I haven't looked yet, but this sounds typical. My god, look at the prices on the crown store. Houses are as much as $160 actual money. It's absurd how expensive they make things, so I find it unsurprising they would egregiously overprice things in the endeavours.

So people who complained about everything being locked behind a paywall, now have a way to obtain the same items without having to break through the paywall. What did you expect, that they were going to make the mounts whales would spend $400 to unlock, suddenly only require like 2 or 3 days of grinding to get? Fat chance.

It isn't a grind if you have the attitude of them being a bonus for what you do anyway. I didn't know the endeavors had started and finished the days allotment doing what I would have done anyway.

"Hahahahaha why even introduce this system"

months from now when new crates come maybe you will see something you want. You think to yourself I wonder how many points I have and surprise surprise doing what you would be doing anyway you have enough. Just play the game as if they didn't exist and you will still gain them.

Everyone is saying you earn 20 seals per day which is incorrect. It is 60 per day, not including the weeklys, which when I estimated to be 100, leaves about 2200 seals per month, meaning a radiant apex will take less than 8 months to get, which pleasantly surprised me.

I think the 16 gem and 40 gem items should've been a bit cheaper in seals, but the rare items turned out much better than expected for me. I thought they'd be 1+ years.

I feel like my opinion may be skewed because I never bought crates. I only got gems through free crates. So even a non radiant apex mounts seemed super rare and unattainable to me. Four-ish months for an apex mount is ridiculously cheap from my perspective I guess.

Just like the quote from our favorite person Klaus Schwab "You will own nothing and you will be happy"

That's my first reaction as well. The top tier items are a bit cheaper than I expected, but then, I don't think it's unreasonable to take up to a year to earn a free radiant apex mount for things you're largely going to be doing anyway.

But 2-3 months to earn a small non-combat pet or, like, a lipstick, seems pretty steep. Especially considering you can earn the equivalent in crown gems much more easily, over about the same amount of time, by just watching twitch streams.

I personally will never use them, as I don't like Radiant Apex Mounts. Too flashy. I prefer more bland realistic items.. Ill stick with witchknight charger.

BUT.. I do like a lot of the crown crate exclusive outfit styles and weapons.

For me, I see it in 2 forms.

    1. You should not be able to easily grind an Apex Mount, else no one would buy crown crates (not that I ever will)..
    2. You should be able to obtain ONE Radiant Apex Mount per crates season IF you do all dailies and weeklies.

With this in mind, I would be happy if they increase the daily cap to 200.
This will give you enough seals to get 1 radiant Apex Mount every 3 months, with ~10 days of leeway.
This way, when the crown crate comes out, if you like the flashy shiny mount, you have the ability to get it with some work and effort.

I don't think it's entitled for people to have expected/hoped that it would be possible to earn enough endeavor seals to get one radiant apex mount. They release three with each crown crate, plus the full stable of apex mounts, and then the descending levels of tat after that. The player choice would then come down to spend three months grinding for one thing or go for less expensive stuff and get more of them. A rate like that would not have discouraged whales, or stopped people from shelling out for crown crates. For most people the annoyance isn't that it is expensive to get Radiant Apex mounts, it's that you can waste money and not get a thing you're trying to pay for and Seals of Endeavor would have been a great answer to that. These items are not free, just as twitch drops are not free. They are designed to drive user engagement to the benefit of the company, which is a fair trade.

At the end of the day, it is what it is, but there isn't anything wrong with customers expressing how they feel about a part of the product they're supporting.

Depends on how you're defining "free". They are "free" in the sense that you don't have to spend extra RL currency to unlock them. Just your time.

    Yup, same. :/
I was in the mood to finally work towards a nice mount, one of the Apex ones.
I expected a grind, but when some of the big rewards are 7000-9000, that seems like a soul-numbingly long grind.

One of the Apex mounts I reeeally like the look of is 700 seals.
Even with the low number of seals that can be earned per day\week it felt achievable, something to work toward anyways.

But then I noticed the mount is "For a limited time"...
And I can't find anywhere that "limited time" is actually DEFINED.
    Fekin really?

Maybe the weekly endeavors will give a significantly higher amt of seals and it will make the grind shorter.
But I'm not holding my breath.

You fundamentally misunderstand the system. The system is here to provide you the items that are exclusively obtainable by gambling without paying money.

    Pot, meet kettle.

If you honestly believe that is why this system is here I think you are actually the one that doesn't understand. At these prices, it will be impossible to buy those exclusive apex mounts in the time period of a crate season. Period. The only thing they are good for, is giving people another task each day, appeasing legislators in countries like Belgium who won't allow ESO to be sold there until they remove the gamble boxes (it won't work), and having one more currency that you basically just passively accumulate until one day the moons align and something you want comes available when you actually have the endeavor tokens to spend on it.

But the average crown crate season does NOT last 3 months, and even assuming an additional 420 for the weekly endeavor (I don't believe it will be even close to that much though) it would take MORE than three months to save up enough for an apex, let alone a radiant.

Do the math if you don't believe me. Anyone saying this is providing an in-game method of obtaining items you want on the crate store is fooling themselves.

I had the opposite thought. Better than I expected. At 60 a day, NOT including the weekly, that is one radiant apex every 267 days.

If the weekly awards enough you are looking at 2 radiant apex mounts a year for free. If you don't care about those then you can get a few free items per crate season.

Not sure what people were expecting but there was never any hope of you getting the majority of a crate without paying. Just pick one or two items you like and you get them for free. It is 1000% improvement.

100% agreed. This is fair. If you really wanted all of the cosmetic items, you should have to pay something. The money is needed to run the servers and pay for new content.

    oh, well

No one's forcing you to grind for anything. Grinding is a personal choice that's up to each player. I don't grind for XP, gear, tel var, transmute crystals, alliance points, etc. I do grind for gold by doing crafting writs on multiple characters each day, but that's about it. And I did grind for the lead in Shadowfen, but that was a rare one-off exception.

The nice thing about the endeavors is that-- so far, at least-- you don't really have to grind for them, because they're things that most players are going to be doing anyway. The only one that came close to grinding for me was killing humanoids with my PC EU main, because he hasn't acquired the companions yet and didn't do any dolmens for Mirri's benefit, so he went to Bal Foyen to loot treasure chests and kill Covenant invaders-- which took longer than it should have, because there were several other players running around literally one-shotting every enemy in sight before my main could land a single blow.
I've fought mudcrabs more fearsome than me!
