Only reason for me to go past Arc 2 currently for me is when I do not have enough time for restart a new Arc 1 to 2 run. Otherwise solo past Arc 2 is kind of a snoozefest if you didn't luck out on all the good visions.

Yeah that's kinda me too. I wouldn't call it a snoozefest... It's pretty tough for me at least, and solo I've only beaten 3 arcs. But that really is pretty much where I call a run anyway, for time reasons, so it kinda works out in a way. I'm still grinding the gear... Gonna have another toon tonight, my DK probably, I'm excited lol. I like the EA. But I too just hit two arcs and dip. If I have good visions I do one more. I'm thinking about trying duo though I just kinda wanna see some higher arcs but solo might be too slow for me.

    Arc 3
Finally made it to arc 5 duo. Was mostly carried from arc 3/4. And we lucked out with verses with me getting iron atro for one Tho'at fight (2nd or 3rd I forget which) and my duo buddy getting the same for arc 4 Tho'at. We still had threads left but ran out of time.

With a companion my best is still arc 3, cycle 5, first set of mobs.

Totally solo I haven’t tried again since the first two weeks after launch.

I think I am at 6:3:2 on my sorc Solo at the moment. (Was leading on the sorc leaderboard for the week on XBOX NA until someone posted an ARC 9 run - which is insane).

Worked a few PVP builds on different classes through to ARC 4 before the build disconnects from PVP setup to PVE became a problem, and pushed a warden into arc 5.

Ultimately, I am going to attempt to be top 10 across the all time boards for each class if possible. #5 right now for sorcs.

I'd love to hear about that sorc build. I'm mediocre at best and would really like to improve.

I ended up getting burnt out and exited before I ran out of lives.

I generally roll through Arcs 1-3 so that I can snag 5 sticker book drops, and then just leave because it just becomes more and more of a grind the deeper you get. Once I've collected all of the fragments for the mount, pet, and body markings I'll probably only enter EA to check out the weekly vendor.

i've solo'd to Arc 5+ many times but it just isn't worth the time investment anymore. It can be fun to do though if you land some great visions and have hours to spare.

Most of the time I quit during Arc 2 or 3 if I don't have the visions I want. Not worth the slog fest otherwise.

This is pretty much 90%+ of my runs. Rolled through the first 3 Arcs just now and didn't get a single Focused Efforts or any of the useful Avatar Visions. I'm beyond tired of getting just stamina/martial damage Visions when I'm on my Mag characters. It honestly is a complete waste of time when you get rubbish Visions all the time.

I’ve gotten *into* Arc 3 without finishing it with a partner, my husband. Solo, I am lucky if I complete Arc 1.

I’m getting better at it, though! It’s fun and I love a challenge and messing around with skills and builds.

I do wish we could save our progress. I don’t care about leaderboards, so a solution where disabling leaderboards for folks who save would work fine, I believe.

Kill the Tho'at first. Then chase the Atronach. If you are on a class that has a ranged interrupt, slot that for this fight. Helps a lot with keeping the blobs in check.

Definitely kill off melee-tho'at asap. After that the fight becomes rather easy: Kill/interrupt the blobs as usual and keep moving enough to avoid the tentacles. The atro itself is cheese tbh, especially on ranged builds.

You also have plenty of time bringing the atro down, so don't stress yourself. I always use this phase to regain resources and relax for a bit before triggering manticora in higher Arcs.

Overland difficulty scaling is desperately needed. 9 years. 6 paid expansions. 24 DLCs. 40 game changing updates including One Tamriel, an overhaul of the game including a permanent CP160 gear cap and ridiculous power creep thereafter. I'm sick and tired of hearing about Cadwell Silver & Gold as a "you think you do but you don't" - tier deflection to any criticism regarding the lack of overland difficulty in the game. I'm bored of dungeons, I'm bored of trials; make a personal difficulty slider for overland. It's not that hard.

I still haven't gotten past Arc 1, either, but I do enjoy the fights-- both the mobs and the bosses. Many of the bosses are totally unknown to me until now, so I'm having to work out their mechanics for the first time. However, I'm not going to try to grind for Archival Fortunes, drops, or keep struggling to beat a particular boss; as soon as I lose my first thread, I leave so I can go do something else for a while. But I keep going back, and I've been doing all of the daily and weekly endeavors related to the Infinite Archive.

I made it to 3-2-2 today with Bastian! I had never beat Tho’at 2 before.

I swear we just got the companion buff for the archive this week, because it was much easier this time and I didn’t get great verses. Patch notes indicated it was the last patch but I saw no difference.

I did not die until arc 3 today and then lost 2 threads at the same time when a marauder appeared. It was actually pretty easy through the whole first two arcs this time.

Call me old school but, like you, when I lose the first thread I leave, calling it a fail. Even if I don't die, I only stay until I do the first marauder for the weapon drop.

My method for the daily, when I bother, is to stay till I get a marauder, so long as it is before the 3rd boss in the second arc, or I leave anyways. The first tho'at is no longer a problem with my tank companion, but some of the stage 3 and 4 bosses still kill me even in arc 1 so I don't chance them in arc 2.

I have tried multiple builds from the ultra tanky (takes forever to kill anything) to custom builds I have found online. I use a hard hitting arcanists for the daily now (praying they don't nerf it too hard). My main problem isn't building tanky, but in the blocking when needed and other mechanics some bosses use. But thanks to the companion fix I have gotten to the point now that I have a 60% of getting a weapon from a marauder and a 80% of getting past arc 1. Most days I don't bother with it at all, if I don't have the hour+ to spare, but at least I might get a full sticker book someday.

Yeah sounds about right. I have one more lead for the clothier station and then I will only do it occasionally. I do want to have enough arc cash to buy leads if they have one I want...

I really wish I could take something from this poll, but since Solo/Companion and Co-op are mixed together, I can't really read too much into the results here. I guess it's still interesting to see a majority of players are getting to Arc 5+, regardless of Solo or Co-op. I wonder how many that are getting stuck on Arc 2-4 are only voting as solo? Perhaps we need another poll so that players can specify and we can get new data since players are getting comfortable with how to run and may want to revote?

I disagree. While it would be interesting to see how far players are going solo/with companion/duo in their respective polls (feel free to create them btw), this options are available to all players (well, except companions. Access to them is gated behind specific chapters.). So I don't think it's necessary.

If a player decides to run solo exclusively, that's their decision and says nothing about IA itself. We also don't ask how far are players going without using any gear above green quality and a maximum of for example 240 CP, do we?

That said, the poll is highly outdated as a lot of participants already reached higher Arcs and reported their success.

Overall it's safe to state, that the general playerbase doesn't have major issues with succeeding through lower Arcs after some struggles during the initial phase of learning and getting accustomed (which is expectable and unproblematic for more challenging content in general).

Probably you just got accustomed to those fights by practicing and therefore find them easier now.
