Please stop with this Dungeon DLC formula. You release 2 new dungeons, add a bunch of sets, and call it a day. Start releasing stuff with more replay value and please stop releasing so many sets. There’s way too many sets in the game and most of the ones released are redundant/ useless or they’re way better than anything else.

    Define replay value.

Cosmetics? Achievements? Multiple difficulty levels? Dungeons have those built in, the only thing is motifs are not sold with and are released way later <IMO too much later, but I get the idea of making more sells>.

If sets didn't exists the game would indeed grow stale. Just because you don't wear a set doesn't mean another player won't. There was a video of Skinny cheeks using Azureblight on a Stam DPS just for fun. Is this a bad thing? Not at all. That is a dungeon set afterall. Should you say it shouldn't exist?

Its ok if YOU don't like dungeons. That is quite all right. The idea of farming trifecta's in a trial and resetting an instance a billion times doesn't really appeal to me, but that doesn't mean its not content for others.

All scored content has replay value. This is because you’re either competing against yourself or competing against others to do better. It is rewarding to see your score go up with practice. Dungeons don’t have this. The quest can only be done once per character, the scenery only needs to be seen once, and after getting the achievements there’s no reason to go back in. If you need gear, farming on normal is usually more efficient, but also very boring because it’s easy. The HMs are made with end game players in mind. The crowd that the HM appeals to can usually beat it within a day. Occasional dungeons are fine, but they are not enough content for a quarterly release schedule.

In regards to the sets, they barely make the game more exciting because most of them aren’t worth farming anyway. Overland is incredibly easy so there’s little benefit to having a build for that. Endgame trials have specific metas so usually outside of 2 or 3 sets you’re gimping yourself. Lastly, I’ve added about 3 sets to my PvP collection over 2 years. There’s simply too many sets and no reason for them, they either break the game, never get used, or become PVE meta.

You already got your "feedback". You just didn't pay attention, or care.

    Seconded the above.

You had 91 pages of "feedback" saying, largely, that Account Wide Achievements was TERRIBLE IN ITS CURRENT STATE because of the way it auto-completed so many things for all the characters who had not, in fact, completed them at all.

    You didn't listen.

    You don't care.

Not liking the new 2-hander skill adjustments tbh. I'll get used to it eventually, as I already golded my 2-handers, but the reduction in damage is quite noticeable in PvE. I used to like the damage the 2-handers put out, now I find myself just holding block more.

They nerfed 2Handed dmg because of PvP, huh? Of course it makes PvE worse, I had been playing my StamKnight as 2Handed for a change of pace, since all other times my Stams default to Dual Wield. Was kinda liking it.

Generally excited for the changes made with this patch, from the sets to the story set up for the next expansion and with AwA in general, especially with the auto complete with world bosses, delves, dolmens, and public dungeon bosses, my 101st time through Auridon will be a bit more chill

Extremely disappointed that AwA was allowed to be pushed out while causing certain interactions with NPCs to be lost after a single character sees them and for NPCs to reference events a character have not taken part in yet because another has

If they would fix this, I could learn to live with the deleted history of my alts (even though I feel sad about that). Having the game world becoming a literal Dragon Break in the process, I can't quest with the sound turned on, and that means I can't quest at all because I love the voice acting. I just want the game world to be coherent and make sense for my alts again and I can pretend away the rest of it. Having the game world broken is too heartbreaking for me to play anymore.

    Eternal loading screens.

Six freaking minutes for a character load!

Four and a half minutes for a delve load! (Was being generous -- it took several tries, some longer).

Once in the delve the game froze and I was booted.

Sense I've got better things to do with what remains of my life. Will give ZOS a couple days to iron this out, then I'll find something better to do with my subscription money.

I couldn't even stay logged in once prime time started. Pretty much have never had connection issues previously, even during chapter launches which are much bigger than this.

It was nice seeing all those new achievements when all the numbers for everything on different characters was added up. I can still workout where the skyshards are that varuious characters still need, so not worried about the map changes. Did the new dungeons on my main account they were fun, bit sneaky hiding the bits of paper like that, but I will get them all eventually.

All 26 characters across 3 accounts have logged in since the update, just after the server came back. Unfortunately at the moment the game is virtually unplayable due to the server issues. I have not yet noticed the supposed advantages of this new system on the server load, since I was disconnected so much, ended up with never ending load screens, extremely long queues to log in that usually resulted in losing connection after the load screen eventually turned up. Second account could not access the guild banks or guild stores due to the load time, and the third account currently cannot even get in the game due to the disconnects. No doubt it will work out eventually, but I do not have the patience for it and will just take a holiday from ESO while it is sorted out. My bids for my guild trader are done and I could not care less about anything else.

I still say you should just get more hamsters for that pathetic server!

Well, I'm on PC/NA and I've been on a loading screen for .... I think about 15 minutes now. I get kicked every time I log out of a character, I wanted to see the new dungeons, but I can't play at all. And I'm terrified to force quit the game, lest it corrupt all of my achievements.

Difficulties are normal for a patch day (although I will say this is the worst experience I personally have had any time I've tried to play on a patch day).

But there's one thing I can add. Before I got caught in this permanent load screen, my friend and I tried to get into the Coral dungeon. I wasn't done loading all my characters in my preferred order for AwA (because it was taking FOREVER) so we decided to just run it in normal with our currently logged in characters.

An "explorer" achievement popped. I immediately regretted my decision. I would have preferred to unlock it on my main, but I'm betting now it will forever be attached to one of my rarely used alts. Because now only one character can get credit for doing something.

I was so focused on trying to express why it was important for us to retain the history of our characters that I didn't even realize that now, if I want my main to be my "main," I have to carefully plan one-time achievements to attach them to the "best" "earned by." Suddenly, AwA seems even more horrible and broken than it did before, to me. I didn't even think that was possible!

Therefore I feel compelled to add my voice to the others who already better expressed what I will also say: There is almost 100 pages of feedback on AwA, and much of it contains suggestions on how the implementation could have been improved. Besides a Q&A that did not directly address the many sentiments and stories in the feedback thread, you, ZOS, have been completely silent to many of your passionate and thoughtful community members. There were PAGES and PAGES of feedback and follow up questions added after your Q&A. Not only am I (and many others) unhappy with the implementation of AwA in Ascending Tide, we are also extremely disillusioned by the way our feedback was not even directly acknowledged. Many people said performance improvements were not worth this sacrifice. Many people suggested compromises and pointed out legitimately broken things.

It is extremely upsetting to see a "feedback" thread for the release when there was no action taken to address the feedback thread for AwA on PTS, which was extremely detailed and heartfelt. Plus, the feedback given was swift - there was plenty of time to change course if feedback actually mattered.

My Ascending Tide Feedback is --- directly address all points in the AwA PTS feedback thread. Stop asking for more feedback, which feels more like pretending given how the AwA thread was blatantly ignored, until you address the comments in the backlog. Why even have a PTS if we switch to a feedback thread for "live" as if it never existed?

I would like to see AwA and a system for complete, thorough character tracking. Make it so accounts get achievement points only once, rewards are account-wide, but we can track each time a character accomplishes an achievement, and the game world reacts with accuracy to all alts. Please don't make it so I have to think about who gets the "earned by." This is a huge step backwards for me. Not to mention that I now have to track dungeon and trial achievements in a spreadsheet if I want to do them again on an alt in a different role.
My #1 wish for ESO Today: Decouple achievements from character progress and tracking.

Posted this in a diff thread but gonna repost here too bcuz I'm in a bad way with this game rn:

I was in earlier today, now I can't get past the char select screen.
Being queued, booted while queued, erroring out telling me to check that I have a valid internet connection?? :s

I've been on during some very populated events and never had issues like this.
Now I can't even load a character. WTH?

    UPDATE:
Was finally able to get into game. Then dared to try and leave the HotLC into Rimmen, 3 minutes loading and counting...

    UPDATE 2:
HOLY CARP, OVER FIVE MINUTES JUST TO LEAVE MY HOUSE?
Could you guys maybe give the server hamsters some more food? Oil their wheel, something??

    Final Update:
I was actually able to load into N. Elsweyr, kill a couple dragons, do dailies on one character.
Did not port out of zone, was afraid to try lol.
    Using wayshines in-zone seemed normal.
    FT in overland seemed normal.
Did NOT enter delves, dungeons or any instanced areas.
Did not switch characters to do writs and training on other characters bcuz again, was afraid to.

Fighting what I decided would be my last dragon, going awesomely aaaaand, freeze.
    CTD
Tried logging back in, queued, then booted back to log in screen telling me to check my net connection...

I'm done, gonna go enjoy my game time in Horizon FW.

I'm one of those people that typically has very little issue on a patch day, or even a new chapter day. I've managed to log in twice, once after CTD.

I've spent 20 minutes trying to log in this evening with no luck.

To address future issues: stop listening to your "vision" or whatever in house, and start listening a LOT more to the players who are paying stakeholders in your game.

To say that U33 has executed poorly is an understatement. Lag and increased FPS all over the place. Loading times measured in minutes. Bank and traders loading slow. Armory broken. The new furnishing folio gave me the wrong recipes. Unified achievements (which I am in favor of) executed in such a way that it has broken popular addons and made life for alts (like collecting skyshards) a huge chore. The list goes on.

Honestly, the single best thing you could probably do is roll back this entire update, fix it, test it THOROUGHLY while actually listening to the players, then roll it out again later in a proper state.

How about stop working on the dlcs and fix the game? Cyro needs better stuff, pve also suffering. Instead of working on a new zone, fix the current ones we have. Also fix the servers while you are at it, and get better customer service.

No the skyshards were not shared, they make you buy that. The delve/dungeon is counted as done if any of your characters have done it, so the current state of the addons vanish that skyshard from the map. The delve will still be black for those that have not done it, and your individual achievements viewable in the list on the map page will still show which skyshards that character does not have.

It took ages for the missing skyshards to turn up on the delves I went into on one character, but they did eventually show on the map. That could have been a problem with the addon, or a server issue.

@peacenote Thank you for this well-written post. I feel the exact same way, and you've put those emotions into words so well. I couldn't help but note that a few people in the PTS feedback thread kept saying they felt "free to play any character they wanted" now that they could get achievements account wide, which felt strange to me because I already felt free to play any character I wanted knowing that they would each have their own achievements. Now, I feel I must carefully choose which characters I play so that those who mean the most to me get the credit for achievements I'd like them to have.

Ironically, what has freed some has chained others. I once felt free to play any character I wanted, now I feel reluctant to log in on alts I don't use regularly for fear that they'll get credit for something I wanted to do on my various "main" characters. And when it comes to my favorites, I now have to deliberate on who I play first.

Some have suggested removal of the earned by tooltip, but for me, removing the "earned by" tooltip wouldn't help this, because it would honestly just make the loss of any credit or record of the characters on the account that much worse.
    Legends never die
    They're written down in eternity
But you'll never see the price it costs
The scars collected all their lives
When everything's lost, they pick up their hearts and avenge defeat
Before it all starts, they suffer through harm just to touch a dream
    Oh, pick yourself up, 'cause
    Legends never die

I told myself I wouldn't care. Looking for a silver lining, I am freed of the time sink of earning titles or specific achievements on a given character. On the other hand, that's how I had fun building my characters. I'm seeing now, it was the little things, like gathering furnishing plans to earn specific crafting achievements on a given character. I'm just glad I started loading from my main first, because I can't make sense of who earned what, and why some achievements have a blue icon while others don't.

BTW, the map guide is broken on unexplored maps. It will show the partial list of collected skyshards, but on a 0/X map it shows the completed achievement.

Overall I'm in support of the AWA, however even as a fan of the idea it feels rushed. Bugs from the update as a whole aside (Slow loading times, camera wonk, etc.), the way the zone guide is tied to achievements rather than what the individual character has done feels strange, and the way NPCs comment about achievements rather than question complete flags also feels odd.

I do appreciate the AWA as a whole it just feels rough around the edges.

All the other intended changes with Update 33 are great! I love the path of hybridization, the new loading screens, the new music, and the new sets. I look forward to learning the new dungeons and hunting out new sets (Especially the new monster sets).

Game just feels like it needs some extra love and care. I know things are harder with everyone still working remotely, but keep it up. You all are doing a good job.

Simple balance fix would be to pull skill improving buffs off of "Class Skills" and put them in the Guild Skill lines for everyone to use. watching these people balance a game is like watching monkeys trying to put a square peg inside a round hole, its amusing for a moment and disappointing in the end.

again, Blastbones still FOBAR glitching, major spamable for necro's yet its never been fixed after the delay nerf. Necromancers still get "no buffs", if thats the case at least give us the passives back.
funny how we pay for a class, they break it, then forget about it, and then expect no one to complain. /SMDH.

AWA has totally borked my skyshard collection knowledge on all my characters. I have no idea who has collected what.

I will be blunt. I am not a person who gives a damn about achievements. Never have. So I personally didn't give a damn about AWA changes other than seeing how people were quite upset and that it would ruin those people's experience of the game because they felt doing things on other toons was now pointless. Not how I feel, but they felt that way. So it should have been something that was taken into consideration because if there are people who use achievements on each toon as a way to enjoy and experience the game, then taking that away from them is a *** move. Really, it is. But that aside, not having any idea what toon collected what shard? Well maybe just give them all to me on all my toons? Oh wait, you want me to pay in crowns for that.

    1. Disable any skyshards addons, if you use them. They used achievements to track progress before, since there was no other way to do it back when they were first created. The addon authors will eventually patch their addons, just give them time. There are new APIs specifically for tracking skyshards without achievements.
    2. Use the zone guide / map completion to tell what skyshards are collected in the interim.
