoever - but today i get booted from game every now and then, cyrodiil, pve zones...and troubles loggin back in (error 108)
6 times now i got kicked. getting tired of this

This issue crops has come up every few days ever since Thieve's GUild went live. I spend a day or so with few crashes, and then for the nexy day or two I get kicked to the log in screen with increasing frequency until just getting onto a character boots me back.

I then have to try and log in three or more times before I can get back onto another character only to be kicked off even sooner than I was last time. I even get kicked to log in while just standing still in AD's gold zone -Bangkorai which is pretty much empty.

At this point it takes four minutes of all manner of time out and error messages to get on for less than a minute, and I have just given up.

1) Have uninstalled and done a clean install twice now each of which took over six hours each.

2) Have tried using both the 64 and 32 bit client with the same issues.

3) Uninstalled all add ons. Repeatedly.

4) Turn graphics down to the lowest setting.

5) Restarted my router, repeatedly.

6) Done repairs after every third or fourth drop.

7) etc, etc.

Just reconfirmed my issue is only with my NB. Game just crashed 3 times in a row. Two while in the thieves den and one in a heist with him, but ran fine with other toons.

OK how about the other questions...since My pc client no longer works is Zos going to offer me a game key for xbox one or ps4...what about the costumes and mounts and pets and the packs of goodies I have bought with my crowns...what about the 5400 crowns sitting there I have collected using my eso plus membership that I had to cancel. What about all the money I spent this entire year to play this game that has been working just fine until now. I didn't break the game. I paid for the game. I paid the monthly subscription. I collected the in game items with my crowns,some bought with my money some as a perk of my monthly subscription. I can handle rolling a new toon and starting over but all the things that I actually spent money on, what happens to that? Is there going to be nothing done about it. All of us in this situation are just out of luck. I feel as though I got robbed.

Just emailed that to tech support...lets see what the response is to this one.

It was mentioned in the ESO Live today that the 'crashing' issues were fixed in 48 hours.

I guess all of us who are still crashing are having crashes that don't qualify as crashes.

I just wanted to update.

I had crash every 2 to 5 minutes without fail, all day and night, regardless of scenario, after the thieves guild patch.

I removed every element of the game and addons, reinstalled it fresh and then played with no addons. I lasted much longer this time without crashes, but crashed once after about 30 minutes or so.

I then moved settings from HIGH to MEDIUM (nothing else) and found I went about 3 hours and then had a single crash.

After that for the next 2 days, I had 0 crashes and started to add back my addons one by one.

I am now 3 days later again, running dungeons, instances, etc, in and out of town, with 0 crashes in 5 days now.

If you have truly not tried a completely fresh install, then I would really start there.

The game crashes constantly on PS4 too now. It used to be an occasional thing, but this is ridiculous. I am surprised Sony passed this for release.

My first and only crash so far today was within minutes of zoning in with my character. Locked up, tab out and check .exe. It was only using 300mb of RAM within that whole time..

PS4 NA server and we just had 3 out of 4 players freeze and crash half way through Vet Wayrest Sewers run. Now I am trying to switch characters and game crashes during character load screen for my EP character in Deshaan - 7 times before it worked. Game also kicking my friend out of group chat even though it keeps him in the group. Has only been am issue since TG upgrade this week.
