Malabal Tor: The boss at River Edge and also the Boss Skullbreaker drop the Face of the Wolf Beast Mythic item. We did a zone clear tonight and two guildees got drops.

I’ve been trying to get the Jeweled Skull all night. I am just trying to figure out of I am just having bad luck or looking for it in the wrong place. I don’t really PvP so I want to get out of Cyrodiil ASAP. Oddly enough the only other antiquity lead I wanted from there, the one for the Sword of the Sorcerer King (yes I collect Ayleid artifacts) which is gold quality and you’d think rarer, dropped from the very first town daily quest I did.

For what it's worth, I got a lead for the Jeweled Skull from a chest in IC.

I got the Thrassian Stranglers piece Nautilus Shell Guards from the second miniboss I killed in Karnwasten, who was named Shahmar or something like that. (A big ambulatory shellfish type.) This was after I killed Madra but before I did the skill point boss.

I got the Sacred Chalice of Ysgramor lead in Hall of the Dead from Sorgild Lodorsbane. This is after killing most other minibosses along the way to get to him/her, plus the skill point boss, but not the ones in the skyshard quest.

(Hall of the Dead, unusually, gates its skyshard behind a side quest.)

I got the Jeweled Ayleid Skull from the first overland chest in Cyrodiil. Did 5 daily quests and no Sword of the Sorcerer King.

I think it was from Toadstool Hollow, that is the only delve I farmed in that day. There are two things to consider here: bosses and chests. I am not sure but I think the skull lead was a drop from a boss. The chests did not have the lead I was after.

After that I started making screenshots of all lead drops. I say we wait for the patch. I know what you mean about pvp... I went in my PvE gear, but luckly my main char is a magblade, so it is easier for me to sneak.

Speaking of chests... some leads are quite hard to find in chests. Like the last part of the Aldmeri music box, or the Aldmeri painting. Some people say they looted 300 safeboxes to get the lead for the box. Also the painting is hard to find, I spent hours looting chests in Auridon, without luck.

The lead dropped for me from the skeletons that guard the entrance to Vahtacen, the delve you go to on one of the Cheydinhal quests.

I got a Spellscar Shard lead from a chest in Craglorn. Specifically, it was from the second chest (both Simple) I encountered in the dig site area for the Craglorn purple freebie lead.

i farmed a lot of chests but still no drop for me. I think i'll try the chest event today on skyreach.

I got the lead for the moons blessed pool in Moonlit Cave from an urn. I spent about 1 hour opening urns.

The skyshard is not gated at all. I have gotten the skyshard on 11 different characters and I have only done the side quest once on my main.

If you pick up the quest in the dungeon, the door locks till you get to that step of the quest. If you don't pick up the quest, the door remains unlocked.

Thanks, good to confirm there is more than one source for these leads. It seems like that may well be the case for all of them. Maybe one kind of source, say a chest or a node, may have a higher drop rate for a particular lead but it seems like just about all of them can come from multiple sources as well. Time will tell for sure.

I went overboard with trying to avoid having to PvP. I went to Cyrodiil to look for the leads on a stamina necromancer in full medium armor with a 5 piece coward’s set and stage 4 vamp invis... I can pretty much dance a merry jig right next to another player and they wouldn’t see me, lmao.

Super gutted to hear about the rarity of the Echoes of Aldmeris, that was next on my list, lol. Let the farming commence I guess.

Update: Literally just walked into Newt’s cave and came across a master chest and found the lead to the Jeweled Skull inside! Considering that this is the first master chest I came across since I started farming for the lead I guess it’s a safe bet to assume that the quality of the chest yields a higher chance of getting leads.

No - have the same issue. In the meantime I have found arround 5 The Dutiful Guarbut no single Tri-Angled Truth Altar in Bal Foyen.

Either it's not correct that you find this lead in safeboxes or it's a general bug?!

Moons-Blessed Ceremonial Pool - found in urn in Moonlit Cove Delve. Don't waste your time with the backpack thing. Lots of urns in the NW non-cave section.

I just did the Dwemer public dungeon in Western Skyrim (name ending in -karst) for the first time. I picked up three different purple leads on the visit, namely all the possibilities on the list I'm working from, which is Alcast's. I forget which of the three came from the skillpoint boss.

I struggled a bit with the Dwarven Breastguard at the Earthforge, eventually logging out without finding it. But when I logged back in the next day, the Curious Dwemer Rubble was right at my feet, and gave me the lead.

I got both the Daedric Pillar of Torment and the Sanguine Doublet in Village of the Lost. One was from the harvester miniboss who's in the same building/cave/whatever as the skill point boss.
