One becomes more philosophical, and the knee-jerk emotional reactions lessen. The instinctive excitement and emotions however remain the same; every time I play and enter a dungeon, I find myself just as amazed and excited.
Overall, one tends to become more grateful - for having such a great choice in an MMO like ESO today.
