Please change the safebox lead

ZOS, I'm not upset, I'm just disappointed.

If this is indeed the drop location chosen for the lead, you really learned nothing from Shadowfen. Nothing from the RotPO. Fighting other players in a PvE zone should be DISCOURAGED, not encouraged. You have created a situation where other players around you are a BAD thing in an MMO. Please try harder next time.

This is so true... The PVE community in ESO is by far the most friendly and helpful community out there. This grind turns us into angry, frustrated players and encourages us to be selfish.

This is way worse than shadowfen...
    Yes, because:
    - A: Shadowfen leads were mostly farmed by end-game PvE-ers, while Oakensoul leads are being farmed by um... everyone (PvE, PvP, Solo play).
    - B: There are lot of water plants in Shadowfen, but only around 20 save boxes in Murkmire.

So obviously it is way worse. If Shadowfen farming "wave" took like 1 - 2 months, the Murkmire "wave" will take a year or more. They need to change it to all containers, not just save boxes. It is also worth mentioning that Shadowfen lead only dropped from water plants & pure water sources. After loud community "feedback", ZOS changed that in a hot-fix to all plants.

    Also, just a note:
1st Shadowfen and now Murkmire... idk why it keeps happening to Argonian - themed zones, but it may have (in the long run) very negative impact on players opinion regarding Argonian lore & stuff like this... it is not their fault. ZOS just seems to mean towards them... It kinda seems like they really want players to have bad memories & a lot if hate towards Argonian zones... :disappointed:

    1. This mythic received negative feedback on the test server. They were told this was over the top. Already 1 bar builds doing insane damage.
    2. ZoS was also told about the lead behind the lock boxes, which is going to create problems but they do not listen to test server feedback.

This item caused more discussion than anything else yet here it is on live servers.

ESO and the most friendly and helpful community out there? I must be playing a different ESO for 8 years then. It is absolutely similar to the WoW community in terms of toxicity in PvE and even worse here depending on the topic.

The time it takes for ZOS to take action against players who behave in the worst way is anywhere from a week to never, unlike the forums. No idea why they don't let their forum mods not moderate the game too while they are at it. People will just go on with their toxic clownfest on a daily base and especially now after a new DLC release, the always present toxicity of a lot of players is more obivious because it can much easier be experienced by the masses as well at lead drop spots.

They want it to do high damage with only 1 bar. It's intended to make vet trials more accessible without trashing leaderboards, afaik.
We’re doubling down on the identity of this Mythic, where it’s meant to be an alternative to running many abilities that would naturally grant you a ton of power in form of duration-based bonuses. Our hope is that the access to a ton of Major and Minor buffs really helps this Mythic stamp itself down as an accessibility option to players who don’t have access to sweaty buff uptimes, group compositions, and high APM. The removal of unique stats takes away any situation where this Mythic felt like a straight upgrade to others and carves a unique spot that is more niche than what was previously seen, but still stands its ground with granting you access to a lot of raw power.

It went from fighting PVE bosses to looting ore (which is plentiful and ok respawn time) to begging people to turn off auto loot as if that stops them from looting the whole box anyway. Spamming the loot button to get in ahead of everyone else, and blocking view with synergies and the amount of players in one spot.

The first 4 leads were too easy, shouldn't known some BS was awaiting :D

Then just don't use it. This game's combat has far too much of a gap between ceiling and floor, and it's resulted in unsustainable populations for vet trials. At least this way the trials themselves don't get nerfed. The person will still have to get all the mechanics of the trial itself correct. But the part that is largely muscle memory will be less demanding.

Millions of players play our game but lets put the lead in potentially 4-5 safeboxes in the one zone. I don't think anyone at ZoS is that stupid or careless. It must have a drop potential on pickpocketing, thief troves, and treasure chests. You know? Actual gameplay like looting mats, killing delve/dungeons bosses, looting mobs, etc.
Other than camping very small number of safe boxes that may or may not have the lead with multiple players that are also standing around.

Agreed. Ember is the companion that many of us have been waiting for... one that grants rapport for successful Thieves Guild actions. It would have been a great nod to her being added to the game if the Lead would drop from any successful Thieves Guild type action in the Zone. That way, we could get it from picking pockets and locks anywhere in that Zone. What ZOS has done in this case is purely trolling the player base. After all this time, no one can claim that they didn't know exactly how this would play out.

I feel a disturbance in the Force... as if an impending doom looming over our heads. ZOS will troll the players with this grind for a little while and then NERF the ring into Oblivion. That way they can crush us twice... and we keep on playing.

This really is absolutely ridiculous. Everyone wants the lead so you have literally 20-30 people trying to unlock any of the safeboxes in murkmire only for a chane for 1!!! player to actually get it. Some people on PC NA sitting for 8+ hours trying to get it.

This is not how you keep players. Just bought the expansion for me and my wife. We sitting here for hours already as well, and toxicity in the zone and player behaviour is as unbearable as this waiting and E button spam game. We were actually hyped about High Isle but at this point we even think about a refund for not being to able to get what was the DLC selling point to us: new mythics to make new interesting builds for PvP.

ZOS, with all due respect. Do something!

Anyone have confirmation if it drops from something besides the safeboxes?

I saw a few people claim that it dropped from pickpocketing then every npc in the zone died for a while but, that has since slowed down.

After spending nearly 5 hours out there today and watching people try everything it appears it's only from safeboxes and you need to be the one to pick the lock.

After my experience out there today I now have 12 people on ignore (none prior to today) and I actually have no desire to log in. I was amazed at the number of people making an already bad experience worse by auto looting boxes (there was a rumor you could get the lead by looting the box and not being the one that picked it so they were doing in an attempt to prevent people from getting lead). The worst of the ESO community was on full display in Murkmire today.

Especially disappointing this is a mythic aimed at players who may have mobility problems and those with high ping like myself. I can only hope the fact my prime play time is ahead of EU that I get this lead before EU wakes up - which really only gives me a short window in my evenings.

We paid money for this DLC to have a fun and rewarding experience, not to get frustrated by the implemented loot mechanics and the non-existant moderation in the game. And what does it even matter if people want to get something in the first hours of release, the first days, or months later? My time is precious, even more so MY freetime. The very least thing I want from a game where I spent my freetime and money on, is locking me out of things because "grind reasons" or gating. In this case here, an easier access to the game rewards where lots of people actually paid for without any serious drawbacks, as well as doing something against this massive misbehaviour is needed.

There are people here that actually work in RL and are busy outside of their freetime activities. I don't have the nerves to waste my time with bad game design decissions or underage players that go mad in chats while acting like the craziest of crazy sort of psychopaths you can imagine.

Same here. Stopped counting how many people me and my wife had to report since the release of High Isle alone, and we spent all our freetime in the last days in ESO at the Oakensoul Ring lead drop spots. If we knew this is what this DLC turns out to be we would have spent our money elsewhere.

If that's accurate, might less than 100 people be able to get it per hour? (To simplify lets say you've got 20 boxes, a 50% chance for the unlocker to get it, and a 10 minute cooldown. So, three people would get it per box per hour or 60 people per hour total, 1440 per day total, 43,200 per month total, and 525,600 per year total assuming that people were doing it 24/7/365.)

This is just a very bad implementation. I've never wasted so much time in this game and felt so disgusted with playing it. The whole zone has become extremally toxic and it looks like this will continue for a very long time if the devs do not make some kind of reasonable change. It should have been in a larger Zone or maybe from any Safebox in the game. A game is supposed to be fun, not leave a bad taste in your mouth.

At this time, I've only seen other players in game state that they got the lead when unlocking it... So, I'm not confidant that anyone opening it afterwards can still get it.

Because it's new and shiny, because it's not a proc, and because most people can't keep uptimes on BiS items like Kilt to actually make them BiS for them.

ZOS learned nothing from the great shadowfen node camp debacle. Makes you wonder if they have the same teams designing the same things across chapters, or if they change whether they adequately inform the new people, because they messed up surveys in high isle as well, so it seems someone didn't get the memo about them.

Are you sure they learned nothing? Seems to me they learned if you put something desirable in a low population zone players will fill that zone. Not saying it was a good lesson to learn but...

For the case of end game pve gear/content sure. But that's a small slice of the larger game and player base. This is far more accessible. So it likely will be BIS for quite a few players and a good chunk of content.
