The trade guild I'm in is doing great and the crafting mats I sell have stayed basically the same prices for quite awhile now. If a trade guild isn't doing well it could be due to their location or other reasons because I continue to see the same guilds in the same locations and these aren't dropping like flies.

    Oh what guild?

edit: also, are you having any issues with block today?

It's not my guild so I don't feel I have the right to name them, but this guild and the one I was in previously (that I left after new leadership was lacking) are both doing great with sales. But I'd like to know which guilds fell apart because I still see a lot of familiar trade guilds in spots they have been occupying for a very long time.

And it seems that block was fixed.

Oh, I see.well maybe you could reach out to the guild leader and ask him if theyre recruiting? Esofam? :)

The big one that died? Project Vitality.

    https://www.reddit.com/r/elderscrollsonline/comments/wnrjct/update_from_nefas_on_project_vitality_in_update_35/

226 raid leads down to 60 at the time of this video.1600 raids down to 60-120 per month. etc etc.

    That's the brutal truth.

As for trading guilds, sales are down in some big trading guilds which is unusual after a patch. When I say "big" I mean billion+ per week. I won't say anything more as I don't want to out my guild or other big players bc anyone who's into serious trading, knows that bidding wars are cutthroat. I swear by the Nine that kiosk bidding is the unofficial ESO PvP.

Yes, when I see “trading guild,” I assume they mean 1b+ sales per week.

There are tons of guilds who happen to have a trader, but trading guilds are on a different level.
    RIP Bosmer Nation. 4/4/14 - 2/25/19.

I don't doubt that some trial guilds were affected by U35, but I was replying specifically to the claim that trade guild sales are down.

So,.. you see these numbers and accept them? The loss of these endgame players also translates to less mats and gear flowing into traders. and also Im guessing you would now concede there has been a large decline in player base?

@CrashTest's post #389 up above yours does detail his trade guild experience which ties right into the loss of all those raiders.

Did you happen to get a chance to ask your gm if theyre recruiting,.. any trade guild that has been unaffected by whats going on should be in high demand so Id understand if no more slots were available but I have about 5 years of hoarded items I want to offload.

    Thanks!

The trade guild I'm in is always full or close to it. If you are looking for a good trade guild there are several listed in the guild finder.

I really don't see what this other post you pointed out is supposed to show. The poster claims sales are down but my experience is the opposite.

I keep hearing those are the only 2 sytems that basically work as intended right now so if you can stomach the tots go for it,.. I might just go hole up in my psijic villa and reminisce about the golden days of Summerset.

Its like ESO has become a mashup of Legends and Sims....

It's no wonder so many high quality content creators are abandoning ESO or dabbling in other games to find a better fit for them in the future. I think this is one of the main reasons the end game player base is shrinking so rapidly. It takes a lot of work to create those how-to's and builds and all the rest. Who's going to do it when all these content creators move on to other games where their efforts are appreciated? How's their departure from ESO going to effect the long term health of the game?

Yes, it was pretty shocking to see in Nefas' video how far ESO twitch viewership and content creation has fallen when compared to other MMOs.

Even if you think Steam Charts data isn't representative of the greater ESO player base, you can't deny the the plummeting interest in things ESO related on YouTube and Twitch. Content creators who depend on viewership revenue are clearly diversifying away from dying content to stay relevant. Nefas has been rather good at predicting ESO trends, and his latest statements are quite eye opening, and should be noted by the people who matter.

ESO has always had among the smallest Twitch viewerships of all MMOs, past or present. It's never commanded a large following.

Be careful when comparing games. ESO and FFXIV may be MMO games, but that does not mean they appeal to the same audience demographics.

ESO may appeal to a demographic that does not value video content as much as the people who play FFXIV.

    But it used to.

    So what happened?

No, it didn't. ESO has never had a large amount of content creators or streaming viewers.

No idea but wonder if one of the reasons for the lower twitch streams is the fact that you can’t stream and play at the same time on console using the same screen. Maybe ESO has a larger base on consoles then they are given credit for vs. PC players.

Play on PS NA and honestly, I can’t keep my 2 trading guilds full.

    Stay safe :)

One of the worst decisions ZoS made was to remove the mandatory sub. [snip] It's effectively killed the drive - what's the point in playing if all you have to look forward to is the next set of Crates or the monthly showcase? Block bugs notwithstanding, what content are you going to do when your groups disband and go play something that's actually fun?

Remember when Dragon Bones came out and a personality and skin were the reward for completing Challenger? Yeah, no, no more Challenger rewards for you. You want a cool skin, get 400 Crown Gems. Empty your wallet. The increasing reliance on the Store is in part responsible for the quality downgrade.

U35 is just the icing on the cake that is mismanagement. There have been problems laced into the game years before and it's only exacerbated with the lack of commitment to the game's integrity. With MMOs like WoW and OSRS (Hell, RuneScape 3 is a casino MTX pachinko deluxe game and it has more players than ESO) exceeding player expectations it's obvious that if ESO doesn't pick up the slack, it's going to go into SWTOR limbo where it's only fueled by the biggest Crown buyers, and that's not even considering non-MMO anticipated releases in 2023.

Even if the next Chapter is another Morrowind zone, that's not enough to save ZoS. [snip]

She's not responsible for keeping the game alive so you can play it. I'm sure most players are like her (I know I am) and wouldn't keep playing a game that's no longer fun for them. I wouldn't expect those who enjoy trials and vet content and PvP to keep playing, when it's no longer fun for them, because I'm enjoying overland.

(It's not only solo players who would leave if the game is no longer fun. There have been a lot of discussions -- including in this thread -- about endgame players, those who enjoy vet content and trials, who have left. That's fine. They don't owe me, a player who doesn't participate in those activities, a thing.)

Lol. But we do. And have been, playing this game even when it was not enjoyable. Heck, Cyrodiil and IC should be empty right now, but it isn't. Like I said, I've been playing this game since pre-One Tamriel, do you think it's fun constantly updating your character for almost 8 years now? Do you think it's fun re-learning the game every patch? Reason why most end game players are leaving is because they've had enough of dumbing down of this game [snip]

The development of next year's chapter is likely already done so I guess you probably need to aim for 2024. And I'm sorry to be the lone voice here, but I had no bugs at all this year. I know that pvp and endgame players did, but I haven't any interest in those modes - so it's not something I'm going to get my knickers in a twist over, since there's already plenty of that going on around here.

I hope you all find what you're looking for in this game, but if you're expecting major changes next year you may be whistling in the wind.

I'm just curious, [snip] what if the chapter next year added more content for PvP or if they made it that you can't solo kill a single overland monster? what if they made it that you NEED to group to actually accomplish anything in the next patch or chapter? [snip]

I've been one who's said various times that they need to give something for those who pvp. I've also said that an option for vet overland is fine with me. And I've never said anyone should shut up and stop complaining. However, since I don't have the issues others do, I think it's perfectly fair that I get to say so.

But yes, if they did things to make the game so I found it too hard to solo any more, and forced grouping (I don't do group content for a variety of reasons) I would quit the game, and no, I would not be here whining about it, just as I quit WoW and RIFT years back now (a decade ago for WoW) and have never been back to their forums.

When the developers of a game take that game in a direction I don't find fun, I leave and don't go back.

    [edited to remove quote]

[snip] You're treating this game like a single player game, when you are fully aware that this is an MMORPG. Lol. I mean, why keep buying an MMORPG when you don't want to group? Are you torturing yourself?

I'd like to remind everyone of this 2019 interview:
    Rob is Rob Garrett

Slowing Down Content Releases and the Great Fix Patch:
"I spoke with Rob about the fast release of updates and if ZOS had considered doing a “Great Fix Patch” for one of their updates. He said it’s a question they get a lot and whilst it’s not off the table they as a company do need to produce for everyone and a majority of the bugs and issues faced are not ones everyone encounters or are drastically halting gameplay, as such they need to continue creating content for people who want new content to play and and don’t play at the higher level to notice if a skill or mechanic works a little wonky."

Not saying it was ever huge, but it was far larger than it is now. There would typically be 4-6 streamers sitting in the 250-350 CCV range most evenings and a large number in the 50-150 range. And one or two others who would sit on the 600-800 range (Deltia for example). Plus Fengrush with his army, but I almost don't want to include him because he was an outlier.

Trade guild sales ARE way down in the last few months. I'm in two major trade guilds, larger trade guilds than any in Grahtwood, and sales are WAY down in both.

This is not my opinion. I have spoken to both guild masters about this and they have both spoken to the entire guild about the issue on more than one occasion. Major trade guilds that have to pay for premium locations are scrambling to keep their guild profitable so they can hold prime vendor locations.

You can deny it all you like, it doesn't change reality.

    Agree 100% with the OP

Vet player since Beta. 2022 was the year I cancelled my sub and since Sept I have gone from playing almost every day to hardly playing at all.

The 450+ guild I was in has disbanded and my small pvp guild is still going but we are mainly playing other games

I did not buy High Isle either as I saw little in the content that was for me.

The OP describes well enough my reasons and I have said it many times on other threads.

The price of ESO does not represent good value to me anymore and I lay this squarely at the feet of the Devs and their poor communication.

I feel as if I am being pushed away from the game by the decisions of the developers, rather than the game itself. I'm also tired of trying to express what I do want from the game because it is always ignored.

    A real shame.

    Hi everyone,

While we can confirm we have fixed the original issue with block, we identified the cause of this new blocking issue that went live with yesterday’s incremental patch. This issue most commonly occurs when attempting to swap weapons while weapons are being drawn or sheathed, preventing you from blocking again until zoning or relogging.

We are working on a fix now and want to take some time to thoroughly test over the next couple days to ensure things are stable; unfortunately, the fix for this issue does require another new client build and is not something we are able to hotfix. It will also be present after the console incremental patch on Wednesday.

We understand how frustrating this is for everyone, including us. We’ll let you know as soon as possible when to expect the fix but expect it to be on or around December 19.

Block wont be fixed for another 2 weeks, its crazy - ESO is my main game, 80% of my characters playstyle involves blocking. I have 8 weeks off work during the holidays, 6 of the weeks block has/will be bugged - lucky for anyone who is a ToT/Housing main I guess.

I'm curious, has ToT or housing really had any game breaking bugs in the past?

ToT hasn't been around long enough to have had awful bugs I don't think.

Some houses have managed to physically block overland stuff that was physically close to them on the map. Idk about anything other than that.
