The queuing is UNACCEPTABLE

Now that it is resolved, I am playing again, but I don't think I will be spending anything on this game for a long long time. And I actually even love apocrypha in TES lore so I was just considering buying the new expansion, even though I had to quit the game before due to unreasonable changes. These turn of events made me remember why I cancelled my sub and took a long break. I have no trust in this game anymore.

I still cannot believe that so many people whined about a queue and were threatening to cancel membership/refund/never play again. I've played a lot games where I had to wait 30ish minutes to get in, you know what I did? Folded laundry, cleaning dishes, take out trash. If I still have a queue, I watch youtube videos

ZOS didn't need to address anything, because they just assumed everyone had enough intelligence to understand that between event, free eso+ and epic games that there would be quite a bit of bottleneck. They severely underestimated the entitlement and lack of maturity of their playerbase lol

    Really weird take.

Not only it is factually wrong, as it was actually a back-end system failure, even ZoS has apologised for taking too long to sort it out and communicate with the player base.

"Players" or "gamers" are actually paying customers. If this was any other walk of life, the demand for appropriate service wouldn't be in question.

Can you imagine booking and paying for a hotel room only to find the roof leaked. I'm not sure anyone would be OK with the hotel manager saying "hey, can't fix it today - can't even talk to you about it - please go watch YouTube videos or fold your laundry". No, me neither.

I guess it's my fault for not bothering to research that, I just remember during the 2nd or so day of zeal event there were like 30 threads about the queues. I only pop in on the forums every week or so, give or take a day. So I didn't ever know about the whole backend failure thing lol

Having said that though..I still don't think it's fair to compare a $150 per night hotel room to a cumulative total of..maybe 1 dollar lost? Considering a whole month costs only 15 lol

Elderscrolls is a online game and its not real life.

But still there are lots of other online games that have faced similar problems.
World of warcraft for example will sometimes get a log in queue when ever they got a big event -- it happened when a new expansion got released and when wow classic first got released.

Log in queues means there is a very high amount of players logging in to the game around the same time frame and the servers got overwhelmed. To prevent servers from crashing, the game decides to place everyone in a log in queue.

The time displayed is an estimate of when a player can log in to the game. Sometimes a player can get logged in to the game faster then what the queue time display actually said.

When waiting in queue for online games here are some tips and stuff to do: be patient, do some hobbies, watch a movie or TV show, go outside, post on the forums or social media, and so much more.

    Also not everything comes instantly.

Zenimax employees are very busy people at their jobs. Sometimes their response are delayed but that doesn't mean that they are not aware of the problem. They will get to it as soon as possible.
