Swapping alliances is a bad idea. It breaks down the momentum of good fights.

Can you elaborate on that? Nobody swapping alliance mid-fight, are they?

I think you have to distinguish between different types of alliance swappers:
    • The ones who swap to the alliance with the bigger population in order to zerg with them ("I'm just doing the reward level!!1")
    • The ones who swap to the alliance with the smaller population in order to find more enemies/fight against guild groups/balance the map
    • The ones who swap in order to play with friends

You can dislike all of them if you want to, I would just like to understand why.

Swapping alliance is comparable with cheating on your friends. It leads to loose bonds. Unity, Loyalty and hard work should be rewarded for common goals. Backstabbing is then not fitting. The reasons you mention are then not valid and interpreted as treason.

Sit out the campaign length and think at the beginning with whom you want to play and don't hop around as that is creating aversion. Also think about reputation and identity.

If this campaign is an experiment then it not just one in the sense of logic.

See you online soon this is an invitation.

My goodness, what to do with this...
Alright, I understand that this is your very own way of thinking. So, I'd understand that if one of YOUR friends was swapping alliance, you'd be mad.
However, what I still don't understand is why you are mad at ALL the alliance swappers, people you don't even know.
Look, MY friends don't have a problem with alliance swapping, they don't see it as cheating, so your argument does not work for me.
And just a thought for you:
If alliance swapping really had the effect you're describing (loose bonds, aversion...) wouldn't DC players swapping to AD be to your advantage? DC and AD bonds becoming weaker and weaker...only the pact still standing in strong unity? ;)

But for real, when I play a board game against my friends, are they becoming my enemies? I don't think so.

You talk about big things like "unity", "loyalty" and "hard work", as if Cyrodiil was the real world. It is a game.
We are all humans, sitting in front of our computers, looking for some fun. And that's all.

But playing EP is not hard work. You besiege keeps with three times as many players as the defenders have.
Fighting against a superior force - as we do - is hard work and we are rewarded by becoming better players.
That's why we wipe you out on our keeps, on your keeps, and on empty AD keeps that you attack after losing to us. I guess we just have different perceptions of "hard work".
We at Ultimate Delivery Incorporation are lucky enough to know a red faction player who sees the game as such. He occasionally runs with us when his home guild is not active in Cyrodiil on the given day.
After he joined us for the first evening, he was kicked from the Kingsman Discord, as well as from the red guild in which the guild leaders organize the various groups.
Since we both have different points of view, I would like to clarify a few things.
    DC has almost no guilds.
DDK is only rarely active and occasionally runs on AD, RDK as well.
Apart from the Ultimate Delivery Incorporation, I don't know of any group that is regularly active as such in Cyrodiil. We don't have a construct like the cross-guild Discord you have. Neither do we have full-blooded faction loyalists. We don't fight for the Daggerfall Alliance with heart and soul, but for fun and joy against other players. If this is not possible due to an unevenly distributed number of players per faction, we simply switch to another one.

So @Tigor , in your mind you think that anyone who swaps to DC automatically becomes a cheater?
You just swap and some 3rd party cheat program automatically gets downloaded to ur PC?

You cant just say ''but dc is cheating'' after multipe pepole here gave you legit reasons why Alliance swap is not a big deal (and someone already pointed out that it shouldnt matter aslong its not ur own close friends)

Or it is a case of players trying to cope with a lack of skill. I recognize one of the players and he called me a 'macro user' after I killed him with the simplest of Stamplar combos. This week alone he has done the same to half a dozen of my (casual) guild mates. He is just a low-skilled player with anger issues.

Even if you suspect foul play, just record the game footage and make a report. Whispering this kind of thing is pathetic and there is no excusing it.

Nothing to add here. Rise of the ignore option unless rage whispers are entertaining.

As a DC cheater I have to admit I use the infamous PvP- addons "Votan´s Darker Nights", and "Immersive Horse Camera". I refrain from using TTC, though, as it is a known lagswitch that only targets specific Pact players.

Those you need to build more sets for improvement of your builds. Tier 1 rewards for multiple characters. In this case pvp is also rewarding pve. Very clever system that keeps the campaign alive.

It feels like they've outright removed the population cap, or increased it by so much that the current PVP population would not be able to fill it.

Yesterday evening was super crowded but all factions were at 1-2 bars.

It was still playable though, unlike Gray Host from what I've heard.

The bars are not reliable for a long time. In the evening a lot of players. Large battles with AD as in the old days. Lag not noticable. Double AP feels like a present from ZOS.

From my perspective, yesterday wasn't much fun for DC, at least not during prime time.
DC was vastly inferior in numbers compared to AD, at times even with an additional bonus for low population. AD is normally such a tough and experienced opponent, but yesterday we were often overrun by big zergs without much chance of fighting back.
Nevertheless, DC held up well, perhaps additionally motivated by the extra bonus.
This reflects my personal impressions during my playing time, I don't know what happened later in the evening.
