PS4/PS5 games cant sync lists like this. What you are saying is what I have been saying as well that any PS5 "upgrade" version is going to be its own list. Can trophies auto pop? Yes, Spiderman did it when transferring your save file from the PS4 to the PS5. There is also a list of games you can search which auto pop trophies but having merged lists like this will be impossible due to PS5 versions having their own unique game code.
The only way for lists to be merged like in the picture above would be for a PS5 update to the PS4 version, which I said could be added into the options as a slider for resolutions and frame rate.
Aside from that, even when ZOS figures out how to sync trophy lists, there isn't a single game I have seen personally that would pop trophies completed on the PS5 version to also pop on the PS4 version, effectively cutting your trophies in half between two lists. It seems like its only possible way for trophies to pop for both lists is those earned on the PS4 would also sync to the PS5's list.
Me, I don't want a separate PS4 and PS5 trophy list for this game, I want a sync'd/merged trophy list like in the picture above which would say PS4/PS5 and the only way for that to happen is something like what I mentioned above to happen.

I’m not sure how you can so easily confuse “merging” with this problem, they aren’t merging lists they’re just seperate trophy lists for the same game

I'm not the one confused. The 3 or 4 of you replying to my first message are the ones confused. I never once said they couldnt pop trophies earned on the PS4 to the PS5. I said trophies earned on the PS5 list wont pop on the PS4. I said that stand alone PS5 upgrades cant be merged with the respective PS4 same titled game because the PS5 uses a different game ID code.

Okay the problem here is the way you keep shifting the goal posts, because a) you never talked about wanting a single trophy list before this post, and b) your original claim was "They wont be able to fix this, Sony changed the trophy data id for games on the PS5 which means all games that are on both the PS4 and PS5 have seperate trophy lists" which was proven wrong by the range of games that exist that have separate trophy lists for PS4 and PS5 BUT the trophy lists sync so what was earned in the PS4 version carry across to the PS5 version. You even talk about Spiderman here doing what you claimed ZoS "won' be able to fix" because "both the PS4 and PS5 have seperate trophy lists".
You then said: "Everything is saved server side for ZOS" and claimed that "once playing on the PS5 version, trophies won't pop on the PS4 list anymore". This was proven wrong because the data is stored server side for Destiny 2 and Hitman 3 and if you boot up the PS4 version after earning trophies in the PS5 version you'll get the trophies you've earned.
Now you're talking about how actually you want single trophy lists like this was what you were talking about all along. Which it wasn't. We've been talking about getting our PS4 trophies unlocked on the PS5 trophy list this whole thread. Because that's how the PS5 trophy lists now work.
I'm not sure what you mean by "now cutting your trophy list in half" when referring to PS5 earned trophies popping on PS4, because they're two lists so twice the trophies not half, and cutting them in half is literally what not having the trophies sync between versions is, especially when there are trophies that some people cannot earn anymore without having to erase a character to start over. We shouldn't have to "start over" things we've already earned in game.

Yes. It would be GREAT if we had one unified trophy list, I absolutely 1000% agree with you on that, then this wouldn't even be an issue. But we don't and it IS an issue and the fact other games have it entirely possible no matter where the data is stored so that people don't have to re-earn what they already have and that's all we want for the PS5 version of ESO too. Not to have to redo all the stuff we've already done to get what we've already got OR be stuck playing the PS4 version of ESO into perpetuity on any new generation because that's the only way we can keep our trophy list from splintering.3 -

Last time I switched to the ps4 version I got a lot of trophies, which I unlocked on the ps5 version, when I logged in with different chars.
It doesn't work properly though because there are still a lot of my trophies missing on the ps4 list.

Although I wonder if that is because Harrowstorm to Waking Flame are now a part of the PS5 trophy list and not under the separate "Additional Trophies" like they were for PS4, and the ones I got were from that section.

Got trophies for completing dungeons on vet and the one for pvp where you have to reach a certain score.

Kinda proves that this could EASILY be a Destiny 2 or Hitman 3 situation where they go both ways if ZoS had bothered to actually put a little bit of effort into it, instead of just assuming we'd be totally okay with fracturing our trophy list or playing an old version of the game for eternity to keep our trophy list intact.3 -

It is the combination of a dump system from Sony and an oversight or laziness vom ZEO.
Ubisoft is doing the trophy sync for a long time now and many first party studios anyways.
It’s completely up to the Devs to make the trophy’s pop retroactive or to ignore it.

I just made an EU character and started over for the earlier trophies I can’t get on my main NA.
I’m also quite sure that SONY itself just won’t let trophies pop on a PS5 list from PS4 work. If Sony did that then it would be a slippery slope with its own first party titles and other third party titles.1 -

I'm not sure what you mean. There's games where it literally gives a free platinum trophy by loading the PS5 version. destiny 2 and no man's sky are the first two come to mind. You just load the game and you watch all the trophies pop.3 -

Dauntess13✭✭Honestly, this whole thing is confusing. I use FFXIV and destiny as an example because there is no saved data like ESO, it's all server side. Destiny you boot it up and it unlocks all your trophies and you can continue working on your trophies.
FFXIV started on the PS3, trophies carried over to the PS4 and now, with the PS5 version, they added new trophies and your progress is recognized after you do something related to that trophy. There's a trophy for like 1000 FATES (similar to dolmens). As soon as you do one FATE, it unlocks all the trophies associated to how many you've completed.

The update was unfinished in multiple areas, fidelity mode still crashes constantly1
