You have to log into each character from what was explained when it was announced

PlayStation Trophy Update
Beginning with this update, those who play both on PS4 and PS5 will see their PlayStation Trophies properly sync up. Simply log into your characters that have completed the appropriate in-game Achievements to obtain the matching Trophies.

This makes it sound like it's a one time deal. If someone upgrades to a PS5 at a later date after they already have AwA, will the trohies still pop for them?

I still want to go through both lists just to make doubly sure, but just with a quick scan it seems to have fully worked for me.

Even the two I know didn't work even as intended when I did the content on PS5 (Sunspire Completed and Kyne's Aegis Completed) have unlocked for the PS5 version now.

Look, I'm not gonna lie, I'm kind of shocked it seems to have worked without issue???

Literally this.

Still can't believe we had to even make noise in the first place, but being able to have all my trophies back AND actually unlocking without whatever issue they'd introduced to make PS5 trophies buggy and not pop in the first place even as a separate list... I'm not mad at all.

I just hope that for anyone coming into PS5 as a fresh player who doesn't also have a PS4 trophy list that this HAS fixed that issue also since it works come off the matching in game achievements.

fyi if you unlock a trophy on ps5 and then log into the ps4 version of eso, the trophy will pop there too now

I'm not saying I dug out my PS4 earlier to try this and as such am halfway through redownloading the game, but I'm not NOT saying it either.

Fyi, if you don't have the character that unlocked the achievement but have the trophy, your trophy still won't carry over. Say you deleted the character one day, even with trophy it's not gonna carry over to ps5.

I had former emperor on my warden which I deleted before AWA were announced and the trophy/achievement doesn't carry over. I have the trophy on my Playstation account for getting emperor on PS4, but it's not gonna carry over from PS4 to PS5 because I no longer have that character.

So apparently all achievements associated with that character have been wiped as well. Which sucks
