Balreth Bugged- Cannot Contain Spirit After killing Balreth

I tried the workaround, went into the instance.. killed balreth and left using a wayshrine. came back after 10-12 minutes and it had reset the instance, killed balreth again and it bugged out again. Unfortunately didn't work for me.

I too have killed him twice without being able to complete it.

I'm starting to think I just got lucky, the solo kill no spirit. The party kill spirit appeared and completed quest but no portal to leave.

I'm guessing you got really lucky jackrum, i grouped up twice with a bunch of randoms which were all stuck on the quest too and it didn't work.

EDIT: just teamed up for the 4th time, this time we were able to contain the spirit but just like you jackrum.. the portal vanished.

So . . I get to the end, the NPC says "Touch Balreth's Prison To Draw Him In" . . and there is no prison to touch. I'm a lvl 8 Orc Templar.

How do you leave via way shrine? There is no active one to use that I can see.

Waited 10 mins for reset, duo'd Balreth and imprisoned and right clicked to map to way shrine out first time go. This after 4 solo attempts.

I noticed the friendly NPC stopped attacking midfight and disappearing rather quickly after Balreth dies. Could this be the cause?

After a few attempts I ran out of the instance when the NPC stopped attacking.
When I zoned in he was fighting Balreth again. I then killed Balreth and it worked.

Then the next bug came up: The portal to exit didn't spawn, but I just ported to a nearby shrine..

Worked when I did it with a group after going back...looks like it is a solo issue maybe but now the portal is bugged

aether, when you killed him with a group and the portal doesnt appear, you can just wayshrine out and it'll tell you to go talk to walks in ash.

tap /stuck in the chat and you'll kill yourself.... this will normally let you respawn outside the mountain

Workaround doesn't work, he does respawn, but same result when I killed him.
Only used fire staff attack this time too, no skills.
He just dies, leaves a lootable corpse, some shiny blue thing flies off into the middle of the zone and disappears.

We went around the bug by resetting the quest. Then one player, ungrouped went into the portal. If balreth was there, he invited two more ppl. They join him in the portal, and then it worked. Seems to be important that it is 3 or more ppl in the group! GL

I'd much rather you guys fixed the game, since so many bugs reported during beta are still there, instead of relying on us to do this. Basically, we are now stuck and can't go on in the game.

Hi all, I have finished this quest. The key is NPC will stop attacking sometimes. If you kill balreth while NPC is stopped. It will definitely bugged out. I have leave the instance when NPC stops attacking. Grouping another player and went into portal again. We rushed the balreth using ultimate and NPC is still attacking. Then it works.

Didn't have one.
Any specific details about how you fought him, or anything that seemed odd during the fight?
Not really, was just chasing him around trying to do enough damage to kill him. I've tried 4 times now, didn't die at all first time, next three times I died at least twice each time. I tried way shrining out and going back, same result.

Used locket to stun him, killed adds, avoided aoe

Not really, was just chasing him around trying to do enough damage to kill him.

I tried both solo and in a group, and got stuck both times at the contain spirit phase. He dies, but nothing happens and there is nothing to interact with.

Yeah, the NPC stops attacking Balreth at some point (seems random so far), he's just walking around behind him. Reentering the instance causes him to start attacking again.

Well, I managed to somehow outbug the bug and exit instance when Balreth was healing himself, but when I reentered, he was still low on health, so I quickly killed him before the NPC bugged out again.

... and now the new exit portal failed to spawn. Have to use wayshrine to leave zone.

I defeated Balreth now and I succesfully captured his spirit, but now I can't get out Ash mountain, the portals have disappeared.

This is a lie. I contacted in-game help. 20 mins later I was told that they had spoken to a Tier 3 agent and that there was no work around and sorry for the inconvenience. Unless the agent I chatted with had no idea what they were talking about.
