I wanted more furniture slots like most other people, this "House Tours" would not be so bad if extra slots was also an included feature of U43, even something like 100 more for notables, 50 for classic and 25 more for staple homes would go a long way.

ZOS has to stop playing fair with console players, if they cannot handle more slots then tough, why is this stopping PC players from getting more slots.

    Stop blaming consoles.
    Newer ones can cope.
You think this game would survive if pc only? After being bought by MS/xbox?!
What about people running older pcs?
They could make inside & outside of houses 2 different instances, & increase slots that way.

It isn't a bad feature, but it certainly isn't worth being hyped like this. Of all the great requests like furnishing limit increase, weather control, a furniture storage bag, etc this is what they went with for our big housing update? It feels rather disappointing.

They could at *least* added a search feature. I have so many plans now it's easy for me to miss what I'm looking for.

I don't want to look at houses I want to decorate houses.

This too!!! I forgot about that. A combined craft table that you can sort by style, type, and search through is all I really need. Housing is incredibly frustrating otherwise. Bonus points also for a catalogue so we can go to NPC vendors to buy furnishings they have.

When I think of the two year long thread that @ZOS_CullenLee had up on the housing forum, in which we made pages after pages of suggestions, and which then was simply erased, without ever getting feedback from @ZOS_CullenLee... So many good suggestions! So many good ideas of how you could improve housing and circumvent the ailing console problem...

(Say, @ZOS, do you still code on punch cards? Because, you know, your absolute adherence to "we must cater to ancient consoles and thus ignore all other players..."?)

And what's the answer: here you go, good paying customer, we have a little goodie for you. From now on you can have housing tours.

And the rest? Lalalalalala... we can't *hear* you!

Being able to tour other people's houses through some kind of finder is not a major housing feature. Especially not when there are so many other big features and QOL improvements we don't have yet. And especially especially not when its supposed to be the main feature of the update dedicated to housing.

A true QOL update would be a furnishing catalogue with multiple tabs- Achievement Furnishings, General Furnishing, Event Furnisher, and Antiquities Furnishings. The catalogue could be searchable, and carry the entire inventory of furnishings from these vendors game-wide. It could be added to our collections menu, and able to be put down in a house whenever we want to buy items from these vendors. Gold prices would be the same, we'd just have access to eveything more conveniently.

(This is something a game called Stardew Valley has, and it is -amazing- when you want to just decorate your heart out)

We also really need and all-in-one, searchable furnishing crafting table like you said. It would be great if we can add to the collections menu so that we don't have to lug a bunch of crafting tables with us to a construction site (or run to a crafting hub)

    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause

Not my thing, inviting even the people I know to my houses. CERTAINLY NOT opening them up to randos. And the rating "feature" is just going to be griefing in a different direction.

I think the overall sentiment here is that if hardware (PCs, Consoles) built 10+ years ago is the main reason for the furnishing limits, it's time to raise the hardware requirements. It's not an anti-console sentiment. I'm glad another awesome Cardinal05 EHT feature is finding its way into the base game for console players to finally be able to enjoy.

P.S. Hey ZOS, can I suggest the next addon feature to import? ATT/Master Merchant/ITT/etc addons. You set up a unique world of hundreds of small businesses and then gave us zero tools to track any aspect of them (*especially* on console where addons can't fill the need).

I was really looking forward to the "big housing update".

Even if more slots or a furnishing bag wouldn't be possible, there still were so many great suggestions from the community. Display possibilities (like weapon racks or manneqins), more slots opened for special furnishings (pets, mounts, house guests), new and better sorting of the furnishing menu and/or furnishing crafting stations and so on and so forth...

And they didn't just say "housing update", no, they said "big" and "amazing" and whatnot housing update, so I even dared to hope (a little) that it would be a few slots or a bag after all...

What we got is, in my eyes, a very nice feature, but in no way, shape or form an actual addition to housing. Because it adds absolutely nothing to the things I can do with housing. If they had advertised it as a great new group finder/social interaction feature, I would have been happy, but waiting for a housing thing this is a letdown.

The other things they presented reach from miniscule QoL updates to absolutely superfluous stuff (everything pertaining to the IA) for me.

I'm looking forward to the Companion house, but that's just my nostalgia for the old base game story (back when Daedra were still the enemy they should be, not some cuddly pseudo-allies), and my character's friendship with Varen and Tharn.

    Here is a compromise

The total furniture limit for a notable home with ESO+ is 830
    • 700 traditional furniture slots
    • 110 Collectable furniture slots
    • 10 Special furniture slots
    • 10 Special collectable slots

Not including the very FX intenstive items which should probbaly stay at a low number, what if they just made it so all other furniture items including Houseguests and trophies were just traditional furniture, it would not be much but it would be an improvement over what we have, you could stick up to 820 traditional furniture in a home (not counting 10 for special collectables with intense FX effects)

Okay, jokes aside. So what really is that long time hyped feature of the new update?

You can put up your houses to be toured by everyone. Like public links to homes.

I kind of wish it could be more limited. Limit it to have links for guild members only, but it’s literally open to everyone only (I think).

Yes, now randoms will be more able to port around and troll unlimited people by turning everything off or on, filling the house with squatters so nobody (including the owner) can get in, etcetera. No more need to be a friend or a guildie to have access, when anybody can just select the most popular builds from a list and go create havoc as they wish.

Yes, I am happy with this feature. As this was the most requested and most possible feature for housing, to be able to visit other player's homes and put our own homes up for viewing.

PS: For those wanting a higher furniture limit or a furniture bag, you already knew this wasn't coming. Due to the limitations ZOS is running into/has to work with. Yes, I want these too. And I'm sure in time we will get these things. But be realistic.

I wonder if ZOS even considered that, what if a really popular house had a guild visit and the owner could not even enter their own home because the population was at the cap.

Isn't there going to be a way to not have to allow randos into one's houses? If not.... I'm not sure what I will do.

To quote that car insurance commercial, that's not how any of this works.

As always, YOU choose whether your home is:
    - Locked
    - Open to friends
    - Open to guildies
    - Open to all

    With the new feature:
YOU choose whether or not to list each home you own in the Housing Tour
YOU choose whether visitors have either:
    Visitor Access: Can use interactables
Limited Visitor Access: Cannot use interactables.

Bottom line is, literally nothing changes for those who do not want to list their houses in this system.

Yeah, I knew it wouldn't be a cap increase. But there was a mile long thread on the Housing forum with tons of other ideas. Totally do-able ideas, and this is what we got.

And as for getting those features "in time." How much more time? Seven years wasn't enough?

I'm not big on housing personally since I barely engage with it unless it brings me some QoL to actual gameplay so I have no opinion there. But like give me limited house gardening to supplement my alchemy needs and that would be a pretty awesome addition, that was a feature back in TES 5 my dudes. Or you know, fishing holes or something to do in there.

As for the non-housing QoL features like mount previews, and PvP and Undaunted curated drops, these are great updates but seem too little and too late. These kinds of changes really should have been implemented years ago along with the addition of the Stickerbook collection. Mount previews should have happened even earlier, like 7-8 years ago when mounts animations started to get more flashy.

Infinite Archive additions are ok. I still don't see it as more than filler content though. The lack of Scribing additions is not helping IA or the new chapter feature, but at least you got another slim chance at Ink from heavy sacks and treasure chests, in theory... Let us see just what those drops rates are on Monday.
