How does the GeForce lan mission work?

Maintenance for the week of February 3:

    It worked after I set fullscreen mode (not windowed) and played for hour without a single alt-tab.

    I play fullscreen not windowed by default so that may be another wrinkle for people to try.

    As I wrote in another thread, I played ESO by way of the nVidia app with a qualifying graphics card for several hours this week. Last major play time was yesterday, so within the 4 - 11 January timeframe. At no point did I get a code to redeem.

    I have now spent longer chasing the reward than the 50 minutes of game time required on my qualifying nvidia card launched through the nvidia app via Steam, in a qualifying country (USA). ESO customer support sends me to nvidia customer support, which sends me to eso customer support. I feel like I am trapped in the Ouroboros logo (which I guess is appropriate?) I am now on my third attempt to claim this offer.

    Anyway, please help?

    I had played ESO on Friday, 2025-01-10 for over an hour but did not receive a code. Because of that I have already written a ticket (250110-003346) but your colleagues asked me to contact NVIDIA-Support first.


    This is what I wrote to NVIDIA (14. Jan. 2025, 19:33 OEZ):

    Dear Sir or Madam,
    in order to obtain the Pineblossom Vale Elk Mount (GeForce LAN 50) I had played on Friday, 2025-01-10 from 07.30 p.m. - 08.45 p.m. (time zone Germany).
    I used the NVIDIA-App to launch ESO (Steam-version) and played in fullscreen-mode the entire time while the NVIDIA-App window was still open in the background but even after a few days no notification for the code to unlock the mount had appeared in the app. Closing and restarting the app / restarting my computer has had no effect either. I had opted into rewards in my NVIDIA-account.
    I have already contacted ESO support but was referred to you as I am using the Steam version of ESO. Should you need further information please feel free to contact me. I hope that you can help me in this matter.

    After speaking with a few friends about this, here's what we suspect happened with this promo:

    NOW "mission": From the 4th-6th, the weekend that Nvidia was hosting their LAN parties, they allowed people to get this promo by streaming with GeForce NOW on any device. I have seen an email sent to a friend explicitly saying NOW would work for this promo (with the Elk listed as the reward) "on any device." It worked for her because she streamed NOW before the 6th. The email specified that "today" (the 6th) was the "last day" to earn it that way. These rewards were sent out the 9th, which also suggests this promo ended the 6th. Otherwise they would have waited until after the 11th.

    LAN "mission": From the 4th-11th, this reward could also be earned by using the Nvidia app (which requires an Nvidia card even to install, so there's no way you can have that app on your computer if you don't have an Nvidia card). I can confirm that using the app with the native launcher on my laptop worked for me on the 8th, but NOW on my desktop with an AMD card did not on that same day.

    It sounds like Nvidia effectively ran two different promotions with the same reward that then got conflated by both Nvidia and ZOS, as both Nvidia and ZOS Support repeatedly insisted we needed Nvidia hardware, but GeForce NOW doesn't require that hardware. Nvidia also put the LAN mission info on their GeForce NOW rewards page, even though those were effectively two alternative and exclusive routes to acquire the same reward, with different end dates for each promo as well as different requirements for acquisition.

    Thank you for clarifying that this reward will be available in other ways in the future and for honoring the advertisement that NOW would work through the 11th. Support was able to get me the elk when I showed the NOW stream time from the 8th.

    Guys, I could cry :'( .
    I received an email from NVIDIA for both of my accounts on January 9th, 2025, saying that my GeForce Now rewards for the GeForce LAN 50 event were there.
    However, I couldn't see anything when I clicked on "Redeem now".
    I then opened a ticket for both accounts with Elder Scrolls Online Support.
    After several standard answers from "Alexis" and "Julian" (I think they are bots, sorry if not), I was suddenly able to get the codes via the NVIDIA app on January 20th, 2025. I have no idea whether Elder Scrolls Online Support had anything to do with it or whether it really took that long.
    In all the excitement and joy that it had finally worked, I logged into the ESO account on both of my PCs and copied the code into "Redeem code".
    Unfortunately, I had logged into both PCs logged in with the same account.
    Now I have "unlocked" the Pineblossom Vale Elk mount twice in a row on the same account and wasted a code in the process.
    I have opened another ticket for each account:
    250120-001255
    250120-001242
    Support (Alexis again) writes that it is not possible to transfer game codes from one account to another.
    Desperation :'( FOMO - I'm so stupid... :'(
    Note for everyone:
    Be careful, be sure to note this!

    You can "redeem" several different codes on the same account for the same thing.
    There is no check/error message on the website that you have already unlocked something.

    Tried this over three days, played for hours each day, no code ever received. I have steam version of ESO

    I played the game ESO all of January and fulfilled my aspirations every day. But the code for the beautiful mount in the Nvidia app didn't arrive. Nvidia Support says that the number of codes was limited and you had to be lucky to get them. They didn't realize that the technical conditions weren't there. I find it very sad that the technology keeps failing and the customer is the one who gets the short end of the stick. Isn't the mount still available for purchase with event tickets?
