Imo the markings of significant bodies of waters is pretty inconsistent.
Like you've drawn all offshoots of the Niben river (Panther, Corbolo, Larsius, etc rivers) or that little river mouth west of Murkmire or the arguably minor rivers in Vvardenfell, but then didn't mark Skyrim's extensive waterways and lakes (Karth, Darkwater, White river; Lake Ilinalta, Geir, Honrich). The northern rivers of Auridon, the massive river of Deshaan or the lower river in Blackwood (Onkobra?). And so on.

Painstakingly drawn every little fracture of the coast of Vvardenfell, to even greater detail than the vanilla, but didn't gave the same treatment to Aldcroft & Hag Fen in Glenumbra or all the marshy areas of Black Marsh or Hjaalmarch.

Fully marked many important bays but not the Daggerfall one.

Most small islet are marked accurately, like Silsailen, Mathiisen or even Southpoint, but there are some that are still drawn as part of the bigger blob; like Forsaken Citadel in Quin'rawl.

This is mostly nitpicking tho, the map is still better than vanilla. Even if I disagree with Shadowfen.

In reply to the rivers, this is something we're going to address post-launch. The plan currently is to erase most of the bodies of water off of the map, and add an option in the settings panel to show them on the map, which functionally will simply show or hide another layer on top of the map which has the rivers and bodies of water on it.

Most likely 2 options, one which shows only major bodies similar to how it is now, i.e. The Niben, The Boujlsae, the start of the Yorgrim and Karth, etc. And another option which shows all rivers, including minor ones. I've already began working on this and the most likely scenario is that the Major Rivers option is enabled by default so the map will generally look like it does now.

I admit that I have trouble with Shadowfen. The region is indeed directly connected with Deshaan. The alliance zones of the base game have been designed in such a way that they are connected, that there is continuity. Not like the new areas where the borders have nothing to do once in the neighboring region.

I have a feeling that ESO had a very cartoonish side to it originally. A semi-cartoon/serious rendering was finally adopted when the game was released. Seriousness has only taken over in recent years.
That's why I always say we have two different games in ESO. The first regions and the last regions. It's obviously a question of progression but it's very different.

Gamepad zoom seems to be all kinds of broken on mine, the bumpers do nothing and sometimes when you zoom out with the triggers you can't zoom back in.

This has been happening to me too. I have been switching to mouse and keyboard to navigate the map for now. Hopefully a fix will be in soon. Thank you to the devs for your time and effort on this

Don't get me wrong, I love the mod, but I can't really use it right now without a working zoom function.

have been busy with life stuff but it's still on my todolist for the addon. i just released a small patch the other day and have been getting back into things. gamepad is a priority for both of us since Vyl plays using that mode.

fyi - i keep a list of stuff that i have noted down from people in the main addon file itself so if you're curious you can see what the current priorities are there. yours and cmetzger's messages are copypasted there vervatim to remind me.

also, i forgot this thread existed after the last one got yeeted by the mods, guess we can use this one as the main thread going forward.

@Thal_J -it seems the mods don't actually pay much attention to what the thread itself and the posters are posting.

So, been a while since last update. I've been fairly active on the ESOUI forum page for the addon, we have around 4000 downloads now, which is awesome. We found out that some famous ESO community members use our mod as well as the owner of ESOHub.com. which is even cooler. We also got the opportunity to talk to some ZOS employees about the map which I talked about in the previous thread.

The bad news: neither of us have had much time to work on the addon since we both have new jobs now, with Vylaera having more hours

From Vylarea's side, she's redrawing the outline of Tamriel again to address a few problems, we received feedback that people loved the Eltheric Map (we love it too) but it's simply too big filesize wise and hard to maintain. To that end we're basically increasing the resolution of the main map and shrinking it to make room for the Systres on the left hand side of the map where it should be. This'll mean that Tamriel will still say the same resolution, there's just space around the edges for High Isle. We'll probably not be able to get this out in time for the next dungeon DLC, but we're aiming for before Firesong (the Q4 DLC) since it'll include the new Galen landmass.

From my side, I've been fairly active on the ESOUI.com thread for our mod, there's about 50 comments there, diligently recording all the bugs that come up for when I have time to do it. Fixing gamepad mode is still on my mind - it's just a matter of having the time to do it.

In terms of my job, I actually got hired by the UESP. Yeah, the TES wiki. They had a job opening about three months ago and I thought why not, it'll be fun.

As a funny bit of irony, the first thing the site owner asked me to do was to fix up their interactive map, so I'm basically doing Elder Scrolls maps for a living. I did actually mention our mod to the owner and he expressed interest in making it an official option for the interactive map which you can see here:

    https://thalj.uesp.net/gamemap/esomap.html?world=2282

Very early talks though, don't take this as official or as confirmed or anything. UESP likes to be official and game-accurate, although it does host mods like Beyond Skyrim. If it does happen it'll probably be an option to turn on "Accurate World Map" mode or something. Still awesome though.

for me eso has always been a alternate universe.

1st In no es game do they talk of a vestige.
2nd You can legit time travel on eso and do so many things that normaly shouldn't be possible. Even fighting molag ball or any daedra should had gotten you insta killed.

@francesinhalover an alternate title given to the vestige in eso is The Souless One, which dunmer in Arena swear to. "By the soulless one.." etc. So technically the vestige is referred to in other games.
