Game Crashing Issues

The crashes were not that often up until today. After downloading the incremental patch, I could not enter the game.
Always got into character select, and always crashes during map loading screen.

I disabled all my addons and got in.

With the method of: one addon at a time, I managed to find the one that bugged out my loading.

Master Merchant.

One of THE best addons, and sorely missed now that I disabled it.

Sadly I have already deleted MasterMerchant including all related files and I still crash regularly.

Game crashing entire PC when respawning in IC. This is on NA DC Trueflame, windows 10/6600k/16gb/gtx970. I have to turn power on and off to rectify.

So, I have been unable to play the game at all in the past few days. Right after TG, it did fine, no crashes, it just started happening Sunday morning this past week. I login, sometimes I crash at the character selection menu and not even 5 mins in the game I crash right back out into the login menu. It's getting very annoying. If it keeps it up today, I'm cancelling my sub that I'v have for almost 2years. Everything else is working fine that requires internet so I know it's not my internet connection, OH and yesterday while downloading the patch it kept stopping and saying "WebGet request failed" what the heck! I'v never seen that before. I'm on pc btw.

From what I can gather there have been a lot of issues with the current NVidia drivers, I know this won't apply to everyone but the last stable driver was 362.00 or earlier. I personally am still using 358.00 and have had no graphical glitches or crashes at all running an EVGA GTX 780 TI SC Water cooled....just a thought

Yup, still no improvement here either since yesterday's "crash patch" its driving me crazy, I can't play the game at all.

I play at home with my wife and two kids, my wife and I on two different PCs, the kids on 2 Razer Blade laptops. All different systems, some with add-ons, some without. All running Windows 10 and fully updated drivers. We all crashed at the exact same time during an EH dungeon run today, this has to be something related to the base game code and cannot be due to hardware, windows OS or directx

Crashed twice last night, both times in group dungeons. Once on the 64-bit client (which still has pink items and missing textures), and once on the 32. My rig is well above minimum specs, and my gpu is a 16GB gtx980 without the latest nvidia driver updates.

I can't enter the game... just one character is working...
I crashed near 15h30, so i try to restart my computer, update windows, update graphic card, run with client 32bits and 64bits...
Nothing change, i can just play on my main character

64bit version still crashing randomly. Sometimes 10 minutes in, other times on the first loading screen. 32bit version works 100%. I submitted a crash report.

After the update(s) the game now also often fails to close properly, requiring me to CTRL+ALT+DEL myself into the Task Manager and kill it.

For those getting a crash after the first loading screen. Try disabling add-ons. My game loads fine now. Going through each add-on to see which one is causing the crash and will update

MasterMerchant causing crash after being updated to latest version (1.8.3). No crashes when turned off. Issue only started today after updating MM to this version.

Master merchant definitely one the best addon and pretty much a must have for a lot of players.

If only Zos dedicated some time to developing a decent trading UI.

Addons are a great idea but a game with a vanilla UI is going to have problems, especially when something awesome like MM comes along and is dependent on an individual.

Whatever the patch for today did (March 15th 2016) it has broken my game.

I cannot load a character, it crashes. I've tried disabling all addons, same thing.

No crashes in Sanctum today. But then final boss in vMOL and without fail we had 2-3 people crashing before we could even finish 1 full cycle with the boss. The crashes seem much worse since the latest hot fixes. Something has been broken again.

You're lucky you're even able to get into the game.

I can't load a character. I tried updating my graphics card drivers, no luck. I've made sure I'm using the latest version of DX11 for Windows 7, still no luck.


I hate patches that actually make the game WORSE. I don't even know what to do now.

SOLUTION to crashing on Character Load:

DISABLE MASTER MERCHANT!

I thought I had disabled everything before when I tried but apparently I screwed that up.

Now when I explicitly uncheck all like 12 Master Merchant checkboxes in the addon screen before character load, the game works.

I hope whoever makes MM can figure out what the issue is, it's one of my most important addons.

No addons. Game crashes right after launching the game.

Stupid encoders for ruining the game after the latest maintenance patch. Now they don't know what to do.

I tried the 64bit client today again after the patch. Now I see purple wolves in Cyrodiil. My monkey pet looks ok now nevertheless.

Just got my first crash. Gonna try 32 bit client.

Was fine before today's update.

I had a similar occurrence last night. Playing PVE with 2 friends in Loth'Na Caverns in Craglorn, we were all on voice comms (skype) & we all crashed at the same time. We all have very different computers & internet connections. All running Windows 7. The game froze & locked up... had to manually close & restart the ESO application to continue.

Yesterday, everything worked fine. Today, loaded small patch that broke the game- add ons or not. Desktop and laptop both not working.

Yesterday...fine.

Today post mini patch...not so fine.

Everything is updated, my equipment more than meets minimum specs, Master Merchant is turned off and I have crashed 20 times.

I'm not sending them another spec list on my computer it hasn't changed since the last uncounted times I've sent it. They will either fix it or they won't <shrug>...until then I will play something else.

I'll try again tomorrow.
