Bank Account Being Charged?

  • TtT

30 hours ago I was charged a full 14.99 - other companies charge .99 to determine if your account is active - I don't have the use of my money - I really don't want corporate America accessing my account with rollover billing. We're told that time cards are available from select retailers (but not which ones) why can't I purchase game time directly from ESO? I can do that with WoW. If this is not resolved by today's close of business I will cancel my account and get a refund. So far this constitutes a breach of contract.
What payment method did you use for WoW?

Good morning, people! Glad to see that a few more people are getting things sorted out. (Lucky cusses, LOL.) ;)

I am oh so (NOT) happy to have paid $80 only to spend yet another day locked out of the game. And yet another day waiting for a phone call. (Hmm, really says something that there isn't an angry emoji face included in the posting options, dontcha think?)
04/10/14 - Bought digital Imp Edition directly on 3/5/14. Hadn't been able to play since launch.
Finally got a callback email after 62+ hrs. Asked for a refund. Got a 1-day code instead. -_- Heh.
Pending decision: one more chance or go stuff yourselves.

I don't think the bans are all that random, people are exploiting and get banned..
Most of the time they don't even know that they're using exploits. There isn't a warning message saying that something isn't normal and not within the rules of the game.

I agree the system is somewhat flawed. I'm quite certain it will be improved and our feedback will contribute to.
But it exists for some good, legitimate reasons to protect us from harassment, from gold sellers etc.

This task cannot be handled manually. They need automatic systems to perform it, and it cannot be perfect. It catchs innocent player and cause them trouble. Yes.
But without those systems, there would be much more player complaints.
it's a delicate thing to equilibrate and yes it needs improvement.
The game isn't a week old yet !
    Give them some time.

Can you get back to us on that when you get unjustly banned? I wonder if you will have so much faith in the company then. Especially that once they ban you it's next to impossible to reverse that. Not even sure if they keep the record of why you got banned, because when addressed, they could not tell my friend why he was. We all assume it was mistake due to him helping a guildie with a horse purchase, as otherwise the entire guild would have to be banned as they all played together.

The game isn't out for a week. Maybe not, but they started off by making mistake upon a mistake that would have been avoided if they at least researched other mmos. Instead they give in to their insecurities and are slowly killing their own profits.

After my last mail to them where i asked for specific answers to specific questions about where the hell are my money withdrawn from my account, and specifying that they can take their damn game back and gimmie back my ammount of money spent, they kinda reactly fast (less then 1 hour), replying this:

    A guy Bryan tells me:

    Greetings Traveler of Tamriel,

Thank you for contacting Elder Scrolls Online support team. The charges we are seeing on your account at this time seem to have not been processed correctly. These kinds of errors are often called "Ghost Charges" and are pending charges that are being withheld by your financial institution. We ask that you please wait 3-10 business days for the funds to be released back into your account. If after the allotted time the funds are still not showing on your account, please contact us back so that we can look further into the concern.
In the meantime, if you would like to purchase the game, we would suggest that one of the two following steps are tried before purchasing the game again:
    1. Disable all add-ons on the Internet browser that you are using to purchase the game. Also, it is suggested that anti-virus software and ad-blocker software is disabled during the time making the purchase.
    2. Download a new Internet browser (Mozilla Firefox or Google Chrome) and choose not to import anything to the browser during the installation process. (For players who are choosing this step and downloading a new browser, check the add-ons in the new browser and disable all of them, once the new browser is installed.)
If the purchase does not go through on the first attempt after one of the steps provided, please contact us back for further instruction or contact your financial institution to find out if they have placed any kind of block on purchases, due to the prior failed purchases. Thank you for your continued interest and support!

    Warm Regards,
    The Elder Scrolls Online Team

Errors, ghost charges...pfff...As i put up my subscription plan monday, i will still need to wait next week too just to see if my money are back or not...
You must love their systemwith all these ferifying and babling around!

IF your bank is blocking the money in question, from the authorization process, it's just your bank being your bank, and as your bank being lazy and not having implemented an authorization reversal
What a wonderful piece of crap.
My bank has all kinds of functions. And I did authorization process lots of times (iTunes Store, PSN, paypal, etc.) without any single issue.
This bs is ZOS fault. Period.

Dear ZOS, whenb are you going to give me back my money?

On one hand, it makes me happy to hear that reps are getting things fixed for people. ("Under an hour", "in just 40 minutes, etc. etc.)

On the other hand, it's Thursday. Haven't been able to play since Early Access ended and I'm still waiting. FML

Just adding my name to the pool of people that have had their money tied up since Saturday.... That is too long for a pre-auth charge.

Honestly the last time I had a company hold my money from me for a week or more I stopped purchasing from them, that was Newegg. Though, that was 600 for two weeks, so I'm being a little more lenient here, but this is still stupid.

Actually it took 2 mails, 2 days + about 1 hour so you see, is not quite quick and prompt response.

All they do is place the hold and cancel it immediately, how long it takes to release the hold depends on the bank you use.

You are quite right, of course. My comment was not meant to be a blanket response. Just an acknowledge meant to recognize that some individuals are seeing a decent turnaround time. Silver linings, y'know.

I am also concerned. I have no problem paying for the first month. The payment came off my prepaid right away and I am enjoying the free month but the ESO account page says I will be billed as of May 7. If this occurs I would question why I was charged as of April 7? Stay tuned for updates

Haha you are not happy? I paid $99 which came to $114.44 and I am still waiting to hear from these people. I am finding this customer service really a sad case with this mess. I was planning on doing a 6 months payment but this "shady" style of way of doing business has me thinking that I will probably play for the free month and just look for another game to support. I don't support crooks and they are making themselves look really crooked right now.

Can't argue with that. Giving companies money when they do shady crap (looking at you, EA) only encourages them to keep doing shady crap, because HEY PROFITS. :|

Kind of sad, as I planned on using those play time cards, which also are 60-days cards where I can get them (25-30€), that I need to buy one of them tomorrow so I can play the game which promised me a free month.

Really shady, too be honest. Needing to pay more money just to play my *** game.

Zenimax Germany got an "Warning" from an Cosumtion-Organisation in Germany. This Organisation watched the rights of cosuments in highest state.

I know that many of you can`t read or speak german. But i even will share the link with you, to let all of you know: Surfers got rights.

    http://www.surfer-haben-rechte.de/cps/rde/xchg/digitalrechte/hs.xsl/75_3092.htm

What this will change in the future to us? Don`t sure. In Germany, Zenimax has to change the discription of their 30 days free trial. But I dont expect that Zenimax will give us the 30 days without signing an payment.

Stay tuned and search for options in your country! Never give up and fight for your rights,... tooo paaaaarty! B)

I really need some help. So please HELP!!! I log in to the account and when I get to the subscription part I see in the "your Order" area that I have the Digital Standard Edition when I really have the Physical Imperial edition NOT the Digital is it suppose to say that? I contacted Zos by email last response was on April 9th at 12:47 am. I responded to them and did not get a response back. Tomorrow will be ONE week since I bought the game and still the problem is not solved. I might be getting a time card later today if they are in stock. If so that will cover the subscription part hopefully. Then all I need to know is about the "your order" part. I'm sorry if I sound mad in this post I am a little. I just want to get this problem solve once and for all. I never used any credit card or any other type of paying method. So if Zos you see this Please help me!! or anyone else. Thank you.

Great! Thumbs up to Germany and this Organization and their swiftness. Unfortunately it's impossible to seek such help in my country, our legislation is old and I can only fill a complaint if the website domain is from my country.
At this point, I really do hope they change the description. Since all posts and tickets seem to be totally ignored

I first entered the game registration code and I'm getting the digital thing.when I entered the imperial edition exclusive code I get some message saying I need the elder scrolls online. when I contacted zos they said they did stuff on their end so that's why I'm re trying the first one but says digital.

The coolest is their silence. They are pretty much aware of this thread but, given what we said is absolutely true, they do not deny it. They keep silent.

They still didn't get that a subscription based game needs a strong relationship and trust built with the customers.

They still didn't get it they should come out and say yes you perfectly understood our marketing strategy. And given what happened we understood it was not the correct way to start a long lasting relationship...

They still didn't get they should come out and be sincere. Saying you were wrong is the best thing you ZeniMax could do.

Well when ZeniMax still run this way, the German office of fair Trading, Verbraucherzentrale, will have a easy way to shut them out of Europe as whole. And maybe they have to refund all European gamer's. That only the future and court will tell. Also every Country in Europe part of the European Union has similiar Office's of Fair Trading, and we also have the European Court and some European Customer Agency's so in the End, ZeniMax its best now to bow down, apologize, and payback.
